I met Fred in the mid 90s while working in Colorado. Floated and fished with him on the Blue River and spent a couple of visits to the Keys fishing the pointy end of his skiff in the mid 90s as well. The Tarpon were always rude as hell when I fished with Fred and never ate, no matter how many we saw! A true character of the Keys for sure and always rolling barefoot in his office! Great guy right there! Really fun to hear his story and psyched he is hitting the road for new adventures!
