One of thee SICKEST animes ever! I tried watching this a couple times. First time I made it through 2 episodes and thought it was ok and switched to a different anime. Couple months later I came back to it and gave it another chance. I ended up binging the shit out of it and it became one of my all time favorites. It ends up being a completely different anime than how it starts out. So if you haven't watched this one yet, take my advice, just watch the full season and I swear on everything that is holy you will freaking love it! Of they don't make another season it should literally be a crime against humanity. Seriously

Crunchyroll is behind on physical releases in general. Considering we just got Tower of God, and that was a spring 2020 anime, it'll be summer or early fall before Re Zero Season 2 gets a Bluray.

I think I might be starting to piece together the plot, but it's all conjecture from me and not spoilers. Note that if you have not watched season 1 & 2 there are definitely spoilers below, so you've been warned. While I have no idea why Barusu gets isekaied the first time, I think that the first time he showed up in Lugunica he didn't have any sort of powers including RBD. What we witness in the first part of the episode is a repeat of the first time Barusu dies there. What we see is his very first reset, likely granted by the Witch of Envy. With no memory of his first stint in Lugunica he is doomed to repeat it and behaves in exactly the same way. We see that when he first meets Emilia, she lies and says her name is Satella, probably because she's skeptical of who he is and can't believe he doesn't treat her as terribly as everyone else in this world does. It's evident when she says she's a half elf and is thoroughly surprised that he didn't care at all. She says her name is Satella to keep testing him and make sure he either isn't aware or doesn't care about her resemblance to the Witch of Envy, which has resulted in so much suffering for her. She is understandably jaded as hell. Fast forward to when they are both killed the first time, Barusu says he'll save her no matter what. The Witch of Envy, having witnessed this because she's basically a god of sorts, became envious (true to her name) of the love and devotion Barusu showed Emilia. However, from the Witch of Envy's point of view, Barusu told a half elf that he believed was named Satella while ALSO looking just like her that he'd save her no matter what. Perhaps this made the Witch of Envy feel that Barusu loved HER. She projected Barusu's love for Emilia onto herself, and fell in love with Barusu. She then rewound time, endowing him with RBD with preserved memories to guarantee that he would be able to eventually overcome any obstacle Lugunica could throw his way. She wants him to survive so that she could hope to be with him some day. That's all I got for now. I look forward to thoughts and opinions on this.

For the longest time i thought that emilia had a closer connection to the witch because of all the similarities between them but i dont think that’s accurate at all anymore. Honestly, I hope that we get to see more of the beast folks in the future. I dunno. To me, it feels like we really don't get to see them that much in this fantasy world. The anime is still pretty good though.
