I'm brazilian and can confirm that seeing it again feels good man. So sorry for EU fans, but it was historical for us.

I think Albus Nox deserves its own video. Its almost criminal how underrated and underappreciated they are
This video was made in a bit of a rush to get out before Play-Ins of Worlds 2020 started so there's a few things I left out. I hope you guys still enjoyed the video though and are looking forward to more. I'm working really hard to bring more quality content to you. Also there were 2 notable errors:
-I swapped the seeding for the 2015 Worlds group. CLG was the #1 NA seed and KOO was the #2 KR seed.
-J-Teams loss at the end DID prevent a three-way tiebreaker that would have given them a chance to get out of groups. So that loss did mean a lot and the streak extends from 2014-2019
Wasn't season 2 won by the wild card team that resulted in Taiwan being given a server and becoming one of the "major" regions?
@@TooTechnicalDev No, South East Asia was given it's own servers back in ~2010 when Riot licensed the game to Garena. Garena created 5 servers that localized the game for each region in SEA. The Taiwan/Hong Kong/Macau server (LMS) was competitive enough that they were given a seed directly into the bracket (bypassing groups) at season 2 worlds.
Wasn't SKT the number 1 seed in 2015, and not KOO? I thought the Tigers were number 1 in 2016. You say that KOO was first seed at 12:40

At 9.40 you said koo tigers was korea seed 1 and clg was na seed 2. It was switched around CLG was na seed 1 and Koo was seed 2 from korea.

The Wildcards have been some of the most entertaining teams to watch at Worlds for a long time. Albus Nox and Gigabyte Marines jump straight to mind. Forget the big teams, I wanna watch the wildcards.

it's cool seeing how those wildcard teams have basically "nothing to lose but everything to gain" and flip expectations. it's crazy.
At this point, I have such an innate trust in your content's quality that you are one of the few channels whose videos I like before I even watch.
Sadly you didn't show 2018 play ins, they where one of the most impresive for all smaller regions..

Many rip wildcards for what they are, yet everyone loves an underdog story when they achieve something great because its just that much more special.
Honestly GAM 2017 was just insanity. Their strategies were so creative and it's a shame they didn't get out of groups because they really deserved it over Fnatic. I will never forget the absolute legendary double jungle game to get the early nocturne level 6. That was probably one of the craziest plays I've ever seen in professional league. I mean their jungler Levi actually played for JDG for a split some time later.

Gbay is more focused on making better videos and I think the title is part of it. It does sound better without "at LoL worlds" even if it is not favored by the algorithm.

You’re so underrated in the League TH-cam community man. I hope you continue to make these type of videos. I really enjoyed this one, the ANX run in 2016 still gives me chills.
As always, the pacing of this video is absolutely perfect, even with the information about how the other regions evolved and the (not so) subtle minor spoilers that foreshadow the results you manage to make it hype. Every documentary is entertaining, well-informed and brings out emotions in some way.
Editing is on point as always. As soon as the screen starts fading to black and Gbay says something like "or so it seemed..." you KNOW it's gonna get epic. Congrats on one more awesome documentary

I was there in San Francisco to watch the 2016 group stages and it was incredible to be there. Great job Gbay. Just watching your video brought back those same chills and excitement I had then. It’s moments like this that stick with you forever and you did a great job of capturing that excitement in your video!

@Gbay99 I still remember when I discover your chanel back in the days of season 3 when I used to main top lane, and watch your videos for the amazing analysis and great tips you gave to improve as a player, so many years later and everything you put out (specially documentaries) have been a most watch at least for me, I guess I wanna say thank your for the great content and I know you went trough phases where you don't know if continuing with something or changing but I will like to say (and I know a lot of people will agree) anything that you actually put the great mind and spirit you have for the game, be a documentary or other type of video, will always be a most watch for a lot of people like me.

Boy, Im brazilian, I play since 2013, i actually watched pain lose to gaming gear(the first wildcard that he showed, imagine my sorrow "oh if kami did that" xD) Im so hyped, INTZ its login good this year, a lot of rumors at least.
@@GamePlayMaligno I am so jealous of you, as someone from Argentina the LAS teams always disapoint and beign honest we never have, probably never will be a strong region. Brazil has those moments of pure brighteness that get me so excited but we, can't even get to group stage.

I have so many memories from season 6 worlds as I just started playing league regularly about a month before, so I had just started to get to know the game, and watching with a friend who gave me a run down of the teams made it that much better.
If not for that I probably wouldn't have started watching esports for a long time, if at all. The ANX run and ROX vs SKT series made it such a memorable event for me and now I rewatch the ANX upsets and ROX/SKT series before worlds every year now.
Worlds has been the highlight of the year for me ever since and I never count out the wildcards and underdogs after seeing ANX.
Another fantastic video Gbay. youre making the best actual CONTENT in the scene right now. edit: meaning anything thats not gameplay or podcasts/talkshows

I liked how the qualifier worked because Wildcard teams could be the winners of a championship there, since you were only fighting wildcards, unlike nowdays where there is always a major team in your group to crush you.

In Vietnam, we call wild card teams "leg-choppers" (gạt giò), as in our representative's role in the tournament is not to win, but to make as many teams lose as possible.
I love watching wildcards at worlds, they always make things fun and unexpected.
Just look this year both UOL, PSG and SUP are looking to go to the group stage

Loved the doc, as always. I've enjoyed seeing the 'Wildcard' teams thus far this year - PSG Talon obviously has the wild storyline with the subs, UoL has brought out some interesting drafts (that have worked), R7 could knock out LGD, and Legacy has a shot to be the first OPL team at the main event. It has been extremely fun so far, who knows what will happen next!
It looks like adding major regions teams to play-ins just lowered a lot the chances for another wildcard crazy story at worlds, it just shows the Riot don't care enough about them
I dont know, I think its way better for competition to have a team that definitely has a chance of doing stuff, as opposed to having a wildcard that maaaaybe will win a game that matters. If wildcards really deserve to play in worlds, they can just win in play-ins and show it.
@@Jans6ever the old format despite having less seeds had a lot more international games for wildcard regions to play and try to develop against other regions, the current one looks more like riot is trying to just get rid of them more faster, for some regions like Brazil, LLA or OPL is like trying to put a baby to ride a bicycle
