Cat Stevens has always been a favorite and wrote such beautiful songs..my husband died last year and I listen to many songs we loved so many years...for some reason it makes me feel close to him. Married for 50 years was not enough.
One of our favourite songs and we heard Cat sing it at the Albert Hall when he was just at the start of his amazing career. Its been with me a long time now but she passed away 36 years ago when I thought our best years, our settled, mature years were still ahead of us. As I walk the hills and moors or drive on a quiet road this song still brings a lone tear and thoughts I cannot share. "I look and youre not there" but in my mind, you are there. Its a masterpiece and ever will be. I always thought that only classical music from the great composers would live forever but music like this will stand beside them. Life on this earth is not the end. I firmly believe there is more than we can imagine out in the vast universe.
You can still love someone who your are not with, and you can still love someone who is no longer on earth, bodies die, circumstances dominate, but real love never dies.

Someone found me after 48 years looking for me! I was to young when we first met all those years before ! He said he could never find the right words to tell me how he felt at the time! Then fate jumped in and my mum got remarried and took me to Bristol . And left him in Blackpool and where he thought I still was! He said he travelled around the world, and always took me with him in thoughts, and in his heart! Wherever he was I was! And said he never felt alone because he always saw me with him. Then a mutual friend on face book had my name in her list of friends! Of course he never realised I wasn’t no longer in the place we last saw each other!! But he said the words of this song was everything he felt in all the years he was looking for me! And nearly gave up hope thinking he would die before ever finding me again! Moral to this story I suppose is if you pray, and wish hard enough then anything I guess is possible?🙏🏼👍🏼

This is probably the best song I have ever listened to. It is so simple however it captures what we all feel when we lose someone, yet left to explain there is no way to describe your pain because it doesn't exist. So beautifully written, and I cry every time I listen to it. It wasn't until about a month ago I had ever heard it while I was watching a youtube video of the 9/11/01 WTC attacks and about five minutes into the video this song (however, it was a female singing) the song began. As victims were discovered, the rescuers racing to help, and the horrible realization set it that people were falling out windows the words so appropriately placed gave me much comfort. Almost as though these words were echoing out loud for all to hear. A reassurance that they aren't going to be forgotten and love doesn't die. I might not have successfully gotten my feelings across, however, hearing those words gave me a feeling I honestly cannot put into words, and one I haven't felt before or since.

This is probably the best song I have ever listened to. It is so simple however it captures what we all feel when we lose someone, yet left to explain there is no way to describe your pain because it doesn't exist.
So beautifully written, and I cry every time I listen to it. It wasn't until about a month ago I had ever heard it while I was watching a youtube video of the 9/11/01 WTC attacks and about five minutes into the video this song (however, it was a female singing) the song began. As victims were discovered, the rescuers racing to help, and the horrible realization set it that people were falling out windows the words so appropriately placed gave me much comfort.
Almost as though these words were echoing out loud for all to hear. A reassurance that they aren't going to be forgotten and love doesn't die. I might not have successfully gotten my feelings across, however, hearing those words gave me a feeling I honestly cannot put into words, and one I haven't felt before or since.

There comes a time when you begin to celebrate the memories and and talk about them with others. There comes a time when lessons learned are taught to others. Try going to group therapy for a while it can help. If you do not like the first place you go to try another.
Then when you are strong enough to stand on your own you can learn more about yourself , your standards, strength appreciate as much as you can.
