What's great about this MC is that his OP is actually understandable and not impossible, from basically birth he's been trained by the best in magic, magic gear, and fighting and magic in his new world relies mostly on visualization where he's last life experience in making science books for kids comes in handy because he can visualize things differently than everyone else making his magic very powerful, later on we see his grandpa and friends also being able to use his magic and grow closer to his level.
He also starts very overpowered because the world he is born in to does the whole 'chant' system, which the MC LOAAAATHES hardcore. So he develops a full silent system of casting, which he loves, and even goes on to explain further in episode two about 'visualization' and 'controlled visualization' techniques and stuff he does in order to produce powerful spells quickly. And on top of what you said, in that he can think about things in a very different manner than the people living in the world, so he can visual things in such a profound manner to produce great effects. And he teaches that to the entire main cast.

As far as overpowered anime goes, this doesn't bother me much. Seriously, seeing Merlin gush over the boy calling him grandpa is just too heartwarming.

my second ever isekai and my third ever anime. I literally decrypted the magic language shown in the anime. Those little symbols on the magic circles and on the various sign's of this world actually are consistent with each other, and when I decrypted them, I found that they actually spelled cohesive words!

Something interesting is that the person who wrote it definitely spoke English, as the language had 26 distinct letters, and one word was spelled with multiple letters, rather than one character.

It definitely is the stereotypical, overpowered Isekai. Fan service everywhere and a lot of the typical things you’d see…but compared to other Isekai, I really enjoyed this show. So, I’m with you. I hope they do make a season 2.

This is a C level anime but tbh I think it’s my favorite thing about it. It’s a very standard cookie cutter anime but it’s got just enough character development humor and some great artwork that’s is a perfect chill n half watch half play on your phone anime to watch n relax so I’m definitely a fan hoping for a season 2. Not every anime needs to be original/ new concept draw dropping to be a great watch & this anime proves that. 😊 definitely worth a watch
It’s not the worse Dub I’ve heard ( never watched anime in dub). I strongly suggest to watch this in sub, you will miss out on a lot of characters personalities and running jokes

He worked for a publishing company and thus reviewed numerous books on science and mathematics. Plus some science fiction. This is what gives him the edge over normal people; since he retains full memory of these books, which has knowledge this world doesn't have yet
Trained in magic by the best magic user ( and outclassed him). Trained in enchantments by the best enchantress in the world ( and outclassed her ). Trained in close combat and swordsmanship by one of the best swordsmen in the world. Is he gonna be a powerhouse that saves the world? Well of course.
Hm, seeing this and having been watching The Faraway Paladin makes me realize that I definitely have a favored variant of power fantasy. Specifically the one where you grow up being trained by powerful people.

The 3 powerful undead raise the boy alone and train him in their respective areas of expertise, the skeleton trains him in close combat, the ghost in magic, and the mummy in religion. I don't want to describe it beyond that at risk of spoilers because even in the early episodes it latches onto your emotions and won't let go, so if you ask me it's really worth trying out. The series does a good job of not sticking to cliche and the magic system is very unique, as well as the fact that being a "Paladin" really means something other than martial combat.
A well made series that deserves to be continued. This is... idk, the 4th or 5th time I've watched the season. My only gripe is that the opening song isn't very good. The ending song is much better
"I got hit by a Truck and Reincarnated in Another World as a Young OP Magic User" An overused but fun and awesome isekai plot. I wish someone would take standard isekai and put a spin on it. Like what if they were reincarnated as the angel servant of the gods? Or as a villain?
If you're looking for a MC that's a villain, then I suggest trying out I Stand Over A Million Lives. In a recent chapter the MC admits his end goal is to become strong enough to cause a mass genocide.
