She doesn’t. Within 2 years time she’s going to be singing a different tune and saying she was wrong. People have been on the early version (Victoza/Saxenda) for over ten years, they’ve been on it quietly, and some of them have been selling people keto meal plans and workout plans without revealing that they also used a glp1 to get their physique.

Nothing against Jillian Michaels, but her arguments might be better received if she demonstrated appropriate conduct during the discourse with other professionals, and if a "healthier lifestyle" i.e. diet and exercise was reasonably attainable by a majority of Americans. She acted self righteous, irritating and interruptive to the point of the host saying that microphones might be muted. I was wanting to hear her "side" but quickly tuned out due to her manner. In the absence of a overwhelming desire or sustainable results from "diet and exercise", the next step should be to actively treat obese patients and achieve weight loss sufficient to reduce incidence of diabetes progression and reduce morbidity. That alone might be an incentive to get on the "healthier lifestyle" wagon.

We have so much obesity in America because our public transportation is JUNK. Give us sidewalks. Give us functioning bus lines. Get rid of food deserts. Make costs of groceries less expensive. Make it affordable for people to go out and buy organic and non-processed food. Make rent cheaper so that people don't feel like they have to work three jobs just to pay the bills, thereby limiting the amount of time they have at home to make a home-cooked meal instead of eating fast food. There is so much going on systemically that can solve this crisis RIGHT NOW if we focus on these things rather than filling the pockets of big pharmas and doctors with money. I understand that some people feel like this is the only immediate option they have so I don't judge the individual for their choices, but instead I judge the people who have the power and influence to fight for a long term solution for these systemic issues.
They don't want it to happen, though, because then they'll lose out on money they make off of everyone else's suffering.

I can only talk about my own experience but I grew up in a household where my mother cooked whole fresh food, we ate a lot of salads, no dessert except on special occasions, and generally had a very healthy lifestyle.
My mother and my two brothers were skinny as rakes while my father and I struggled with our weight. I was first put on a diet at the age of 5.
I was always hungry and I had no off switch. I dieted and exercised and tried so hard to lose weight I even became bulimic. I gained an lost 30-40 pounds over and over again, eating healthy foods, just too much of them.
After 50 years of struggle I started on a GLP1 and it has changed my life.
I no longer think about food 24 hours a day, I feel full after eating a normal portion of food and finally have my weight under control. You have no idea of the freedom this has given me from the lifelong battle I fought every day not to put too much food in my body.
I will be on this medication for the rest of my life as it balances the hormones that are missing in me naturally.

Her A1C is finally under control on Ozempic, and it's helping her kidney disease too. A high protein diet doesn't work well for patients with chronic kidney disease.

In one month on the introductory dose I lost 15 pounds and my blood sugar went normal. I was a sweet hound. Doughnuts, cookies , chocolate I craved it all. My side effects have been relatively mild. Food does not sit in my stomach for days. I am way healthier in one month it has been highly effective. It is proven to address fatty liver, reduce inflammation, reduce blood sugar, and yes lose weight. These new GLP1- agonists are highly effective for more indications. Why are the people who are not physicians so irate and combative? It’s scary how ignorant Jillian and Calle are about hormones, neurotransmitters and all things medical. I have been eating plant based for 8 years and I bike 60-80miles a week and do strength training. Ever since I was thrown into chemical menopause because of breast cancer, I’ve struggled with weight gain. My cholesterol has been over 240 for years but not because of my LDLs which are below 100 and my triglycerides are 38 but my HDL is 145. Yes that’s the good cholesterol but because of it, my cholesterol is high. I don’t understand why people are trying to shame people taking these medications. What about my body my choice. You have no idea the emotional impacts these meds have had on people. They finally tell people that they aren’t weak or lazy or without will power. It’s shameful that people are so up in arms about this. This black or white thinking is so ignorant. There’s rarely a one size fits all solution in life.

These were created to be diabetes drugs. If you have diabetes, then the benefits of good blood sugar control and weight loss probably outweigh the risks. If you don't have diabetes, you should think about limiting your time on these medications to 6 months and perhaps utilize them to get a jump start on your weight loss journey. But there is no way around it, when you discontinue these GLP1 agonists, your appetite WILL return.

No, these are not created drugs. Peptides are natural to our bodies and GLP ones are Peptides. The thing the drug companies are making money on are the delivery devices not the drugs by the way it’s not a drug. It is something that cannot be patented and we all have them in our bodies and some of us have less than we need so this could be why some of us benefit quite a bit from having, the Peptides

    @eastonairmedia หลายเดือนก่อน

Jillian Michels’ insights on obesity, diet, exercise, and sleep are, without a doubt, some of the most accurate approaches we have today. However, despite her thorough understanding of these topics, her views are too idealistic, failing to fully consider the societal and environmental influences that many of us face daily. Yes, in an ideal world, we would all follow her advice to a T-but the reality is far more complicated.
One of the biggest challenges is understanding that food can act like a powerful drug. Ultra-processed foods are designed to be hyper-palatable, which makes resisting them incredibly difficult. The grit, willpower, and careful planning required to build and maintain a healthy diet in today's world is not something to take lightly. It’s tough, especially when these foods are everywhere, and we’re constantly exposed to messages that make unhealthy eating seem normal.
While I respect and agree with much of what Michels says, we need to inject a dose of realism into the conversation. On any weight loss journey or when trying to make lasting changes to our health, temptation is always around the corner. It's easy to get derailed by social events, where ultra-processed foods are abundant. Whether it's a gathering with friends, a work event, or even a quick dinner out, these environments often present foods that are hard to resist. And for many, these little indulgences can quickly snowball into bigger setbacks. Michels is right that, in an ideal situation, we’d always bring our own meals, make careful choices, and resist the temptation. But how realistic is that in a world full of fast food, convenience items, and constant social gatherings?
The constant presence of unhealthy food options and advertising-makes it extremely hard to stick to a clean, healthy eating plan. Breaking through this is one of the most difficult challenges of modern nutrition. It's not just about willpower; it’s about reprogramming how we think about food in a society that encourages unhealthy habits at every turn.
Now, Michels is warning about potential solutions like medications for weight loss. She’s vocal about the risks of relying on drugs like Ozempic, citing serious side effects that can include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and even more severe issues such as gallbladder problems or pancreatic issues. But the reality is, for some people, these medications might offer a much-needed boost to help fight the overwhelming tide of unhealthy food choices and social pressures.
This doesn’t mean Ozempic or similar drugs are a magic bullet-they're far from it. They come with their own set of risks, and Michels is right to point out that medications should never be the first resort. However, in small, controlled doses, these drugs might serve as a tool to help some people bridge the gap between knowing what they need to do and actually being able to do it. The goal isn’t to rely on medication forever, but to use it as part of a broader strategy that includes diet, exercise, and mental resilience in the face of overwhelming external pressures.
While Michels is right about many things, we also need to acknowledge the complexities of modern life. Ultra-processed foods and the societal pressures around them are difficult to avoid. We should strive to reduce our dependence on these foods, but we also need to be kind to ourselves and realistic about how challenging this journey can be. There’s no easy fix, but with a balanced approach-one that includes addressing both the physical and psychological aspects of diet and health-we can find a middle ground between idealism and reality.

What was not mentioned was other factors such as poor/disrupted sleep cycles and stress. At one point in my life, I had a really stressful job (which happened frequently as a special ed. teacher), and wasn't sleeping well. I had severely disrupted sleep cycles... but I ate extremely well, habitually exhibited appropriate portion control, didn't binge eat, avoided sugar and exercised regularly with fidelity (with weights, aquatic PT, and tai chi) - ALL TO NO AVAIL!! The weight wouldn't budge... so I gave up. A few years later after my second total knee replacement surgery, I decided to eat well again. This time, the weight flew off, until I returned to work. My surgery had been postponed by 3 weeks due to covid. I'm convinced I would have kept the weight off if I'd had the proper recovery time. In hindsight, I should have taken a medical leave of absence for 3-5 weeks.

Like all else I dont believe this is a black and white issue. Jillian, proper diet and exercise work but to those who've struggled this just isn't enough nor long lasting. If it was just that simple no one would have a problem. After weight loss the appetite can skyrocket where you feel a total loss of control over appetite and when that happens you are sunk! The weight comes back fast and furious and you end up fatter than where you started. As for the weight loss drugs I guess time will tell If they are truly a miracle or something else but if they help people who have horrible quality of life because they cannot control their weight in the long term by any means tried than this could be the game changer people dreamed of. Again time will tell.

Amazing lol. I moved to Japan last November at 78.2kgs. After 7 months I lost 12kgs. How did I do that? I did it because I don’t have a car, I don’t eat fast food, and I eat home cooked food. I went back to the UK and put on 5kgs in 2 months. I didn’t have a car when I went back to the Uk and followed the recommendation to do 10k steps per day. In my mind you eat healthy food that is not processed and make sure you eat as many different fruit and vegetables as you can each day. In the UK we have a guideline that says 5 a day in terms of fruit and vegetables but in Japan it’s 30. The key is to eat as many different types of food as possible. I’m not a vegan or vegetarian so I’m still eating meat but I’m eating different meat each day. Thanks

Do the people on this panel or any of the other groups that are against it think that Ozempic is good for those with Diabetes or on the path to developing type 2 diabetes? or do they think it’s bad for everyone? I’m genuinely asking…

It happens on its own. For those of you who get regular checkups and bloodwork, I wholeheartedly recommend a fasting insulin level along with your hbA1C. There are other methods to fix obesity than getting a shot or swallowing a pill. A very simple method that is very sustainable is the 5:2 'diet'.

Plus most dr have no clue what seed oils are if you ask them. Basically your on your own to figure all this stuff out and make sure your kids aren't sick before the damage is done.

Knowing all the side effects, if I could get a dr. to prescribe Ozempic to me, I would take it. My bmi is a little too low. But in order to lose weight (with pcos), I literally can only eat 1 meal, no carbs and fast the rest of the day. It's miserable and I only lose .2 lbs a day eating that way. And I exercise.

I was the same way as you. Doctor would not prescribe it to me. I now get mine from Mochi. Look them up. You have to meet with a doctor first virtually and fill out some medical forms, and then they will prescribe you the medication at a very reasonable cost.

@@TherealIndie0625 that cost is not reasonable at all!!! We shouldn't be paying 100+ for meds. It's insane.

This is how big the pharma industry is. For example, any negative comments on this video will get added to a database to which a hit team dispatches to, M-F.

Most people with diabetes or insulin resistance feel a lot BETTER after exercise. NOT worse! I have type 2 and exercise is absolutely magical!

What didn't get mentioned is that the GLP-1 inhibitors also inhibit human growth hormone. Which is going to affect a cascade of other hormones and decrease someones' ability to hold onto muscle mass. Dr. Peter Attia did DEXA scans of his patients using these drugs and found that 2/3 of the weight lost was lean tissue verses 1/3 fat. So these people may actually becoming skinny fat, which significantly decrease metabolism and can lead to all kinds of issues down the road.
