I was up at Fort Bill in late August and did four runs on Blue Doon on an afternoon ticket on the gondola. I found the trail rode better, both in terms of flow and grip, after it separates from Top Chief. Definitely tests the confidence as you can’t push hard into some of the corners and there’s certainly a case for arguing that the flat corners could do with having a little more support. But, it’s still a new trail, so I’m sure that they’ll tweak it here and there, as well as do some work on improving the surface too. It’s definitely worth giving it a few runs if you’re there to ride.
I agree. So the Blue Doon has some dodgy corners and a variety of loose surfaces ….. but that’s great! Isn’t it? They’re part of a very unique trail. I understand why people don’t like it, but those same reasons are why I liked it. Variety is what makes MTB so great, right? The only thing I’ve heard that I 100% agree on is that it should be upgraded to a red trail. Having a spill on the blue doon wouldn’t be pretty. I’d hate to come off the trail at any point because of the rocks and steep landscape. To keep it as a blue run they would have to support those corners and tackle the surface. It took me till half way down on my second run before I actually started to really like the Blue Doon…….even thought I think it should be the Red Doon 😉 Thanks for the comment bro 🤟
Excellent.....you make it seem so easy!!!!
Looks sweet man, wish I was there with you
