This was the love of my life’s and my favorite time of year. I lost her to breast cancer, October 11, 2023. This song perfectly reflects us, and now just me alone. My life is and will always be forever autumn until the glorious day I get to be with her again. Thank you for your reaction.
I’m so sorry- this is so hard, isn’t it. The only thing that helps me, besides knowing one day she and I will be together again, is knowing that every day I bear this pain is a day she was spared having to bear it had I gone first. We can do this for them, Angela. I wish you comfort and peace as the seasons change again, and again, albeit staying forever autumn for some of us.
My husband liked this album. He showed me so much about music when we first dated. He died almost five years ago. Not only did I have this song performed at a memorial mass for him, I have Forever Autumn tattooed on my arm and those lyrics are etched onto my heart.
Whenever I hear this song, it reminds me of my best friend, who passed away 15 years ago, at age 29. She also loved the autumn and the colorful leaves.
I also lost my darling bestie Meredith, she died in April 1997 aged just 33 leaving 2 girls. She is a grandma now and she would have been the best partner in crime for her grandchildren. Vibrant, strong, hysterically funny, sassy, loyal, loving and such a beautiful soul, I miss her every day of my life. My best wishes to you.
You guys really need to listen to the whole album of Jeff Wayne’s war of the worlds it will totally blow you away. It’s a little bit long but well worth the listen. I got to see Justin on his solo tour here in Denver Colorado and got to see him play this live he captured the whole amphitheater. I also got to see the Moody Blues at Red Rocks with the Colorado symphony orchestra they recorded it and it is a live album if you get the chance listen to that one too awesome night of music
@@MerchantOfAlba It's a musical version of the "War of the worlds" book by HG Wells, it's one of the greatest concept albums ever made and they also did live shows several times. th-cam.com/video/K1tdVRwKj4g/w-d-xo.html
I like the way you guys always notice not only the melodies, but also note the lyrics and the vocals and the way they all work together, and recognize the way it makes you feel when you hear a particular tune. Thank You very much for another great choice of videos to react to.
Released the year my mum and dad died, I was 9 years old. 'Like a song through the trees you came to love me, like a leaf on the breeze you blew away'. This song make me tearful every time.
Great you finally listened to this song. I remember seeing Jeff Wayne, Justin Hayward and an orchestra perform War of the Worlds about twenty years ago, with narrator Richard Burton projected on a screen. This song was sure a highlight of the evening
Justin Hayward's voice is so outstanding. I would recommend The Moody Blues "Tonight", "Voices in the Sky", "The Actor", and, of course, "Question" which has been suggested by me and many other commenters. You already know "Nights in White Satin". From the Justin Hayward/John Lodge collaboration Blue Jays, "I Dreamed Last Night". All of these are, IMHO, some of the best examples of his outstanding vocals, but of course there's many others. My wife's heart throb for over 50 years because of that break or yodel in his voice that is so emotional.
Please listen to the full version on Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds. They are all fleeing from the Martian Invaders and he is trying to find his Love in the millions who are fleeing.
Justin Hayward has a wonderful voice and this is a great song. The music features many rhythms and motifs from the overall theme of the War of the Worlds album. Listening to that album would give you a fuller perspective.
Justin got a call from Jeff to ask him to come and listen to it and sing it. Off he popped to the studio and did it. He never heard anything for about 18 months when he got a call from Jeff saying it is coming out on the album War of The Worlds. He loves telling that story in his tour before singing it. Edit - I am seeing him in concert next week

The song is a favourite at funerals when loved ones as pass away
Fall is indeed the best time of the year! And this is a great song! And you should find your way to an album titled, Bluejays, a collaboration between Justin Hayward (lead and backing vocals and lead guitar for the Moody Blues) and John Lodge (lead and backing vocals and bass guitar for the Moody Blues) that they worked on while the Moody Blues were on hiatus after the release of Seventh Sojourn. It's my favorite "Moodies" album. Thanks, and carry on with all the good you're doing!
One of the most beautiful songs in contemporary music. It is magical as a stand alone piece but it is even more poignant in the place that it has in "War Of The Worlds" narrative.
I kind of miss the narration of Richard Burton in the middle, You should listen to the double album set of the War Of The Worlds ,the music is innovative and there is a few other songs as well
Jeff Waynes amazing musical interpretation of the H. G. Wells classic Science Fiction novel. One of those albums that should be heard in full. Richard Burtons narration is top level.
You must do the album 'BLUE JAYS' by Justin Hayward & John Lodge. (from the moody blues). A particular track from the album (album version) to wet the appetite on you tube would be 'I dreamed last night'. Thank you for your excellent reactions. Always a pleasure.
Hey guys Love your channel...Here is a song I think you might enjoy....Six Ribbons ...by Jon English...Huge hit here in Australia back in the early 80s... Beautiful song
You should listen to this classic in context with the rest of The War Of The Worlds album, by Jeff Wayne. This is just a small piece of the story, based on HG Wells sci-fi tale of the Martian invasion of Earth. There's some wonderful storytelling on the album, as well as more great songs. Check it out, perhaps not on this channel, but at home, it's probably too long for a single reaction video, at around 1.5 hours!!
You need to hear the soundtrack recording from the album war of the worlds with the narration that recording sound a bit distorted to me trust me it adds to the song!!!!!

This is the most beautiful song ever written and sung about someone losing a loved one (most likely to death) . . . I cry whenever I hear it . . .
Ah, the sweetest TH-cam couple, reacting to one of the sweetest songs. It makes me feel a certain way every time I hear it.
Justin Hayward has one of the best voices in music, all genres included.
War of the worlds epic Justin Hayward was sublime but the star is Richard Burtons voice just poetry imo
Totally agree. The remake has been ruined
Richard Burton, couldn't agree more nobody comes close to his narration his voice and use of the English language is sublime
