  • Yep, I did it again. Another motorcycle. This one is a 2015 Suzuki C50T. It is gorgeous! And it feels awesome to ride a cruiser again! My Honda CB500X has company, for now...

I really enjoyed mine. Just wasn’t enough room on it for me and the wife. Too bad. I certainly would have kept it otherwise.

The c50 is infamous for the shaft going out at 25ks

That's a gorgeous motorcycle. I just sold my 2006 Shadow 750 Aero. Now I don't have a riding bike. Good grief!

Just saw this comment. That sucks! Hope you get another bike soon!

Could it be that the rear drive was over filled with gear oil? That is a very pretty motorcycle, they are super reliable too!

I worry about that! Thanks! I'm going to have to look into it. I've heard of it happening.

Just be aware that it's a known issue for C-50's to come from the factory with inadequate gear oil in the drive unit. Check TH-cam for videos on it.

I heard about that. I've sold my C50, but it is something to watch out for. Thanks!

@@QuentinsMotoVlog I think the issue was not with gear oil but with lack of grease on the spline going into the final drive assy and the spline into the wheel assy. (separate from the gear case hypoid oil). After about model year
2012 they have not seen the problem but TH-cam videos recommend checking the splines if you have the rear wheel off for some other reason. I have a 2017 Boulevard which has been great but I'll be checking the shaft to make sure it's OK.

@@KevininSC a couple of things. The CB500X I had did not have the larger front wheel. And it had street tires. And the one time I dropped it in the dirt it was freakishly difficult to lift back up. And it was too small for my wife to be willing to ride two up. And finally, I’ve been on a relentless search to find the perfect bike or bikes for me. The C50 turned out to be a great cruiser, but I moved on from that. Currently I have a Kawasaki X300 which satisfies my dirt needs, and a Kawasaki Vaquero which is a great tourer/cruiser for me alone or me and wife. Had to go through a LOT of bikes to get to these two but I’m very happy with them.

Honestly, it was hard to see in the video but that could have just been general crud buildup and nothing to worry about. Did you ever get it figured out?

Sorry, just saw this comment. I think the tech at the dealership was right: it was brake dust. Once cleaned with a rag it did not return.

What was it that appeared to be leaking on the drive shaft case.

I was assured, and I've accepted the explanation, that it is brake dust from the rear drum brake. The rear brake is working well. I'm starting to see some new accumulation but it is very slight. I think everything is good. Thanks for asking!
