I don't really think the audience is their to sustain a new release, I love platform games and was excited when Yooka-Laylee was announced and got the game twice but its reception and sales wise wasn't great. Before its release you could find threads and news reports that Yooka Laylee will make Xbox regret not making a new Banjo game while after its release people were saying it makes now sense that they didn't made a new Banjo Game.... Sometimes it works like Crash remastered Trilogy with + 10 million sold but the sequel did 5 million and its a huge drop. Let's hope then the next toys for bob (spyro game?) does well.
Simple solution then instead of making it a AAA release, just license the IP out to a group of hardcore fans and let them make a fan game and then put it on game pass
Pro tip: The red borders on your yt thumbnails resemble the red progress bars that show on thumbnails of videos you've watched. I almost skipped over this video because at first glance, I thought I was looking at a full progress bar and assumed I'd already watched the video and forgotten about it. Then saw it again and realized you just happen to have thin red borders on your thumbnails. Glad I took a second glance because got damn, this vid is pretty well put together. Very little filler or off-topic nonsense, and I think the point you made at the end was very well said. Good stuff, man.
I had it all when playing this in 1998 , watching ads of it on "your favorite" on cartoon network...what else did you need if you had a tv in your own room and a n64.... and Diddy Kong with 3 friends to play with after school omg didn't know it would be hard to beat that
I do enjoy the passion you have for Banjo - always something great to see and it felt genuine. You got a knack for this thing. Just a bit of constructive criticism, if I may. I appreciate the look at Diddy Kong Racing, though a segment that long in a retrospective about Banjo took me out of it a bit, especially when Banjo wasn't referred too much in it. I don't think there's anything stopping you from making a DKR retrospective other than your own rules. By all means, make a DKR video! And in terms of where Rare is now, I'm happy to see what they've done. The reason Nuts and Bolts is the way it is mainly has to do with where the team was at that point in time - they just wanted to do something new, which in an industry that wants discourages that, I'm glad Rare can games they want to make, more or less. Only reason we got Banjo in the first place is cus that team wanted to do more than just DKC - plus chasing trends is why have Banjo, Killer instinct, Battletoads, etc. And I'd love to see a new Banjo myself, but I don't want Rare to make it if they don't want to - any studio who can prove themselves can make one. I've been surprised time and time again by revivals done by different studios - KI 2013 is hands- down the best in the series. And yeah, Banjo fans are still here, but I do wonder what it'd have to sell to be profitable. While I enjoy Yooka-Laylee (and its sequel), it didn't do gangbusters, and I wouldn't want a risk to be taken just for studio layoffs/shutdowns to follow - Mario doesn't have to worry about that cus... it's Mario, and Crash and Spyro (while I love those games too) have mainly gotten by off nostalgia. All-new games don't sell as well as the remakes, and it's a business at the end of the day. Still, I have hope we'll see Banjo again down the line. Just gotta be patient.
Hahaha yeah it felt like he had a script for DKR and wanted to use it so tacked it onto this video (in game mechanic explanations for what basically amounts to... "The character design originated here"???)
30:02 when I do this Jiggy now I clip through the window between the engine room and the room with the switch that slows down the rotors with a beak barge it makes it so much easier
Just found this channel and I truly think you are very underrated man, such wonderful transitions and how you handle the topics when it comes down to how each game has its ups and downs instead of calling any of the games "Masterpieces", It's refreshing to see that and your love and passion for the games are amazing to see. If only Microsoft and Rare shared the same love and desire for Banjo these days as us the fans did. As long as we keep talking about them something might happen eventually. Awesome work man and best of luck on the next project.
There’s nothing more I appreciate than a well-edited retrospective video with a speaker whose mic doesn’t make them sound like they’re talking from 5 feet away.
If I remember properly, I think the best way to beat Canary Mary is to avoid activating her broken rubber band AI. I think there is a small window that if you keep a consistent button press you can stay just behind her without requiring too much speed, and then you button mash at a certain point to more reliably win. Still ridiculous, but can save physical injury.
Fantastic work! This video kept me watching all the way through reliving memories from many years ago! I still play banjo 1&2 to this day. The fan base is still here.
Couldn’t agree with you more. Perfect description of all the BK games, and your argument for another game is on point. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on Yooka-Laylee too if you have any.
When you called clanker's cavern a disgusting toilet bowl of a world, I bursted out laughing, and clicked the like button. That is the perfect way to describe that level.
I think what I miss about the early 90's is that companies used to take more risks on video games. Banjo Kazooie would've never been made in this day and age.
The problem for me with Tooie is that they made a bigger world with less collectibles. The notes getting grouped in 5 or 20 reduced from 100 notes to 17 “notes”
The reason why is revealed in L.O.G.'s speech about "collecting as many pointless objects as possible", it was the culmination of Tooie, then Conker, and the "shoot things" detours into JFG, GoldenEye, and Perfect Dark, evolving away from both Rare's burnout and the nuclear backlash from DK64, which was a sacrificial lamb designed to test ideas before implementing them polished in Tooie.
HOW HAVE I NOT COMMENTED UNTIL NOW?! Haha! Arin, I've got to say... you've really outdone yourself here! This is a fantastic and thoughtout retrospective on the series! I've played both Banjo Kazooie & Tooie and consider both such classic games! I'm so happy to see give them as well as the other titles the love and respect they deserve! Nuts & Bolts... Well I won't lie, while I don't love it nor do I hate it... I do have a small soft spot for it. As me and friends had a fun with it! (Mostly just messing around and seeing what random and wacky cars we could make!) But once again, a brilliant video and I look forward to what comes next! :)
Got a sub from me my man. This is exactly the stuff I'm doing over on my channel and it's great to see another small channel clearly trying to do great things. Great video and good luck!
20:58 The music that plays when you enter the water and Snacker the Shark appears is cardiac arrest inducing. I love the level but Snacker the shark gives me some nightmares.
@@ArinTheWolf Ever since open world became a trend in modern gaming, collect-a-thons were no longer needed for big companies. Rare said the reason Nuts and Bolts was made is because they runout of ideas for traditional Banjo. Thankfully collect-a-tons due exist in indie games, because the staff doesn't have the resources to make an open world game. Such as Demon Turf Neon Splash, Hat in Time, and Tinykin. I also Shantae Half-Genie, it's not collect-a-tion, but the transformations rival that Mumbo Jumbo's.
I love the way you go through the entire history and still keep me interested! I loved watching you play these games when you were smaller. Super proud of you bud! Great work!
I did see someone make a video last year, saying this game is getting a remake/remaster. Don’t know but I would love that, as long as they don’t change it and just update the graphics and mechanics
If you ever never able to free Clanker from the water, how did you beat the game? In order to beat Banjo-Kazooie, you need at least 94 Jiggies, and most Jiggies in Clanker's Cavern can't be collected until you've helped him out of the water.
I’m currently finally fully playing this game, just made it to Clankers Cavern!! I was born the year it came out and I remember as a kid the farthest I had gotten was just beating mumbo mountain cause my cousins would hog the controller
love BK.... I would 100% play a new BK game if they kept it in line with the origional 2.... its why Yooka-Laylee took off, despite the mistakes they made
Top 3 N64 games: Ocarina of Time, Banjo-Kazooie and Diddy Kong Racing. Banjo-Kazooie is oozing with charm and is so fun to play, one of the best platformers ever for sure!
I would also say this is my fav gaming soundtrack from a composing standpoint. Actual soundtrack wise I’d pick between tony hawk 2, San Andreas or vice city
Banjo kazooie is one of my all time favorite games I totally agree the music is amazing you hit the nail on the head . Banjo tooie on the other hand feels like it chose quantity over quality and don't even get me started on nut and bolts
Excellent job! Shame I missed out on these games due to not owning an N64. Though this video did remind me of Nuts & Bolts. Still haven't finished that one, it's just as mundane as you say.
Hey Arin, super big Banjo-Kazooie Fan here! first of all. damn what a video! i love it! i love that you put DKR in a Banjo-Kazooie Video, cause i always thought about it this way: first the events of DKR are happening, then Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64 and then Tooie. i love to think its a good Rareware Story! to Wizpigs second Race. i think you should give it another try, even though you hit something. i think its much easier than his first Race (try the first Race with Krunch, you will need therapy after this) im SORRY in advance, for somebody who claims to know everything in this game, your gameplay is pretty bad. seeing how you tiptoe through the engine room, and jumping through these fans with Banjo. Not with Kazooie ( her jump is much faster) and then running to the wrong end of the Rusty Bucket. damn bro, this part of the Video cracked me up. Freezeezy Peak is set at night, too. its the Christmas Eve! and if you finally reach the top of the Lair, you can see that its night too, if you look through the 2 windows, you can see the moon. other than that, you are totally right, this is a cartridge full of magic and Kazooie is always a good time, to put a smile on our faces. for Banjo-Tooie. i love this game! i like how much it adds to the lore of the Banjo-Kazooie Franchise, i can understand all the critíque this game gets, when it comes to certain jiggies! but i am glad there a many fans out there who defend this game ( watch Cloud Connections video on Backtracking in Tooie). i prefer the more darker atmosphere. i prefer Kirkhopes Music. Isle o Hags and Grunty Industries are so good songs. and speaking of Grunty Industries. I LOVE IT! i dont know how old you are, (you said you didnt have Tooie as a kid) but for me and my friends back then. there was no world so challenging and mindblowing as GI. i was one of those kids, who just didnt know how to enter it (although its very obvious) but this led to the craziest schoolyard theories and fantasies. i will never forget how my friends came over to my house, to see what the problem was. its one of my favourite memories. the moment we end up in the factory was so awesome. and then the maze begins. i can totally understand how frustrating this level can be. especially for people who enter it for the first time. but for me! i love it! i know it sounds weird. but i was stuck in this level for so long, that i started to love it and i know the layout like the back of my hand. just a few weeks ago i completed tooie for the xxx time and i scheduled my gaming time, to beat this level on a friday night, i made an event out of it. i was preparing food. some cold drinks and my fiance was watching me. i tried to beat as much as i can as Banjo and Kazooie seperated + i was trying to grab as much items and Jinjos as Mumbo, too! the jiggy behind the fan is one of the Highlights for me!! i love this game!! and for canary mary. the first race in Cloud Cuckoland was not that hard, but the second one was. me and friends found out, that if you stay behind her for the whole time she wont speed up, just when you go down to where you start ( at about the Zubba Statue) you need to hit the Button as fast as you can ( i am a Mario Party Veteran, so no problem for me) for the buyout. to this day i like to imagine what if, Nintendo would have bought Rare. maybe there would be another Banjo. For gamecube. this would be awesome, cause i love the Gamecube! Gruntys Revenge is a pretty solid Game, i can even imagine this on a console with better graphics. the Soundtrack is pretty good, there are some nice remastered version on youtube Banjo Pilot was ok, i love the Duels. and finally, Nuts and Bolts.. from my first earned Money i bought an 360, just for Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts and it was the biggest dissapointment ever. i just dont like it. even if people say its just a bad banjo game, but not a bad game at all. i cant. i just cant stand LOG and this dumb Tiger. i dont like the artstyle and besides Banjo Land. all the levels were pretty boring. the Soundtrack is very good though, Kirkhope just know how a Banjo Game needs to sound. and for your conclusion! wow Arin, those were some fine words! i got goosebumbs on my goosebumbs! i just dont get it, how Rare just cant see us Banjo-Fans! the message you send is clear, you speak for all of us! i hope Gregg Mayles will give this Bear and Bird another Chance! even as a remake! what an awesome video! thank you!
You wanna know something else funny? Megaman getting into Smash lead to Megaman 11 Solid Snake coming back lead to the Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake But for Banjo, there’s nothing new to look forward to for the series it’s amazing how Rare somehow still wasn’t convinced that there’s no audience with the all the reactions to Banjo getting revealed for Smash, even K. Rool hasn’t appeared in a new game since Nintendo doesn’t know what to do with Donkey Kong and is reselling Country Returns for $60 on Switch, it’s not even video games, K. Rool isn’t even present in the DK Theme Park.
The N64 was my 4th home console. I loved Mario and Zelda on the NES, I loved the Sonic trilogy, and I loved the DKC trilogy. All that said, Banjo-Kazooie is my favorite N64 game, and it's not very close.
Commenting for engagement and the likes, really liked this video man :) I share the same exact sentiments about kazooie and similar ones to tooie, I just had a different experience because I grew up with tooie as well. I appreciated that it was a lot larger when I was younger and had more free time to sink my teeth into it, but yea as an adult the idea of replaying it seems like too big of an undertaking, especially as the moment to moment gameplay is not as tight as kazooie’s. Felt like nuts and bolts got a bit of an unfair thrashing lol, I get not being into it nearly as much bc i feel the same, but like I don’t loathe it. It’s pretty cool to make different vehicles and the sense of progression in unlocking car parts throughout the game is very enjoyable for me. It’s an expression of creativity that you can even see work in Zelda tears of the kingdom, and yea while nuts and bolts world are empty, I think it’s better to think of them as racing courses than explorable, dense, handcrafted worlds. Basically, nuts and bolts is a bad banjo game but a fun game none the less. Still, different strokes for different folks.
as a kid, i was never able to beat canary mary in cloud cuckooland. but when i grew up a little bit, sometime when i was a teen, i was able to beat it. i'd love to play banjo tooie again, it's definitely one of my favorite n64 games.
I liked the video, however i cannot agree with the opinions on Nuts and Bolts, i actually and GENUINELY enjoyed this game very very much and i would unironically get hyped as fuck if theyd make a sequel of it. And i am saying that as someone who did play the originals a looooooot when they came out.
I say let Rare make the level looks like it's in night it's just obvious in mad monster mansion and witchyworld even you don't realize that until you saw the sky box right?
@@7hndo_89 Bubblegloop Swamp felt dark, especially when I played on my dark old TV, lol Plus the crickets and frog sounds made it feel night like, Freezeezy Peak however could’ve had darker snow or something, the flight aspects help you see it’s dark though,
When it comes to Game Composers of the 90s, 3 stand out above all. Koji Kondo, Nobu Uramatsu and David Wise. There are also a few SEGA composers that also deserve mention amongst them, including the original Sonic and Sonic 2 Composer as well as Phantasy Star composers and the composer to the Knights into Dreams game.
The audience is definitely here. I mean I NEVER PLAYED THE OG GAMES AND I PROLLY WASNT BORN WHEN THEY RELEASED! And I wanna play these games! The 2020’s are definitely the years for nostalgia! I mean look at everything that’s around nowadays! Platformers, rubber hose animation, characters and franchises thought long dead resurrecting and all the different stuff influenced by nostalgic stuff! It’s the time to being things back and show people something that they loved and would love to see again. Sorry I’m rambling. But still I wish I could play Banjo Kazooie in the modern age but without a more universal and up to date port that’s impossible. Oh well.
Great Video! Banjo and Kazooie will forever have a very special place in my heart as on of the best, if not the best Platformers from my childhood. The Problem with Rare these days is, they aren't Rare anymore. No one from the original Team is still there, it's Rare in name only. Glad that you felt the same way about Nut's and Bolts opening, it was just a slap in the face of those who loved Banjo and Kazoie. Disrespectful is what that was... To be honest, I hope Rare never touches the IP ever again, they do no longer have what it takes to give it the respect it deserves. In my oppinion, they should sell the IP to peole who actually care about the characters. Playtonic might be a good option, although Yooka and Laylee are already quite charming (maybe a mash up at some point would be cool),. So please, for the love of glob, Rare should not make Banjo-Threeie, I don't think I would survive that emotional slap in the face. The best thing that happened to Banjo and Kazooie in the past years, was their introduction to Super Smash Bros. As Grant Kirkhope said: "Banjo... Kazooie... we're home." Now let them stay home, give those characters back to someone that treats them with respect.
Really enjoyed the video overall! But the Nuts and Bolts section was kind of iffy? Feels like you didn't do much research into what was happening at Rare at the time, and especially now. The Rare that made Banjo-Kazooie is gone, Threeie isn't impossible, but acting like Rare just needs to get it's act together when the company is basically an entirely different one at this point is silly. Nuts and Bolts isn't nearly as bad as people claim. You seemed to come at in the worst faith possible, which is fair. I don't really get the whole "they're INSULTING us!" it's British humor, that's how all their games have been. They are not insulting you. More over though, the gameplay itself is actually really neat and fun in and of itself, not a platformer, but you should know that going in, especially by now. If you meet it where it's at instead of where you want it to be Nuts and Bolts is really fun and has quite a bit of variety on offer. I get being put off by it, but honestly how you talked about that game alone made it a little hard to take you seriously, a bias that strong is a pretty red flag for me. I hope one day you come at it how it is and I think you'll have a pretty good time. I really disliked it at firs too, but when I finally played it I realized what it was and after setting aside my irrelevant expectations it was much than just "this game sucks" as you put it. You wind up making some very silly contraptions to complete some of the levels, and eventually can create transforming vehicles. With the right build you can seamlessly go from driving to flying to floating and back.
@@autobotstarscream765 I agree with the association, but the roasting is SO in line with Rare's style it's almost like people who complain about that aren't really Rare fans. I get the sentiment behind letting that annoy you, but it just doesn't make sense to me.
Nuts and Bolts. Banjo Kazooie: Car Dependency Edition. It's like a European or Asian who is used to lively places where fun is a short walk away moving to America and finding all they do is drive around an enoty wasteland consuming useless junk!
What I will never understand is their lack of faith in the 3D platformer, when MARIO is right there, raking in the cash like it always has. People love these types of games, and banjo went the extra mile to differentiate itself enough from Mario to both appeal to that base, while growing and maintaining its own. The cognitive dissonance is just astounding. Frankly, I think they should embrace the self aware remake concept based on Gruntys final lines from nuts and bolts. She could attempt to remake the original story to change reality in her favor, so essentially take the time travel concept of the gba title but allow the story a ton of room to expand and grow organically. Either that or sell the IP to someone who actually cares about it.
Nuts and bolts was fun. I’ve enjoyed all of the banjo Kazooie games and personally loved the player creativity and expression that nuts and bolts enabled.
I gotta go against as much distaste there is for Nuts and Bolts. I think it needs to be viewed as a spinoff, not a mainline title. Similar to Breath of the Wild 1&2. Those aren't even Zelda games anymore, so you have to view them as their own title/genre. That being said, I unironically think Nuts and Bolts is more fun as a 'lego creator style' than BotW2. I fervently hate BotWs though; I played Nuts and Bolts on release and as much as I hated their spit in the face attitude at the start, at least the creativity you could engage in was fun. I can't even grant BotW (1&2) that.
Canary mary is only bad if you dont understand how rubber band AI works. when you do, its the easiest and most exploitable thing ever. Boggy was also this way, it just wasn't as bad because it was so short in comparison.
You couldn't possibly be more right about the audience still being there. We are in the nostalgia era, now is the perfect time! Rare is out of touch.

Came back to say this has been my favorite banjo retrospective.
Glad to see this video getting some attention. This channel deserves more imo but keep up the great work man!
Rusty Fuckit Bay.... I will never call the level by its proper name again. LMAO
I like the format and content of the video. I was surprised the channel has so few subs. Well, here is one from me. Keep up the good work.
Man the nostalgia. Banjo is my favorite N64 game of all time! Great video man, I subscrined!
Subscribed just because this video is amazingly put together! Also love the game!

banjo series have a exclusive soundtrack only when youre under water. That was so fucking nice
What an amazing retrospective! Thank you for your hard work and let's pray for a new Banjo-Kazooie game 🙏
Got a sub from me my man. This is exactly the stuff I'm doing over on my channel and it's great to see another small channel clearly trying to do great things. Great video and good luck!
I understand your Yellow Eyes joke. I am also old...
20:58 The music that plays when you enter the water and Snacker the Shark appears is cardiac arrest inducing. I love the level but Snacker the shark gives me some nightmares.
This was a great retrospective 🚢
Thank you TitanFan97
Great work!
Good work! Lots of folks shared this in my discord :)
I still like Tooie a lot. But, I also never tried to get all the Jiggys.
Great video! I can’t believe you don’t have more subscribers!
When you started naming platformers I subbed up 💯💯💯
Great video about the bear and bird. 👍
I’m currently finally fully playing this game, just made it to Clankers Cavern!! I was born the year it came out and I remember as a kid the farthest I had gotten was just beating mumbo mountain cause my cousins would hog the controller
Whenever I want to be put in a good mood, I head into either Treasure Trove Cove or Freezeezey Peak and just chill out and vibe to the tunes.
love BK.... I would 100% play a new BK game if they kept it in line with the origional 2.... its why Yooka-Laylee took off, despite the mistakes they made
I only watch gaming videos that are at least an hour long. Thank you!
What a fantastic video! So much great meanful detail jam packed into it! You, my good content creator, are the epidome of underrated. KEEP IT UP 👏 😅
It's "epitome" 😅
@@Meandmyshadowclones Sorry. I was so excited that my brain just stopped working. Such a good video.
I love Clanker's Cavern!
Especially the songs in that level!
Everyone knows that diddy Kong racing was broken when you figured out you get extra boost without being on the gas
Rusty Bucket Bay can kiss my ass with its engine room, but goddamn the soundtrack slaps so hard.
Top 3 N64 games: Ocarina of Time, Banjo-Kazooie and Diddy Kong Racing. Banjo-Kazooie is oozing with charm and is so fun to play, one of the best platformers ever for sure!
Really well made video! Maybe you can zalk about yooka-laylee in another video
I would also say this is my fav gaming soundtrack from a composing standpoint. Actual soundtrack wise I’d pick between tony hawk 2, San Andreas or vice city
Banjo kazooie is one of my all time favorite games
I totally agree the music is amazing you hit the nail on the head .
I'll talk the same way you did with banjo kazooie about spyro trilogy even if it's not from my childhood
Hey Arin, super big Banjo-Kazooie Fan here!
first of all. damn what a video! i love it! i love that you put DKR in a Banjo-Kazooie Video, cause i always thought about it this way: first the events of DKR are happening, then Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64 and then Tooie. i love to think its a good Rareware Story!
to Wizpigs second Race. i think you should give it another try, even though you hit something. i think its much easier than his first Race (try the first Race with Krunch, you will need therapy after this)
im SORRY in advance, for somebody who claims to know everything in this game, your gameplay is pretty bad. seeing how you tiptoe through the engine room, and jumping through these fans with Banjo.
I LOVE IT! i dont know how old you are, (you said you didnt have Tooie as a kid) but for me and my friends back then. there was no world so challenging and mindblowing as GI.
i was one of those kids, who just didnt know how to enter it (although its very obvious) but this led to the craziest schoolyard theories and fantasies. i will never forget how my friends came over to my house, to see what the problem was. its one of my favourite memories. the moment we end up in the factory was so awesome. and then the maze begins. i can totally understand how frustrating this level can be. especially for people who enter it for the first time. but for me! i love it! i know it sounds weird. but i was stuck in this level for so long, that i started to love it and i know the layout like the back of my hand. just a few weeks ago i completed tooie for the xxx time and i scheduled my gaming time, to beat this level on a friday night, i made an event out of it. i was preparing food. some cold drinks and my fiance was watching me. i tried to beat as much as i can as Banjo and Kazooie seperated + i was trying to grab as much items and Jinjos as Mumbo, too! the jiggy behind the fan is one of the Highlights for me!!
i love this game!! and for canary mary. the first race in Cloud Cuckoland was not that hard, but the second one was. me and friends found out, that if you stay behind her for the whole time she wont speed up, just when you go down to where you start ( at about the Zubba Statue) you need to hit the Button as fast as you can ( i am a Mario Party Veteran, so no problem for me)
for the buyout.
to this day i like to imagine what if, Nintendo would have bought Rare.
maybe there would be another Banjo. For gamecube. this would be awesome, cause i love the Gamecube!
Gruntys Revenge is a pretty solid Game, i can even imagine this on a console with better graphics.
the Soundtrack is pretty good, there are some nice remastered version on youtube
Banjo Pilot was ok, i love the Duels.
and finally, Nuts and Bolts..
from my first earned Money i bought an 360, just for Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts
and it was the biggest dissapointment ever. i just dont like it. even if people say its just a bad banjo game, but not a bad game at all.
i cant. i just cant stand LOG and this dumb Tiger. i dont like the artstyle and besides Banjo Land. all the levels were pretty boring.
the Soundtrack is very good though, Kirkhope just know how a Banjo Game needs to sound.
and for your conclusion!
wow Arin, those were some fine words! i got goosebumbs on my goosebumbs! i just dont get it, how Rare just cant see us Banjo-Fans!
the message you send is clear, you speak for all of us! i hope Gregg Mayles will give this Bear and Bird another Chance! even as a remake!
what an awesome video!
thank you!
Love how this is a giant love letter, but in the middle there's a roast of his gameplay skills to remind the readers this is Grunty speaking. 😂
The idea of Banjo X basically came back as Final Fantasy 7 Remake. 😂
Not gonna lie, I was so into your review of DKR that I completely forgot this was about Banjo 😂 Great video!
I still think protecting the pig is one of the hardest tasks.
You wanna know something else funny?
Megaman getting into Smash lead to Megaman 11
Solid Snake coming back lead to the Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake
But for Banjo, there’s nothing new to look forward to for the series it’s amazing how Rare somehow still wasn’t convinced that there’s no audience with the all the reactions to Banjo getting revealed for Smash, even K. Rool hasn’t appeared in a new game since Nintendo doesn’t know what to do with Donkey Kong and is reselling Country Returns for $60 on Switch, it’s not even video games, K. Rool isn’t even present in the DK Theme Park.
banjo and kazooie in nuts and bolts makes them look like 40 year old discord mods 💀
The N64 was my 4th home console. I loved Mario and Zelda on the NES, I loved the Sonic trilogy, and I loved the DKC trilogy. All that said, Banjo-Kazooie is my favorite N64 game, and it's not very close.
I love Nuts and Bolts!
I love Banjo-Kazooie!
Finally, someone who likes banjo kazooie and Majoras mask!
Unpopular opinion... Rusty bucket bay is my favorite level in the game. I have a shirt that says "Rusty bucket bay company" with 312-111 on it.
Hour long video essay made by some nerdy white guy my beloved
Commenting for engagement and the likes, really liked this video man :)
I share the same exact sentiments about kazooie and similar ones to tooie, I just had a different experience because I grew up with tooie as well.
Based
27:37 only night level? Freezeezy Peak, Bubble Gloop Swamp, and Winter CCW would like you to look up at their dark skies, :P
I say let Rare make the level looks like it's in night
it's just obvious in mad monster mansion and witchyworld
even you don't realize that until you saw the sky box right?
@@7hndo_89 Bubblegloop Swamp felt dark, especially when I played on my dark old TV, lol
Plus the crickets and frog sounds made it feel night like,
Freezeezy Peak however could’ve had darker snow or something, the flight aspects help you see it’s dark though,
@joey5745 I'm sorry I've played kazooie and tooie this year for the first time in my bright and colorful phone screen so I don't notice :)
For the birdie race things. NEVER button mash, go slow birdie keeps your pace, when it is coming to an end is where you start mashing.
If only Rare saw this video. I think it would win them over and make them seriously think about making a new Banjo game that doesn’t stink
All the Banjo people left to make Yooka-Laylee, will Microsoft buy Playtonic next?
I somehow doubt it. None of the folks who made up rare in the late 90'a/ early 2000's no longer work there. It might as well be a different company.
Rare: Sure... whatever you say buddy.
You’re right. The industry is so fucked.
Fantastic game!
Oh well.
The dramatic ending holy shit 😂
I'm a B&K fan and I'm still here Rare. Please.
It's so upsetting how Rare is insulting Banjo and Kazooie fans! We want Threeie!
Woah, did we just go through the whole of Mad Monster's Mansion and NOT talk about the flowerpot audio? How can you skip that XD?
15 minutes in and I thought I was watching a Banjo-Kazooie video 😅
Kazooie... we're home."
Now let them stay home, give those characters back to someone that treats them with respect.
Omg i cant believe you waited so long to play tooie! These games were my childhood, i want a 3rd one so bad.
As a wise fellow once said, people would've loved Nuts & Bolts if it wasn't tied to (and roasting) the Banjo IP.
@@autobotstarscream765 I agree with the association, but the roasting is SO in line with Rare's style it's almost like people who complain about that aren't really Rare fans. I get the sentiment behind letting that annoy you, but it just doesn't make sense to me.
Have u seen the new 3d platformer Bolt Bot Screwy Viruses? It looks a bit like a N64 platformer.
Mr. opportunity when you were talking about jolly Roger to say grunty Poison into the water supply and the frogs are gay
Nuts and Bolts. Banjo Kazooie: Car Dependency Edition.
It's like a European or Asian who is used to lively places where fun is a short walk away moving to America and finding all they do is drive around an enoty wasteland consuming useless junk!
Did DKR come before or after Lego Racer?
Nuts and Bolts was surprisingly fun
Nuts and bolts was fun. I’ve enjoyed all of the banjo Kazooie games and personally loved the player creativity and expression that nuts and bolts enabled.
Rusty Bucket is such a great level everyone hates on it :<
Also I see you enjoy A Christmas Story too good taste 🥳
Ok but why don't you have more subscribers 😤😤😤❤️
You haven’t played sea of thieves? Crazy
