    When you're buying a Cartier, you're buying the watch for its design and not the movement. I think a solar power quartz in the Tank is great. You get the gorgeous design and don't need to worry about a service or battery change for 16 years.

      I agree on all your points on this particular watch. Especially if you are giving it as a gift to Your wife or side chick. They tend to not want to wind the watch and changes to the date. Perfect everyday watch!

    Hot take but if a watch doesn't have a second hand it doesn't need a mechanical movement. Half the fun of a mechanical watch is watching the sweep and the other half is the heritage. On a two hander you don't have that constant reminder that the watch isn't mechanical so you can appreciate it for the craftsmanship and design.

    Wonder if these new plant-based straps can be bought separately to use on older tank models? Wonder how long it’ll take until animal skin can be grown in a lab? Prohibitively expensive right now but surely that’s the future.

    So it can last 16 years … does that mean you recharge it under the sun? I’m so confused.

    • @michaelsorrentino3346
      @michaelsorrentino3346 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      24hrs sitting in the sunlight can charge the battery for months- it’s cool. My solar Seiko SNE divers have seconds per month accuracy and are the most accurate watches I own..
      Cool watch, but I’m happy with my Solo Quartz. Like many have commented it doesn’t have a seconds hand anyways so accuracy isn’t really an issue. I do like it’s updated.

    How would you compare the Cartier Tank to the JLC Reverso?☘

    • @RK-ti2qq
      @RK-ti2qq 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have 2 Reversos and 3 tanks. The Reversos are thicker (mine are extra thick because they are both dual face Reversos).
      Reversos offer more diversity of dials (styles, colors, markers etc).
      My Tanks are all mechanical hand winders-2 of them have JLC movements.
      I often compare them and thank God I don't need to sell a watch because I really couldn't choose one over the other.

    Planform areawise, it's about 12% SMALLER than its regular quartz, "Tank Solo" brother, but 1mm thicker than the Solo. I suppose the Solo will be discontinued soon, if not already. I wish Cartier would produce a thin rubber strap for this model. Hublot proved decades ago that rubber and luxury watches go together.

    • @XxXHardcoreshredderxXXxxxxxxxx
      @XxXHardcoreshredderxXXxxxxxxxx 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think rubber is part of their ethos as a jeweler though. Hublots moto is fusion of materials, not being elegant

    Great watch, interesting review but this watch doesn't go along with saggy jeans or hipster outfit that is shown on the picture. This timepiece represents a classic design and saying that it goes with sports wear is wrong.
