In today's show I share my latest information on the future of Emile Smith Rowe, while also discuss the latest reports about Bruno Guimaraes. I also look at the latest around Mika Biereth's future and answer questions on various topics, including Charlie Patino.

ESR and Saka will always be Arsenal players for me ❤ pulled us thru the worst times. ESR is quality
Arteta needs to rotate more, full stop. With a purchase, there is also an obligation to pick that player. ESR, Eddie, Reece were not bought so the obligation is not there. These players need to push Arteta to play, or just leave, for their own sake.
ESR has had defensive lapses (ie Willock's goal vs Newcastle) have kept him on the bench more than playing. IF he pressed like Gallagher, I could see his playtime increase. Gotta be able to play both sides of the ball to play for Arteta.

💯ESR is a fantastic player. Couple of seasons ago before the injuries he was the top man. So disappointing to see him sidelined every week. When he played a full game few months ago he was MOTM.

I feel that all we Arsenal fans we want ESR to make it at this club. He could have a role to play against teams that will sit deep and defend. As a starter as an 8 (basically a left 10 while attacking), with Rice at the 6 and Odegaard at the 10. Let's hope Mikel remembers who helped him with Saka in 2020-21 and to give back that help to build fitness through gametime.
Go watch his cameo vs villa and come back. He's not good enough without the ball to play in this team.
You are living off nostalgia my friend, esr has not contributed anything much really the last seasons. Truth is, He is not good enough. I get it people love him because he’s an academy product.
Arteta needs to have a real go at all competitions and properly rotate the team, that way Smith-Rowe will get plenty of opportunities.

Hi Charles. Would it have merit to offer a sum plus Ramsdale to Newcastle for Alexander Isak. It would mean we are a bit short on goalkeeper, but in my opinion Okonkwo is a decent keeper, certainly good enough for a backup cup keeper. Newcastle have shown interest in Rambo, why not try to use him as a deal sweetener for Isak.
ESR is closer to being a starter than most players who seat on the Arsenal bench. If any of the starters i.e. Ordegard or Rice is unavailable, ESR starts. His only "Bad luck" is that those players have been fit the whole season. So, I don't see why Arsenal should sell him. We all want a strong squad and ESR is one player that makes our squad better. Arsenal cannot afford to weaken the squad.

Our standard just become higher that players like zinchenko,ESR,reiss,eddie,viera,tavares,lokonga,tierney,marquinhos not good enough for our bench.
Feels like we've properly hit silly season now. I somehow tricked my mum into becoming an Arsenal fan last/this season. She's now watching your show as her transfer window homework. Spare a thought for her when suddenly Mika Biereth is the story of the day and she rightly has no idea who he is.
I'd love to know the proper story on Smith Rowe. I've been rewatching All or Nothing and some of the comments in that make me wonder if he just doesn't fit what Arteta wants on some level. He made mention of how he needs to properly understand a person before he can work with them and ESR seems that little bit more shy or closed off than most in the squad.
I can't quite decide yet whether I feel Arteta should have been able to get more out of the player or if there's something he sees that we don't. Time will tell and at this point giving Mikel the benefit of the doubt is the logical choice but it still feels like a bit of a failure of management from the outside.

Couple of questions if I may…
Firstly, with the profit and sustainability rules, is it more likely we’ll see player swaps become more common? Could we for example offer ESR to pay off the Raya fee with Brentford. We know Newcastle are interested in Rambo so could we use him in part to fund Bruno? If this is feasible, what more wild example could you picture happening?
Secondly, any update on Carlos Cuesta and links to Norwich - we know Ben Knapper moved there and they need a new manager, I fear he’d be a bit of a loss to the back room staff.

ESR played in the villa game, he lost an ariel duel in the build up to the first goal. For the 2nd goal he's deepest man, completely switched off to Watkins run and couldn't prevent the goal. To play in this team you need to do better.
Smith-Rowe has to go unfortunately.
Yes, even against Newcastle at the Emirates, he switched off and watched willow stream rolled behind him for his goal against us, even at westham too, he's defensive frailties outweighs Jo's impact same as zinchenko imo
If we sell ESR, Ramsdale, Nketiah and Nelson where does that leave our home grown quota in the squad?
Off the top of my head I can only think of Saka, Rice, White and maybe Saliba. Would this be our strategy going into the transfer market? There is hope for Olise and Eze

I am suprised no one is talking about Kimmich. He got one year left off his deal and would be on a cheap. Good nr 2, 6 or 8. Winning mentality and ofc «if you cant beat em, join em». Only downside is that he is 29, but we dont really need to recoup money on him as he would be cheap. 3+1 yr deal and then we could sell him when he is 31 for a okey sum or run down his deal. I think he along with a striker and cover for saka could win us both the PL and CL in the next two years.
Selling Smith Rowe at this point in time will be a bad move. His value has depreciated a lot. Arteta should keep him and use him more next season in the left 8 or left wing.

Charles, you mentioned it will be difficult to see Arsenal do early transfer business this summer. Sesko's release clause is valid until 6/30 and Guimaraes's one is valid until 6/24. If we are actually trying to sign either one of them, shouldn't we do some early business and lay the groundworks? At least, before the Euros and Copa we should hear some significant news on whether we sign them or not right?
ESR needs to get more game time.A player cannot perform consistently if they are not given a decent chance.I believe any player can excel if they are afforded sufficient game time.ESR looks like a very capable player

Hey Charles, have you heard ony news on a potential move for Zubimendi? In your opinion what are our chances of getting him ?( talk has been he's emotionally attached to Sociedad and staying in his home city/country so maybe not keen an a move? Can the Arteta factor sway him? And do you rate him as a good enough player to solidify our central midfield with the possibility of Partey being moved on? ..thanks , love the show . Ray

I think we will keep ESR Arteta will play him more next season, but it will be a do or die season for him
Charles, the thing is with transfers out we also need to take into account the home grown status of our squad. We can't go selling all our home grown stars.

Our problems this term were all on the left side of the pitch. I would have thought that ESR is part of that solution, Nwaneri too. We were discussing the need for a player that can pluck a bit of magic from thin air... ESR.
In terms of Biereth, he has been used as the right prong in a 4231 system, so has not scored as many as when Sturm played him as a straight 9. They probably did this to reduce his price, because they want him. What I have seen from the highlight is that he is making improvements to the odd side of a striker's job. We'd be mugs not to let him go cheaply.
Shame about Patino, what a range of passes. I would love to see him devellop by playing alongside Jorji in a 4231 system. I am sure that he would have worked well like that. Shame that there was a change of manager at Swansea. I don't fancy his football philosophy.... tooo alerdice for my taste.
ESR was on the bench because he was injured while other teammates progressed. He will have to keep himself clean and injury free to have a chance anywhere

After a pretty decent loan spell at Millwall, is there any chance of Brooke Norton-Cuffy staying to become a back up right back? He has played mostly as a wing back / right mid, would that mean that we would look to sell him due to him potentially not fitting the system?
Regarding smith rowe If we get an offer around 30 to 35 million then i think it's time to move on

I like ESR, think he’s a great talent. It’s evident that Arteta doesn’t have him in the plans, best to sell and move on.
There is this talented ligue I player called Desire Doué of Rennes. Any idea if Arsenal is close to or has even made any contacts at signing him?
The most Sturm have ever paid for a player is 3.5m...I think they won't offer above 15m. Would you sell for 10m? I would rather loan him out again for a fee and hope for more next season. He may even improve to the point that we could use him.
I suspect Arteta has a trust issue with ESR. Can he be trusted to stay fit and string half a dozen or a dozen back-to-back games together. His injuries are clearly a bother. I wish ESR, but it might be better for both parties to move on.

Don’t understand the logic that arsenal don’t have money to spend on a ceiling raiser transfer this summer? Nketiah, smith Rowe, patino, reiss nelson all likely to be sold which is pure profit as home grown, plus partey and ramsdale probably leaving. I’d be amazed if that doesn’t allow at least £100m for a top level transfer before any budget we have already
Even if you sell all those players and raise 100m. It's negligence to use all of it on one player when you've lost about 6 players. We don't need to spend 100m on one player per se. What we need is quality scouting. I'm in the belief that there are plenty of players that could improve us for less than that. We just have to scout them properly
Should play as Xhaka's replacement . With the injury sorted, he will combine well with GM11. GM11 hasn't really been at it since Xhaka left.

I think Arsenal undervalue their players and thanks to media personnels, TH-camrs and/or journalists like you who makes it look like norms. I hear the price tag you place on these players in your shows and it's just ridiculous. 100mil for 6 first team players? If Kai havertz was an arsenal player, I am sure the likes of you and Arsenal would have sold him for 15million if he had underperformed like he did at Chelsea. It's time Arteta starts making the most useless of our first team players seem very important by giving them quality gametime especially when we have won a game, so as to up their market value

Kai havertz ha the ucl moment to bank on, besides had a €25m-€30m loss from his transfer compared to what they paid for him and most of our players are below average, remember we sold balogun, iwobi, chamberlain for decent fee because they seem decent
Charles, i think we're all overthinking this. The only reason why esr wasnt used as much is cos we got knocked out so early in all the cup competitions... Also our starting 3 in midfield just got into such a groove that it was almost impossible to replace anyone. If as reported lokanga el neny partey esr are all leaving then who the hell do we have left?? We need depth and no top quality elite player is gonna come to Arsenal to ride the bench. Let's be realistic if we're gonna spend 30-50m it will be on a player that's gonna be about esr quality and will also have to accept they'll be a bench player..
Personally think we keep esr and add another DM if partey leaves..
Our main target should be bringing in a young hungry attacking player.

I want Emile Smith-Rowe to stay! He saved Arteta from potentially getting sacked and he’s a talented Hale End player.
ESR probably wants to further his career and knows that his chances are better at another club. Look at how much playing time Sambi got at LTFC, imagine if ESR had minutes like that.
Sambi ended up having a good loan, can we expect him to be involved next season?

I have never heard you champion Viera's worth as much as you do Smith. Viera is also young and needs to play. While Smith Rowe has been injured, the team moved on. He has to fight for a regular spot as everyone else. He would need a preseason to do that. If not, he has the right to move on.

Hi Charles in my opinion Emile should stay great at finding those pockets when running late in the box . Personally for Viera should go not really been impressed with him since joining had glimpses but far less than Emile
The love Charlie shows for Arteta is amazing. It's almost like Mike is wife or husband. So strong...oh imagine if he could actually meet Arteta...the things he could do to him. No way could Emery compete with him in the looks department. That's why Charlie fantasizes about him so much.

Hi Charles, for a while people have been talking about how Newcastle need to sell and as such we are linked with Isak and Bruno. Great. (It's important to acknowledge that they'd never sell both this Window and certainly not to the same Rival so you would have to choose.) But my question under these circumstances is this: Why aren't we ALL IN for Sandro Tonali?!? With Havertz & jesus and limited money what we need more is MF. Yes? Sandro Tonali is a better MF defender than Bruno and more readily wants to sit back in front of the CBs than be Box-to-Box. He is a better passer from MF to Final-Third than Bruno. He is faster than Zubimendi -- and his month playing in Newcastle showed he is 100% able to destroy the best the Premier League can throw at him. Flat out-- he is a better DM than Bruno; he is a slightly better CM than Bruno; he's younger than both. And if Newcastle HAVE to sell an asset, a big asset, they really DON'T want to be forced to sell Isak OR Bruno. And Tonali only had a few games there (where he was awesome) so the Toon-clowns won't be too hard out if they sell him.

Why does Arsenal bother having an academy if there is no longer any pathway for any talented players to make it to the first team ? When players who have performed well enough to play for the England first team barely play what chance do people coming through the ranks have.
I fully expect to see Charles explaining in two or three years how Nwaneri is likely to be sold in the summer after his Championship loan finishes as there's no pathway into the first team.
Meanwhile ESR will be scoring for fun for West Ham and we'll probably still have Charles explaining all the benefits Jesus brings to the team even while missing sitters regularly.

It is time for ESR to look elsewhere for opportunities to use its talent rather than becoming a bench warmer. To be honest, fans like you, Watts, who believe Arsenal should keep ESR are doing him no favours. It is clear that he is not in Arteta's plans, and I believe Arsenal has given him numerous opportunities to demonstrate his abilities but has failed to deliver. He needs to join another club to showcase his abilities and become very good. Without a doubt, he is a good player who does not fit into Arsenal's current style. The same goes for Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah, and the other benchwarmers. Give new incoming players a chance to join Arsenal and add to our power, so we can win the EPL and other competitions next season.
ESR does not apply himself enough for me. He lacks intensity and is almost like he cruises in games. He has immense talent and good become a fantastic player someday. Let not even get to his injury record. For a younger player, he has a very bad i jury record. Unfortunately, it will be sad to see him go given that he's a Hale End graduate.

Arteta can only catch Pep if he trusts his entire squad to deliver for him. At the moment he has no faith in any player except the 11 to 13 players that he uses week in week out. Saliba playing every single game of the entire season is no record to be proud of. Not playing ESR soon after a MoM game is simply disgraceful.
For me he is a perfect replacement for Partey.

If City can assemble a big enough squad that contains two world class sets of players, why shouldn't Arsenal? It appears to me that you and all other so called journalists, WANT to sell ESR. We should be looking to keep these players. Then Get a DECENT manager who knows how to rotate the squad. Arsene Wenger managed it, George Graham did it. Cup Games, Europe Etc, we should be rotating. Instead We run Saka into ground. If Raya is a small upgrade on Ramsdale - and a reason you want hem (Ramsdale) sold - then we need a upgrade of manager.
it's gonna be disheartening for me if arteta and edu decide to cash in on mika...... mark my words ✅, if they take such decision, they'll be begging to have him at the Emirate in 2-3 years time.....

Arteta must be the worst rotation coach in Premier. If Leeds buy and he bag in 20 goals like Palmer. The main issue is development coaches, and coaching staff.
