Possible not in your area of information but there was a few air crashes in this area one of which was only one field away from Foolow village. Also there is a lead mine running at the bottom of the south side of Bretton ridge (Foolow side) which can produce sink holes when the workings collapse. My grandfather farmed in Tideswell from 1935 to 1960 at Summer Cross/Monksdale Lane crossroads. Is known (local press) for loosing a cow up a tree, found when the leaves fell off the tree and finding a UFO (weather balloon cargo from Manchester airport 1950's)
