As a kid I always loved Majora's moonwalk being that they're fighting inside the moon lol I love the small references to the greats like Elvis and Michael Jackson
14:17 I was not expecting Moonwalking in a Zelda game but boi do I love it!
I had a theory that Kafei is the Link of Termina. He is similar in design and is basically the reverse of him. Link was made an adult by a legendary holy artifact that has incredible power, whereas Kafei was made a child by a legendary evil artifact with incredible power. Plus you can even CONTROL him at the end of his sidequest! The only mainseries game where you control someone other than Link.

Am I the only one that think Majora's Incarnation kind of looks like one of the Giants? Especially in the picture at 13:19 , where he is depicted so massive.
Your comment is the first time I've heard it--that's a great observation! Majora being a corrupted Giant or having some connection to them in that way is a cool idea that might be worth investigating
@@ThaneGaming I think one of the stories Anju's grandmother narrates implies Majora is some kind of corrupted giant. I don't really remember them too well (last time I played MM was two years ago and I have some really bad memory), but I have the strong feeling it was something like that.

Right? They enter the hideout at 7:00PM, so if he winds up trapped in there, he'll be stuck for 11 hours before the moon hits. Imagine being in that small room, feeling the Earth tremors but not being able to see the status outside
Anyone else stop Sakon from robbing the bomb shop lady, only to find out that by doing so you've ruined the couple's mask sequence? 😑
Yes, I actually did that in my most recent playthrough! I was concerned when Kafei was still at the back of the Curiosity Shop on the final day, and then I realized I got the Blast Mask in that cycle...I didn't have access to Ikana at the time, I just wanted the Keaton Mask and extra Bottle early
And now that I know that I’m never saving the old lady’s shit again! I love Anju and Kafei I can’t help it. They’re quest is one of my favorites.
Congrats on the sponsor, man! Also, I always felt like that the moon is basically an impostor of sorts, a demon the major mask summoned, not the real moon. This could explain why there's no obvious lasting effect from destroying it. But, that is, if, we're going with MM being one of Link's realities and not his purgatory as most had theorized. I'm not a huge Zelda buff so I'm sure someone will argue that the moon is actually real and possessed or whatever though. Anyway, thanks for cc'ing! --deaf viewe
Thank you so much! You bring up a great point about the moon, I've thought about this a lot. I think it is Termina's real moon given a face, because most everyone in the game refers to it as "the" moon. The astronomy professor Shikashi also mentions that "lately, there is something quite strange with the moon", suggesting that something happened to the existing moon rather than it being a new one Majora conjured.
As a side note, I love that plenty of NPCs appropriately react to the fact that it's getting closer, but I do wish more would talk about its face 😅the only time it's directly addressed in the game is by the juggling twins, when one of them calls it a "really, really scary, red-eyed moon".

Majora's mask has something that a lot of the other Zelda games lack in regards to this otherworldly layer of darkness and despair, and it's overall vibe is just so unique and bizarre. It feels so occulted and with a lot of the things you've gone in-depth with in these videos, it adds to that feeling. I doubt another Zelda title will ever be made again that manages to bring about the emotional reaction and intrigue many experience with this game, but that makes it all the more special imo.

So I was looking at the design of Kafei’s sun mask in this video and I was thinking “hmmm i wonder what the inspiration for that mask is, it looks like it def has Japanese influences, I wonder what else there is”
Would you possibly ever do a video about the inspirations behind the masks? Like maybe make one small video on each one separately? I’ve tried to find content on this topic and I got nothing
I for one have always been confused by the design of the Couples mask and I’d LOVE to know more about it! I can’t tell if it’s two faces kissing or what lol
I’d love to know more about a lot of their reasons for the designs and what story brought them to that.
Obviously masks like Don Gero and the Breeman mask don’t need a deep dive tho lol
But I believe The Zelda team doesn’t just do things Willy nilly. I believe some of these masks esoteric designs are on purpose and full of lore.

This is a really interesting comment, thank you for the input and suggestion! I will certainly consider doing a video on the inspirations behind masks, I think that'd be a ton of fun. As for the Couple's Mask, I do think the symbol etched in the front of the mask is supposed to be two people embracing/dancing (the figure on the left looks sort of like a person in a dress, and the one on the right is wrapping their arm around them).
I do have some projects in the pipeline already, so it'd be a while but I'll let you know if I decide to go more in depth on a video like this!

Like the ancient tribe sealing Majora's Mask in shadow, the Hero of Time wanted to prevent the Fierce Deity Mask's misuse, so after his adventures in Termina he sealed it inside of the Majora's Mask amiibo for the Hero of the Wild to find eons later

I did not know about this, but I've heard of Amphibia before because there's also an EarthBound homage! I'll have to give the show a watch if it references two of my favorite games ever 😅 is the show itself any good?
