Soap & Clay is a family owned business operating in Washington State, but started out online thanks to Mrs. Soap & Clay's kickass brother and his amazing web design skills. The business was started as a tribute to Mrs. Soap & Clay's grandmother, the OG maker in the family that cultivated everyone's love for the DIY life. The studio/retail shop opened in 2017 on 6th Ave in Tacoma, and immediately began teaching soap, bath bomb, lotion, and scrub classes to the makers and maker enthusiasts of the PNW. In 2019, the pottery studio opened as well, making the soap shop a busy place full of artistic energy every minute of the day.
Mrs. Soap & Clay has been featured on Business Spotlight, New Day Northwest, and was awarded a coveted place on the South Sound's 40 under 40 list in 2019, an award given to the most influential business people under the age of 40 each year. She cried when she walked up to the podium to accept the award. A lot.
Drawing from her chemistry background and her maker spirit, Mrs. Soap & Clay infuses her favorite things into her soapy designs and creates products that are fun to see, use, and learn to make. Stick around for this ride - she'll take you on a great one.

Well, I really didn't think that dark soap paste would turn out so lovely and white. Amazing! Can't wait to give it a try.
Very helpful video. Thanks so much. LOVED IT! ❤
I have used your old soap paste recipe and made liquid soap, whipped soap and whipped sugar soap scrubs with it.
Also made a fresh batch using milk as per your latest recipe.
It turned out SO GOOD. Thanks a ton for your wonderful content.
🤣🤣at the piping!
🤔 Shaving cream for hubby. Nice idea for some of my new paste.
I love the piping skills you showed us all! You are awesome! I’m not any better at that myself lol 😂 so I can relate!
So I did buy the Stephen’s whipped base like a year ago and it was horribly expensive then and it was before I found your channel and found out we can make our own for so much cheaper. I didn’t like it. It was way too thick and I didn’t like all the extra ingredients in it too. I still have 2 lbs of it laying around somewhere in the black whole section of my storage shelves 😂. I made your earlier paste recipe and absolutely love those whipped scrubs I made! Sooo much better than what I bought pre made, not even the same thing really. I’m so excited to make this paste and bases for the croaps and the scrubs!
I wanted to say that I LOVE the longer videos. I think they are great and you give us so much information I really love them and appreciate you for doing all this! ❤️
I got to give this a try. I absolutely LOVE your other soap paste and have turned that into a sugar scrub and liquid soap. But with coconut milk I have to give that a try. I would also love to use the paste and replace the water with brewed coffee to give it a coffee sugar scrub.
need to start a "we don't pipe" club
AGREED!
Lol
lol😂😂😂
im already firmly in that camp!
Another great video! I did make a soap paste then into a sugar scrub and it is amazing will try the alternative liquid maybe a brewed coffee works? With sugar and then coffee grounds as well? I wonder if it matters what grind you use?
Thank you for the video! I would also like to know what preservative I can use for this please 😊
Thank you for being you! And showing us these wonderful skills! I try all your recipes. I love your shampoo bars!
You’re a gem, you make me laugh. Thanks, very valuable video 😊
Hi, can you please tell me what kind of preservatives I can use in this recipe, thank you! ❤
I am so excited to give this a try.....have been wanting to make a whipped soap for a long time but been intimidated by the dual lye. Wondering if tallow and frozen goat milk can be used instead of palm and powdered milks? Has anyone done any successful substitutions?
Thanks! I love your videos!! Definitely gonna try this one!
Absolutely brilliant vid... Love it 😂
Omg! My arms and legs don’t look like they’re connected to the same body! My tan lines are hilarious.
Thank you so much for this! I cant wait to try it!
Let us know how it goes!
Is there ANY WAY to make all this without using preservatives & still be an acceptably safe product to use on our skin?
i need to compare this to your old recipe cause I always had issues with deflating when i shipped it in warm weather
I'm not sure if you have already done this but have you ever thought about doing a deep dive into why clays are so good for skin and hair?
Hey! I think we’ve done a few videos on the benefits of clay.
@@MrsSoapAndClay ah okay, sorry. I probably missed it. I know you talk about clay a lot though and honestly it got me looking into it. Your videos gave me confidence to make my own soap so I appreciate it. 😊

Looks like you’re mixing concrete. 😂
Thank you!
Hey Mrs ... can we pipe shave croap into aluminum cups with lids? or should it always go into plastic or glass?
Thank you
I'm always looking for a coconut oil exchange...I'm allergic to coconut and it sucks to make product that ya can't even use...
I get it! Follow @Not So Typical Soaps and More for coconut free ideas! She’s a wealth of knowledge.

Yep… that’s me. This is my second channel.😊
Bulk Apothecary is cheapest for Stephensons. Just an FYI. And they have palm only (no coconut).
But it’s really easy to make your own now too.😂
So would this also be a detox scrub?
Can we use goat milk in this recipe? Cant use coconut milk 😢
Just don’t forget the preservative. I can relate to the inability to use coconut anything.
I tried the Stephensons and I was not super impressed, I can’t figure out what all the hype is about. I’m happy for everyone who loves it but… meh 🤷🏻♀️ I’d rather make my own
Will this melt in heat? Like summer or will it stay whipped?
Hi, I was looking at Joining the clan and had a question on the "Sudsers Supreme" level. Are you always part of the "Virtual video collaborations" and how frequent are they? also, for the "Access to Discord Server - Recipes, Chat, etc!", are the recipes the same ones in the videos or are they different, more complete etc...? Thanks!!
Hey! All good questions. The live videos have been sparse this year; tons going on and never enough time to do it. Hoping to get rocking again once the rain starts and forces me to stop building the house. 😂 Recipes in the discord are both stuff I’ve done on the channel as well as stuff I haven’t posted, and there’s lots of cheat sheets for fatty acid profiles, recipe subs, etc.
And all the sudsers all give each other pointers and some of us share recipes.😊
The Sudsers are so awesome!
Can I use Himalayas salt instead of sugar?
I would use fine ground so it’s not as rough.
How well would salt work in place of sugar?
Regular salts are good, epsom salts will create a mess of soap scum in a container.
What’s croap?
Hey! It’s a shaving soap, part shaving cream, part soap.
