Hey guys! One little error fix - when baba does her slow shadow attack, you count to 5 ticks (not 4)! Sorry about that! Red X is a mechanic where if you do a red x click (clicking on an item on the ground, clicking on baba, etc.) at the time that baba is trying to attack you, she does the fast shadow attack instead of attacking you. If you do it the whole fight you can take 0 damage. Baba also can’t throw boulders or spawn monkeys while she’s stuck in the red x cycle so you don’t have to deal with those mechanics in the fight.
Is this possible with some adaptation for walk only? I'd rather not have to shift and then cntrl, if you have run off can you just step 1 tile under in and then attack?
As far as I'm aware you need to have run on to quickly step 2 tiles under baba before she has time to reposition. You could manually flick run off and attack instead of CTRL attacking, but that sounds even worse haha
I actually just figured out how to do this recently. Might be a bit hard to explain over text but basically what you can do to drag baba is right when she attacks you on that same tick she swipes her paw, you move 1-2 tiles away, and then click under her as soon as you get there, and walk attack as normal. It will continue the red x but drag her a tile in that direction. Hopefully that makes sense, if not I can always hop in game sometime and show you!
This method is more consistent as once you have the timing/muscle memory down you can red x from anywhere on the map without any setup or dropping any items. It just takes a bit of time to learn when to click, but then you're golden :)
Thanks dude! You don't need a 5 tick weapon, it works with any weapon (Can even use bofa for example). The only thing that 5 tick weapons help with is the initial start up strategy of clicking into baba after the second attack to instantly get into the cycle

Right! As soon as I found that option it's been the only way I use metronome. Too hard to focus when it's in other places for me as well

do you count from the blast or the occurrence of the shadow on the ground?

I usually run mind the gap and can mostly do this version of red-x okay, but i struggle kiting the boss to the sides and keeping red-x going any tips?

Nope! She attacks much faster in p3 so that's why it's only 2 ticks :)
