YOU NO LONGER HAVE TO DISABLE AVX, PLEASE USE THE LATEST PROTON EXPERIMENTAL FOR THIS PATCH + LCD SCREENS ON THE MAPS HAVE BEEN FIXED!
IF YOU ARE RUNNING ARCH/ARCH BASED DISTROS, LATEST UBUNTU, FEDORA/FEDORA BASED DISTROS, YOU DO NOT NEED TO INCREASE THE VM MAX MAP COUNT!
INCREASING VM MAX MAP COUNT
sudo nano /etc/sysctl.d/vm.max_map_count.conf
add
vm.max_map_count=2147483642
then ctrl-x, y, enter to save :)

by any chance if you have tekken 8, could you make a video about setting that game up? there have been a lot of issues on getting that game setup for linux, especially going into online mode
Mm i have seen those issues floating around, i dont own it but maybe i will soon :)
Super frustrated here - The Finals almost starts on the 'connecting' screen.
I can't find enough detail on inputting commands in grub. Is AVX 512 even in AMD CPUs?
Showing your grub file would have been helpful.
cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep avx2
See if its listed
The reason i didnt show my grub is because im not using grub :) i even said in the video im using systemd for booting my distro
Make sure you're using the latest proton experimental or proton-ge 9
Make sure you have increased your vm max map count
There shouldn't be anything else needed to launch the game as iv ran the game under a rtx 2060 and a rx 6700 with both working with the game.
If your running amd it is also needed to run a newish mesa version like 23.3 or 24.0
if you got a 7000 series yes
I did figure it out - added a new line before the 'quiet' line in /etc/default/grub - GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=clearcpuid=304 - then sudo update-grub (in Nobara it's super easy)
i was able to install and play no issues so far ill try ur fixes if i run into anything. Im using debian CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600, GPU: RX 6600 XT.
This didn't work for me.
RTX 3070ti
Ryzen 7 5800x (doesn't have AVX512)
freshly generated compatdata folder
The game is currently broken on both windows and linux, wait for embark to fix it
TY!
I can now start the game but the the screen freezes. Is someone else having the same problem?

Have you tried both wayland and x11 to see if the issue still persists?
what is the name of the store to install mangohud ? and how can i download it ?
If you're on arch its pamac
@@linuxnext and if im not on arch how can i install mangohud ?
the finals not lunch on me and i am on arch linux
Hardware?
hay, I've tried this and can't get it to work. I've switched to proton experimental bleeding edge. I've added the line to grub but still when I launch it says launching and just switches back to play button. so it just fails to launch
I have amd ryzen 55600 cpu and rx 7800 xt gpu.
If anyone can help me get it running I'd be very grateful
You do not need to add that grub line as valve applied a patch in proton a while ago, what distro?
And do you have proton eac runtime installed?
@@linuxnext I'm on Nobara.
I've tried it with and without proton EAC runtime.
I've tried every fix mentioned on protondb but it still won't launch or run
if you can help me get it running I'd super appreciate it
@@Cyb3r-Kun can you use PROTON_LOG=1 %command% in your launch command for me and then when it doesnt launch attach that log to a google drive or whatever filer upload so i can have a look at what is happening
i would also try deleting your wine prefix, prop on the game in your steam library, updates, find the appid in there, go to your steam library folder where the finals is, compatdata, find the appid folder for the finals and delete it, verify the game
hey, i had the same problem as you, turns out it was because i was trying to run the game through my windows partition, lookup a guide on how to mount windows partition on steam
@@AbderrahmenLahyani id highly recommend not doing that, at some point it will fail, it is better if you had a separate ext4 or btrfs partition for your games on linux :P
I get ~165 fps avg on Arch, just like in Windows
All settings on low except textures on high. Ryzen 5600x + Radeon 6800 XT
are you using TAAU or FSR? I only get ~80fps with ryzen 5 3600 + 7700 XT
@@billc7 TAAU 100%, 2560x1440
@@postnozet do u think i am CPU limited? are you on wayland?
@@billc7 I'm on Wayland, KDE. I know Ryzen 3600 is worse CPU, but definitely not than 2 times... Really interesting, in this video i see not too much FPS too
I heard that some motherboard have a bad implementation of resizable bar. Can you test with "no_upload_hvv=1" environment variable? Or disable it in the bios
Yes you are cpu limited, your gpu is way too powerful and so your cpu cant keep up and so you get 80fps, its the same with me, my 3700x cant keep up with my 6700, so i only get around 70 to 80fps.
Im planning on upgrading to a 5700x3d
- i5-13400F
- RTX3060 (dkms drivers)
- 32GB RAM
- Archlinux zen running Hyprland
- Proton experimental
- max count (same as steam deck)
The game crashes a few seconds after the title screen/opening movie, invariably
Fixed it
@@PSELMASTER Can you let me know how to fix it. I am on 13700k on nvidia. I have it almost load and then has a transparent screen of my desktop. Not sure what to do. I am also on arch
@@BR-wc7nh I would, expect that I don't remember how. I do I know I experimented with steam args
Game works for me. But it runs not quite well, on windows its butter smooth
I agree, the proton devs have been working on improving frame timing which has improved a lot since it got supported + if your running a amd gpu then you will also get patches from mesa for radv.
So give it another couple of months and performance could be on par or even above
@@linuxnext I have a 6600 xt on me , but I also have rtx 3070 so sadly I'm using nvidia
Understandable, if it would me i would sell the 3070 and get a 7000s gpu for linux :P
im locked in
