I been on zepbound since March 9th and just increase to 10 mg having a little more side effects when increased to 10 mg. My son and daughter just started on ozempic .50 having side effects and losing weight very slowly when there BMI are 40+ and 50+. Hoping now that they going to be taking last dose of ozempic this Saturday that now that they tried it if we can get a PA approved for mounjaro if they already got approved with ozempic. I don’t like the ozempic pens either with 4 doses in 1 pen. I like the zepbound pens with 1 pen with single injection. When I started on zepbound 2.5 I lost 11 lbs in those first 4 weeks but 5 mg I didn’t lose weight. I am down total of 19.5 lbs right now but my BMI is now 31+ So I don’t have a lot of weight to lose that my adult children with autism need something without all the side effects and more successful in weight loss. Have appt today with there psychiatrist after they both get home from work its virtually. She got the ozempic covered when primary dr wasn’t able to get it covered kept saying that Medicare won’t pay for any weight loss drugs. They also have Medicaid. I was covered under Medicaid but guess there is only 1 yr per life time is what it says on the website. I hopefully this changes as I dont want to gain the weight back. I am turning 60 in august so need to keep the weight off once I get to my goal weight. I am 5’5
Definitely ask your prescribing physician. You may have a stronger clinical justification to try the Zepbound if you failed Wegovy. Of course only your doctor can say what is best for you. But in my practice ( I’m a pharmacist) I have often seen insurance companies approve a patient for Zepbound if they did not achieve their “goal weight” with Wegovy. Best of luck with that.

Talk to your doctor. I had to switch from Zepbound to Wegovy only due to Zepbound being difficult for the pharmacy to obtain.
