After 50yrs i went back to the village for a look a couple of weeks ago. Hardly recognised the place due to the amount of housing. On seeing bell lane chippy still there, brought back some good memories. Slowly working my way through your videos

Ive been through Oakington many times having grown up in nearby Girton. The "Oakington Martyrs" was news to me!

Driffield agricultural show and the Steam fair are well worth a visit.

Just up Wilsford Lane, there's a house called the Old Bakehouse. No prizes for guessing what it used to be, but interestingly the old ovens are still present inside, complete with manufacturers markings. Just thought you might find that interesting.

Great video. My Mum lives in Cranswick, her father was born and lived on Mill Street, Hutton, he had 10 siblings one of which was Herbert Johnson author of A Tale of Two Villages. The clock you were looking for is a sun dial clock on the site of the old school on the village green. It’s flat on the ground so you have to look down to see it. It’s close to where you were stood near the telephone box which has recently been converted into a take-one, leave-one library. You’ll have to come back for another look! 😊

Hi Andy, just binged watched the first 7 episodes in this series, and followed you on google maps seeing as most of these villages, i'll never visit!

Fantastic video both. Would love more big specials like this on big occasions.

I often walk the dog and we encounter roads like this with views like this but I'll happily say this again.....the English countryside is amazing 🙂

I understand what you mean about the driving, I was on holiday on the Isle of Skye in May and the Scottish Highlands, although beautiful, has some very difficult and dodgy roads. One island I drove on was the Isle of Raasay, located just off Skye and reached by ferry, where all the roads are few and narrow. Not to mention the potholes and poor road conditions in certain parts.

Did you not fancy driving down to look inside the aircraft museum? I know it's private property but I assume you can just drive to the car park and pay the admission fee, to look inside the museum?

Great episode! So interesting to see parts of London that we would probably walk past without a second thought. The plaques in Postman’s Park were very poignant. Bet you slept well that night. PS. Love Nicky’s new haircut.

Ohh what a lovely village to grow up in. I didn't realise how old it was or the airfield in the 2nd war. It must have been a sight all the planes taking off and hopefully returning. Many thanks.

I grew up in Keyworth in the 50's and 60''s. It was a lovely place to live. My Mum and Dad are buried in that graveyard where you ended up. Great to see that most of the beautiful old buildings have survived the ravages and realities of the modern aesthetic. Even the "Wimpey estate" doesn't look too bad now that it has some roof moss and aging. Though I've lived in Canada for nearly 50 years and none of my relatives or friends still live there, Keyworth still feels like my true home. Thanks for the trip, literally down memory lane.

I take pity on anyone that comes across that smell....that's got to be what evil smells like 🙂
