Last year I titled my iPhone 14 review “is it enough”, and that was because compared to the iPhone 13 the iPhone 14 was such a small upgrade that for most people I recommended saving some cash and buying the iPhone 13 instead. However, this year with the new iPhone 15 things are different. The iPhone 15 may look similar on the outside, but if we look closer, we’ll find that the iPhone 15 brings valuable upgrades to the design, display, cameras and performance. Making it one of the biggest upgrades to the non pro iPhone in years. But I still have some gripes with this phone, which I will also share. Including a brief comparison between the iPhone 15 vs iPhone 14, as well as the iPhone 15 vs iPhone 14 Pro. Same I just left my 13 pro for a 15 plus and its been great aside from 60hz,which even after a week is still jarring but the battery life is a worthy trade. The camera is a CLEAR upgrade and speakers are phenomenal too.
I love the 15 gets the dynamic island and long battery life. I also love the matte finish, kinda stealthy look and of course the newly upgraded 48mp main camera. I think that this is going to be a worth to get in.
Same, the cameras finally convince me to upgrade from iPhone 8. I really didn’t like the notch in bridging models, but Dynamic Island feels like an additional feature, not a compromise.

@@RahulSharma-df4xz not as far as I know. That issue is only with the pro models. (It was fixed in ios 17.0.3 though)
How is the battery timing? I have a 12 mini and I am planning to get the regular 15 so was wondering how the battery would be.

I went to check it out yesterday. MAN!! What a difference, amazing feel in the hand and instantly fell in love. Will be upgrading from my 12.

I have the iphone 15 (pink) and I love it. It definitely is worth the price. I wanted the plus before but the plain is just perfect. Having moved from android. I am still learning day by day, but I love it! I guess I joined the iphone experience at the right time.

I had to upgrade to the 15 plus from the 13 pro max due to the battery health draining significantly and honestly, I’m so glad I did!!! Battery life, ESIM and loving the cameras! Just as good as other phone! I also love the colors of the 15s. I have basic matte black

I returned my 15 Pro to get a 15 Plus, I love it so far. The battery life on the 15 Pro was pretty abysmal.

Why didn't you get the Pro Max?
The Pro truly is a waste of money for the vast majority of people. Apple are getting desperate to try and push people to that higher priced phone, but if you really look at what the Pro phone offers, it’s just not that compelling for the extra money. The 15 is a very good phone with better battery life to boot.

@@DeesBees8515 pro max 256 is just 220€ more expensive than a 15 plus with same storage, so the better camera, display, chip, titanium, action button, etc. is definitely worth the upgrade
The iPhone 14 may have liked the same however I believe it helped make the 15pro with the more removable back and small features such as automatically calling emergency services and satellite signal receivers.

I really like how the 15 series still kept the Pros for users like me who aren't into big phones. It's a treat that Apple brought the dynamic island on the regular 15s too!

to be honest, I love almost EVERYTHING about it. from how it looks, the 48mp main camera on the base model and the plus, which we don't get to the previous iphone base models. The killer battery life of the plus, the dynamic island and the upgraded os. I pretty much love everything abt it, except for the 60hz refresh rate... I'm not that much of a gamer, but it kinda sucks. AND PLUS THE USB-C!!! so yeah, 10 out of 10!

I gotta say hands down the best feature of the iPhone 15/Pros are the advanced Portrait Mode. Automatically detecting a subject/photo that's ideal for Portrait Mode (regardless of what mode you're in) is wicked cool.

There’s quite a list of features that I would like:
- Like the frosted glass back & the matt sides.
- The rounded corners
- Dynamic island which is really cool
- The braided USB cable in the box.
- Colour matched USB-C ports
- USB-C (🤯); now we can plug the phone into a monitor & charge your PS5 controller whilst you play.
- It takes 24mp photos in auto mode.
- Automatically capturing depth info for photos; with the ultra-wide lens & the wide-angle lens, that’s really cool now any photo can be a portrait.
- Better night photography with a combination of photonic engine & the 24mp shots
- The 2nd Gen UWB chip for finding air tags & you friends even.
- The peak brightness doubled to 200 nits.
- I like the new personalised contact cards (OS update feature)
- Standby mode (OS update feature)
- & message transcription (OS update feature)
To be honest man I don’t have a favourite feature, but if I were to pick one which I am, I say “USB-C & the extra features it brings”. Like being able to charge my PS5 controller when it dies is really cool instead of having to play RIGHT IN FRONT of the TV. I can also plug it into a monitor & connect a PS5 controller via Bluetooth, really cool (👌).

The fact that iPhone 15 is way ahead of all the non pro iphones over the years is a big plus.
With dynamic island adds up a whole new dimension to it.
That aluminium on the sidelines definitely got me up as that's definitely gonna give a different on hand feel.
I ❤ the alumni rounded frame, and will have the real feel when I can afford. The dynamic island along with the cane is also awesome

Great video as usual. While the dynamic island and usb C are great, I really like the max screen brightness and ability to change background focus after the fact are the best features. For the 15 pro though I think the best feature is recording to an SSD while recording. Means you can get the base model, have the best recording available on a phone and not have to worry about space, awesome!
My best feature Is that the phone is a pro battery saver and it does not overheat like the pro models ,the only downgrade is the 60hrtz refresh rate which is not that noticeable but overall it gives flagship specs @ Street geng

Just upgraded to this from an XS and this was way worth it, love this phone.
i just switched from my iPhone 11 to a 15 Pro Max. It’s been only a day… and i’m LOVING IT. I’m glad i waited for it to come out. literally no complaints. and it’s so smooooth🥰 the battery is insane and the 120hz refresh rate is even more insane

I like the usb C feature, the fact that you can connect to a monitor and essentially use it as a computer

I think my favorite thing about the iPhone 15 is that it has dynamic island and a full matte body, as well as a 48MP main lens. It's literally a nerfed 14 Pro! Since I'm huge on photography, I think the addition of the 2x zoom is great.

I love the camera update on the iPhone 15. 48mp camera is the best thing happening for it. It’s good that now the 15 has aluminum frame and matte glass finish which makes it more premium. Its rounded edges make it more comfortable compared to iPhone 14 and the previous ones. I love the USB-C charger change from Lightning because it now allows reverse charging for other accessories such as AirPods etc. The new and faster chip makes it more interesting and faster to process. And again the introduction of the dynamic island and brightness tracking 2000nits is unbeatable. This phone is lovely and the best thing going on for the iPhone 15 series

I really like that the iPhone 15 has the dynamic island. Not to worried it doesn’t run 120hz either you can barely tell with them side by side.
Real solid review of the 15. Thanks for doing it. Everybody just focuses on the pro phones which I don’t need. I went to the Apple Store and looked at them but I think I’m gonna hold off for another year and keep my iPhone 13 mini as it’s running great on iOS 17 and there’s no need to upgrade for me. It’s just a shiny new phone and that’s kind of tempting, but if the phones aren’t side-by-side the camera on the 13 takes really good videos and pictures and it’s only when you put it next to a brand new phone do you seem like you need an upgrade .

I have a 12 mini, which is a bit worse than 13 mini so I have a better reason to upgrade to iPhone 15. Also I had my 12 mini for 3 years now and battery capacity is at a terrible 78% and I have a small black dot on my screen due to dropping it so even more justifiable to upgrade!

I upgraded to the base model iPhone 15 from a base model iPhone 12. Feels like a huge upgrade. I was originally looking at the 15 Pro for the filming & photography feature set, as well as the ProMotion display. I have dedicated cameras for any filming and photography needs, and I don't really think the 120Hz refresh rate screen which has an impact on battery life is worth the price difference.
Very happy with my iPhone 15.

@@benk932 i think, it depends. If you are scrolling occasionally then you are always using the 120 hz. But if you are always on stationary screen without scrolling and touch then you are not using the 120 hz.
I feel like the mute switch is amazing. What I really have a grudge about is the USB-C

I love the action button on the pro so much. It seems so easy to let it do something by just clicking on one single button. On the normal 15 I really like the dynamic island and usb C. Really excited to now see it on there too!!
Bought the 15 plus did not buy a pro Max for the first time and I don't miss that phone one iota this 15 plus has the best battery life excellent sound excellent USBC, extremely light, and the dynamic island and the a16 chip amazing

Yes agree, these really are significant upgrades this year for the base models. But that 60Hz display is killing me. It’s time for Apple to add the 120Hz to all of their lineup. Even the cheapest Android phones have had it for years.
If they did there would hardly be a reason for you to buy the pro models. That's what they want everyone to get so they give certain crap features to their lower end phones. You'd have to look at phones under $200 in the Android world to find a phone under 90hz. Only Apple can get away with this.
Well not really, oneplus introduced it in 2019 as the first on the market with an oled screen and that was only 90hz

the base people who buys normal iphones dont care about refresh rate bc apple can make is software so clean even with 60hz
Every smartphone that's not iPhone has 120hz if it's costing $499
USB-C is my favourite feature, that Dynamic Island is a welcome addition to the non Pro phones

My favorite feature of the iPhone 15 is the matte glass. I’ve found that the shiny glass of the previous iPhones were sometimes very slippery. I also really like pastel colors of the 15, and how water resistant it is.
I know its not that creative but to be honest I love the new USB-C feature 😅
and that the amazing dynamic Island is now a normal part for every version of the 15 :)

The best feature in my opinion for the iphone 15 is the addition of the usb-c. Not only can I use previously inapplicable usb-c accessories, now I can even charge my other Apple devices with just the use of their already included apple charging cable, something I can't just do prior to this model.

I'm upgrading from 8 plus to 15. I held my 8 plus until Apple released another phone with touch id, I was sick of waiting lol. Was hoping they finally integrate it into the side or something but decide to give face id a try and that juicy 48 mp main camera

@@pandaboo15 I love it!! it's so light compared to the 8 plus. It's worth the upgrade because you get a huge bump in specs and battery life. The camera quality in both front and back is amazing. And I love its color, I got the green one. It was between green and pink. So far Face ID is quite good and the dynamic island is not too distracting and sometimes I forget about it when I use my phone. Personally, I find the notch really ugly on previous models.
I love it because it has long battery life, coming from an iphone 6. I am planning to upgrade to the 15 plus.
The qualities I like about the new iphone 15 is that it has U-SBS and a nicer camera and so on and I'd be happy to win it

The 14-series were a total skip on paper. Glad that Apple decided to step-up their game a little on this one. Flat edges with smoothened corners, Dynamic island and the camera resolution are the main upgrades on this one.
My favorite think about iPhone 15 is that the dynamic island and the rounded edges :D

first off I want to start by saying I love your channel. With that being said I have a question and I'm hoping that maybe you could help me out. The iPhone 14 pro Max and Pros had the battery issues where they were degrading much faster then other models did. With that being said the new 15 and 15 plus have the same chip that was in the 14 Pro Models do you think that those models will have the same issues with the battery duration that the 14 Pro Models had or do you think maybe it was something going on with the phone and maybe Apple may have fixed it? I would love to know your thoughts on this.

I specially liked the dynamic island on non pro models and also the usc type-c although its not a massive upgrade nevertheless it has 48mp main camera including the auper action mode and its stabilization.

Honestly speaking I think the regular 15 models make more sense to buy than the pros, the only differentiating factor for me is that extra zoom and 120hz, but 2x has been fine enough, and iOS animations have never been choppy

I have a regular 13, and I'm wondering when Apple will introduce at least 90 hz to regular models. Like come on, find some other ways to differentiate the Pro model. But for the 15 I think the best feature is that they returned to rounded edges, which makes it more comfortable to hold. It also feels lighter than the 13.

Honestly, I really like this thing. I'm fond of its appearance, the fact that it has a 48MP main camera on both the regular and plus models, which was missing in previous iPhone base models. The battery life on the plus model is quite impressive, the dynamic island feature and the upgraded operating system are great. I pretty much like everything about it, except for the 60Hz refresh rate, which is a bit disappointing. Plus, it's fantastic that it finally has USB-C, something we've been waiting for a long time. So, in my view, it's definitely a keeper!

To be honest the matte finish on the non pro 15 is my favourite feature. Especially with blue color. I think is kinda underrated and perhaps not alot of people actually care about it. But it is much better than the glossy back.
Besides that adding dynamic island and the type C accross the board is also a big win and I appreciate it. It would have been quite disappointing if Apple had tried to push the Pro models by withholding these features from the base models. They should have brought high refresh screen to non pro model too 😔.

I know I am a bit late for this giveaway but I think the best feature for this new iPhone 15 is the, a bit rounded frame of the phone that doesn't cut through your hand when you are holding it.
I am currently using samsang A51 and am thinking to switch to an Iphone. I am in a dilemma of whether to go for a 14 plus or 15 please help me out

Switching to USB-C and introducing the dynamic island to non-pro models are the best features for me.
I also agree that for this price point, the minimum 90hz screen refresh rate should be available (why, Apple?).

I went from an iphone 12 to an s23. Tested the iphone 15, and nope not going back. Staying with the s23 256gb with 120hz. It really is a deal breaker for me.
I got an iPhone 14 Plus and Im happy. Won’t upgrade anytime soon 😅

Wow Dion. Awesome videos yet again. Even more informative than the first impressions video. I've learned a lot more now. Time to flex my knowledge on everyone 😎. I really want to win that 15 Pro because of the new A17 Pro chip with its powerful nature, the new camera system that would really help me with my photography coursework and I will finally be able to take Pro Raw photos, Pro Res videos, Ultrawide Photos and Macro Photos, the USB C with 3.0 speeds will help those photo files transfer much quicker and the new titanium build is much lighter and looks more premium to me and should resist fingerprints a little better. And that blue titanium colour is so exquisite and elegant. And honestly speaking, my iPhone 7 Plus needs to be retired soon. I really hope I win🤞. Once again great video as always Dion.
