Hello everyone, hope you have enjoyed our guide. We have a small correction to make following some new information. The bus stop that we reference as a former Clink or overnight prison cell, was actually the former blacksmiths! I guess it does make sense with the buildings out the back behind the building. The wonders of social media allow us to get the correct information.

@@MemorySeekers Yes it was lovely. Our visit happened during a promotion that the National Trust had going, "Lacock as Propaganda". It seems Winston Churchill, during WWII, had photos of Lacock printed and circulated saying this is the England we are fighting for. Even Churchill thought Lacock was the quintessential English village. How cool is that? And my wife and I just stumbled into the place at that time and were amazed at how well it is preserved and how beautiful it is.
I stayed at The Sign of the Angel several times. One of the most unique bathtubs was under a low beam that could have caused a concussion if you arose too quickly. Also the large entrance to the hotel was to allow horses to walk through to the back so that lodgers horses were off the street. My room, which I have a photo of, had a blackened beam right in the middle. The food in the restaurant was outstanding. This was one of my all time favorite hotels. Jane, Philadelphia
