Completely agree with you on Martinelli Charles. The one thing that I might add though, is that he doesn't seem to have the efficiency that Saka does. Saka can have a quiet game but pop up with a goal or assist. For Martinelli I keep thinking back to our home game v Seville where he destroyed their right back, beating him 9 times but didn't get a goal or assist, or even particularly look like it. Saka has probably never dribbled past a full back 9 times in a game but he only needs to once or twice to produce something. I think and hope that is something Martinelli will develop.

To all, have fun, enjoy life , every day and be kind to each other, life is so short. PS Please don't glout on the Scotland result. Their fans always always behave themselves. Don't need much to replace Nelson minutes tbh. Really hoped he would kick on with some minutes but Arteta doesn't trust any of Eddie ESR or Nelson is now obvious. They all got chances. Madness to keep them ifvyou aren't going to play them. We may have killed ourselves with their salaries

  • @BeforeThisNovember
    @BeforeThisNovember 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Ramsdale: 40m
    ESR: 40m
    Zinny: 25m
    Tierney: 25m
    Nketiah: 20m
    Partey: 30m (?)
There’s at least 150m. If we can shift all of these, I really hope we bring in 2 world class players (70-80m+)
    My dream/realistic signings would be:
    FWD: Williams/Olise (70m)
    MID: Neves/Musiala + Fofana (100-120m)
    DEF: Davies/Mendes (50m)
We should only be looking at, from now on, players who can instantly elevate the team - just like Rice. Now is the time to really kick on and establish ourselves as a force.
We have an amazing team, we have to keep strengthening and finally win things.

You're a true journalist/reporter and you got me with the headline. There's a difference, and honestly not that subtle of one, between a declaration of "never again," versus a statement of, "I never WANT TO DO THAT again."
Of course Ramsdale wants to go if he's the #2 again and Arteta isn't going to rotate more, but, I think you do Ramsdale a disservice by formatting this quote the way you did...

    • @Nostradanus86
      @Nostradanus86 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

It really isn't all that key .. Ransdales dad did the talking last year, now its just dragged on. Now if Raya was to pick up an injury between now & mid July though you'd think things may be different... he's not going to be number 2 & won't get the Brentford games this season , so to be our domestic cup keeper isn't what's right for him. A loan move paying 5milluon upfront & 25m clause would be best interests. Can be recalled too.

I already had this feeling after the Sesko deal fell through, but after watching Germany last night I’m even more sure that I’d like us to go all out on an attacking midfielder like Musiala, Wirtz or maybe even Joao Neves. Along side Rice and Ode, they’d be one of the strongest midfield in the world. Plus we’ve just seen what Havertz can do with that sort of quality behind him.

RIP Kevin Campbell. Such a decent man. When we talk about a new L8, the profile is often described and a 6/8. I think that's a wasted opportunity. We have Rice and Jorginho for the 6 (I'm assuming Partey goes), and I think both Timber and White could do a job there if necessary - both would be better than Elneny and Lokonga as a 3rd 6. I think a new L8 that can cover LW would be better - but we do also need a new out and out winger; preferably one who can play on the left and the right and genuinely push Martinelli and Saka.

Saying that Raya coming in was the right decision baffles me when he’s had less to do than any other keeper in the Premiership. As we all know that is thanks to the finest football defence in the world in front of him. Would I be wrong saying that Ramsdale wouldn’t have had just as good a run of clean sheets but also kept Villa to no goals as he’s a better keeper and we’d have won the league? When saves are required next season I do hope you’re right but I’ll reserve judgement till he’s done something.

Love Ramsdale, but unless the right offer comes in, he stays as the 2nd option.
If we can’t get at least what we paid for him, we are always going to struggle to sell and it’s going to sound to the rest of clubs buying from Arsenal that we are push overs.
Potential England number 1, excellent keeper, good distribution, good shot stopper, long contract. If that doesn’t command top money I don’t know what does.
    Alternatively,
With Raya being close to 30 I would even not mind seeing Ramsdale go on loan for a seasons or two and then come back and push Raya.

    Hi Charles,
This isn't really a point related to any conversations in today's video, but I couldn't help myself thinking (dreaming) about a Musiala - Ødegaard - Rice midfield after his display vs Scotland.
I'm not saying it's happening or ever will, though surely as a club, Arsenal are poised as a top top option for if Musiala ever wanted a new challenge and came to the Premier League. This Arsenal team would be ideal for him.
    Thanks,

Hi Charles, great show as ever.
Here’s a question/point. In case England, Germany and Brazil go to final on July/14, it's unlikely that we have saka, rice, kai and Gabbys back in time for the start of the season. If Italy and France also go deep, we may not have saliba and jorginho either. Do you think this could happen? They're gonna need a month of vacation probably,...
And considering the fact that we lost the league by 2 points, is this something arsenal needs to consider before letting partey, eddie and possibly kiwior leave or replacing them with players not involved in internationals?

Charles,do you think if Arsenal doesn't sign a striker and sticks with Havertz No.9, do we also need a No.8 signing along with a No.6 signing? ESR could potentially go out and we may lack depth in the midfield area. Declan can play No.8 but with also the uncertainty of Partey's future and his injury prone status, i think we should put the striker budget on No.8 signing.

The comment from ….9393 is one of the most ludicrous things I ever ever heard. The season before last, many people were talking about Martinelli’s ceiling being higher than Saka. Now suddenly he’s surplus to requirements ?! He’s a Brazilian international and was our top scorer 12 months ago!
It’s also worth bearing in mind that whilst Trossard put the numbers up in the second half of last season, he’s not a brilliant starter of games. He struggles to be involved in build up and is much better coming on as a ‘finisher’ in the second half. Of course let’s beef up the options but we need Martinelli as much as we ever did

He was a fan favourite and I had my reservations about Raya coming in although I knew they have been liked with Raya when Brentford went to the play offs a while back.

Feel like a lot of the pundits today (yesterday when you do the show) had dry voices and took a while to get into things. Lee dixon sounded a bit shakey in the first few minutes of co-comms and shearer sounded hoarse in the bbc coverage. I know Wrighty and Dixon were close to big Kev, as well as Shearer. How hard do you think it is to have to work on a broadcast after getting that kind of news? I felt like ITV were on the verge of poking Wrighty for a reaction, knowing how emotional he is as a person and it made me uncomfortable watching it - but i understand they had to (and should have) addressed it. Players within the squad all wanting to play regularly cannot logically happen. A squad should have around 24 senior players with only 11 starting (7 or 8 undroppable to maintain chemistry) and 5 as main rotation players. The rest won't have enough gametime and if u fill these spots with low quality players then the squad overall will decline and will look vulnerable.

The people saying yes to £100ml Martinelli have clearly forgotten that Mudryk was £80ml.
Invest in the squad? By spending more on someone else? It doesn’t make sense.
    Keep. Keep. Keep.
We already need a winger. We’ll sell Martinelli, and we definitely need 2.

If arsenal don’t get offered over 35 million then he has to accept he’s number 2 for now. Seems harsh but he has a (very lucrative) contract.
