    It's not different dosages, as she stated at the end. It's exactly the same as Mounjaro with all the same dosaging structure - 2.5 up 15. It just now has a different brand name to be marketed specifically for weight loss.

      Correct. We know this, why don’t the doctors come on these programs find out the facts before they come on!. It always amazes me how incorrect people are when talking about medications. I know it’s only nearly on the market got approval the other day, but Eli Lily put out a statement talking about the drug and it dosages. It is Wegovy, at its highest dosage that is different from the diabetes, Med Ozempic.

      @@hosnakawusi2165 - Retail for Mounjaro is anywhere from $1000 to $1200 per month. Not all insurance will cover it. My prior insurance finally started to 5 months ago with a $30 copay. My new insurance covers it with a $75 copay.

    i tried to get Zepbound from Sequence but my insurance denied it, list price maybe $1050 but retailers have it listed from $1250-1400. Even with the savings card which is max of 500-550 if your commercial incsurance denies it you would get it for like 700-1000. I don't mind paying 2-300 maybe 400 max. But 700-1400 is a big NO!

      Yeah it costed me almost $1300 at Walgreens. I am retired military on TRICARE. They won’t cover it and because it is considered government insurance program I can’t get the discount cards.

    She got absolutely everything right except the very last thing she said. 😬
    That said, Eli Lilly *is* currently testing higher dosages (currently in Phase 2 clinical trials I think).
    But there’s no guarantee that higher dosages will make it through said clinical trials and make it to market… if the side effects are too bad, say, then they won’t get approved.

    Wouldn't it be nice if people didn't use This one for "a few extra pounds" but for the serious condition for which it's meant? 😃

    • @cloakster
      @cloakster 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

      If you’re talking ‘cosmetic’ weight loss, aka 5-10 pounds, then yes.
      But if you’re talking obesity, aka severely overweight, a condition that can have many serious co-morbidities… then I’d say meds like this for weight-loss are very much needed, and obese ppl should be on them if they’re willing and it’s at all possible.
      Zepbound is actually indicated for weight-loss, if it was unclear.

    • @johnd.zephyr2531
      @johnd.zephyr2531 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@cloakster Yeah I believe he's saying that people shouldn't be using it for the cosmetic use, taking up all prescriptions and leaving none for the people that actually need it. Similar to what happened with Ozempic, people needing it for diabetes but not getting it cuz it became a fad weight loss drug

    • @cloakster
      @cloakster 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@johnd.zephyr2531 Yes, I think I acknowledged that.
      But it should be noted that obesity itself can be a serious condition, with many very significant co-morbidities: heart attack, stroke, several types of cancer, liver disease, kidney disease, joint damage, etc etc.
      I’m in favor of ppl taking it for cosmetic reasons being sent to ‘the back of the line’, but not necessarily all obese ppl, as some of them are quite sick and in great need as well.
