In the first Doctor Strange movie, we’re told that he has a photographic memory, and that’s how he was able to memorise the Ancient One’s spells. This means that our Doctor Strange still remembers the Darkhold even tho it’s been destroyed
Darkhold is a book of infinite knowledge. It opens up the page directly for which the user wants to use it for. You can never learn it completely. And I don't think memorising the spells is a problem here....for some of the darkhold spells to be cast, you need the darkhold physically to be there.
12:00 Stephen's injury is calculated to be from 2021 because she saw how old it is and subtracted those years from the current date, however she did not realize he didn't exist for 5 years so 5 years of age is missing. If we add those 5 years to the age of his injury, it would go from 2021 to 2016, which was the correct year he sustained the injury.
I found it interesting that when Strange said "she destroyed the Darkhold in *every* universe", he put special emphasis on the word "every" This implies to me that Strange was either shocked by her immense power in being able to do that OR that the Darkhold was needed for something, and Wanda messed something up by destroying it
Strange has photographic memory, he had a glimpse of the book of vishanti and a lot more than that of darkhold, so either when he says "every" it means that he cannot remember the book pages and wanda erased his memory, thus the shock, or he is trying to conceal the fact that he remembers the pages with the fear of what might become of him if he tries to use those spells
@@mojtaba4911 It's because he knows he's the only one now who has any remnants of Darkhold left in the whole multiverse. It's the very reason he grows a third eye.
That scene when Wanda turns her focus and looks directly at us watching her is amazing. Wanna is aware of all universes including the universe where people are watching a movie of her life as entertainment.
16:55 I'm glad you pointed out how Wanda absorbed Captain Marvel's power before killing her bcos it seems like a lot of ppl thought Capt. Marvel was defeated too easily, but it makes perfect sense that Wanda would be able to kill her after absorbing her power.
That's subjective though. It could be absorption but it could be Cap Marvel just getting weaker by the OP attack. Either way, it's not explained so this is just an assumption.
@@weirdnoise11 the movie showed Wanda rewriting reality with black bolts mouth. it's fair to assume she just negated her ability considering the Captain Marvel power is a force.
@@siphonophores i like how in the movie scarlet witch used the knowledge she had from endgame and infinity war to outsmart the illuminati and used it to her advantage instead of letting her win because she is simply more powerful
I really appreciate the insane amount of details the visual effects team put in for the scene where Strange and Chavez were traveling through the universes. I love how they gave a nod to the comics that everything is canon there to the MCU as well.
As a fan of Elizabeth Olsen she really did a great job in this film! Great acting, you can see the sadness in her eyes. I actually thought this is more of a Wanda/Scarlet Witch movie than Doctor Strange. IMO. Overall its an Excellent Film!
I think it's still very rooted in doctor strange. And the common theme of dealing with being unhappy is shared between hero and villain. I'd say this is more like a civil war type movie. It can easily be an iron man movie depending on who you side with lol.
16:48 Capitan Carter's death is also similar to the Green Goblin in Spiderman. The Close up of her face before the shield hits her is the same as Osborn's before he gets stabbed by his glider, I half expected her to say "oh" This is a clear reference to Rami's other films
3:33 notice how the room in Wanda's dream sequence is actually mirror image of the room in WandaVision. The lamp between Tommy and Billy's bed and other things placed there indicates that. Maybe it hinted towards 838 being reverse of our universe. They go on red and stop on green.
Also, the WandaVision scene was was *cool toned* because it was a sad part in the series, having to let go of her children. And in MoM, the 838 scene was *warm toned* as it was a pleasant place that 616 Wanda could only wish she was in.
Another thing I noticed about 838 is the colors. On 616, people wear colorful clothes and live in a gray concrete urban jungle. In 838, the buildings are covered in vibrant colors and all the people wear gray clothes. I just thought that reverse on the colors was neat
There is one hard to spot detail as well with Charles, where the Scarlet Witch didnt just snap his neck, but if you look closely, she ripped his head off from the jaw, which is why he died
The reason I think Iron man was not around is because "Ultron" the peacekeeping initiative worked in this universe, Tony's reasoning in Avengers: Age of Ultron was that he wanted to make Ultron so that he could rest and not worry about future threats that faced earth. Hence in this universe it worked so he could retire and not worry about putting himself out there to fight threats.
@@Lightninzx I think her husband in this universe was probably Simon Williams (Wonder Man), who had a relationship with her in the comics and brainwaves were used for vision similar to how Banner, Stark and Jarvis were used in the MCU in AoU.
The VFX teams, editors and animators (and many others) probably love people like you for noticing such small and interesting details that nobody else really notices
When the Canadian Lad said that "Captain Carter" was sliced in half, we can already know that she was sliced in half without that tiny detail at 16:47 . If she wasn't cut in half, her shield wouldn't have hit the wall after we see her die. But it did. which automatically means it went straight through her.
I don’t think he was using that as a detail since it should’ve been obvious. I think he was complimenting the visual effects team for going as far as to make sure her body fell accurately even though most of us watching may not have paid that close of attention in theaters, so it’s better seen at 0.25x speed
@@cayden2744 yes, exactly! If we look at the shield closely, only one side of it has blood on it. Insinuating that only a part of the shield actually "went through" her. If it sliced her in half, the entire shield would be covered in red substance!
There's another hidden detail. When Professor X said "Just because someone stumbles and loses their path, doesn't mean they're lost forever" to Mordo, it's a reference to X-Men Days of Future Past. He also said the same line to young Charles Xavier. It's so amazing.
@oscarsanchez he probably noticed it but like he said, he didn't want to do the obvious ones. he wanted to give us the ones we are less likely to notice
That detail of Wanda actually looking like a witch and appearing normal through magic is amazing, I would've never noticed. Specially in that underground scene where Dr. Strange floods the tunnel.
One detail im a little surprised you didnt notice: When Wanda is in the mirror dimention, when shes looking at all her refelctions, the one above her head to the left is reaching her arm out, while Wanda and all the other reflections have their arms down next to her hips.
Wonder if it’s some sort of symbolism of her inner self trying to reach out and stop her from being controlled by the dark hold. Almost like a little part of her knows something is wrong with what they are doing
@@TheJimJaspers If it was a mistake, shed be standing still, not moving her arm and looking around. And itd be harder to make one different than to make many do the same
@@PANKAJKUMAR-rm1py most TH-camrs are guessing for views. If it didn't come from the mouth of the creators or isn't very obviously visible then it's just speculation
Except they also fuck up more in doing that. For example, why were there no Visions in any of these universes? Who is the father of these children if not him?
because the kids Wanda remembers where a creation of the hex. The kids she eventually finds are not part of that hex because the hex is gone which means that those kids are naturally born. Wanda actually got really pregnant with a real man, not vision, although I really wonder who it was. That's just my take tho
One more detail : When America Shavez want to open a portal whenever during the movie, she always open a lot of portals at the same time. We can actually see it because there are multiple stars (one by portal). But at the end of the movie, when she shows to Wanda what she wanted, we can only see one star. Which means that she finaly has the control over her power and she can choose which universe she wants to go !
@@Mohit-bk4nu @_carbon.acid_ 70+ likes on that comment disagree with you two about that being "duh" or "fucking obvious". While everyone knows that Chavez figured out a way to control her powers after Strange's pep talk but what Justin is saying is that we can see the evidence of that by looking at the portals too.
I saw a theory about the darkhold not being entirely destroyed since Stephen is confirmed to have a photographic memory so depending on how well he read the darkhold he is technically a living darkhold
@@KeybladeWarriorMaj if he has a photographic memory, all he has to do is see it. He may have quickly flipped through the pages, and I do believe that that signified him being a "living darkhold."
My theory about 838 Strange's cloak being blue is that it's a really special cloak made from the same material as Reed Richard's costume. Meaning, Reed Richards probably made it for him and Strange likely ditched his Cloak of Levitation because the new one could do so many different cool things with that tech. Also important to consider, 838 Strange may have lost his Cloak of Levitation due to using the Darkhold so much because it has sentience and seems to have a set of ethics/morality. After he was abandoned by it, Strange may have been gifted a brand new blue cloak made by Reed Richards from his special tech cloth. That's also what is patched into 616 Strange's cloak after it got burned.
When I saw this in theaters I was thinking Mr Fantastics death just didn’t make sense. Turing him into noodles wouldn’t actually kill him. His body can literally mold into any shape. When I watched it again I noticed once she got to his head she actually blew it up. That made so much more sense. I also like how they made it look like she was using the reality stone.
@Janatsak Yep, I think alike, reality stone can be absorbed like Jane did in Thor the Dark World. And Wanda knows how to destroy an infinity stone. Where did he get it? Check the infinity gauntlet at 13:33.
I don't think it's like plastic man where bits of himself can survive separated. He's stretchy, but if you cut a limb off or shred him that should do the trick like stretch Armstrong 😔
@Janatsak her powers came from the mind stone though didn’t they? They showed it in Wandavision I think Edit: they didn’t come from the Maidstone, they were just unlocked by it (i think)
The one thing I truly loved about the introduction of Professor X. Besides him having his iconic yellow hover chair from the 1997 X-men cartoon show. U can also hear the X-men theme that played during the beginning of the show. Also if they can bring back Patrick Stewart to play Professor X. I'm wondering if they'll bring Hugh Jackman back to play Wolverine. He literally said that he's always wanted to be in a movie with The Avengers. I'm truly hoping he does come back. Even if it's just one time. Marvel has the chance to finally make a Hulk vs Wolverine movie. I know for a fact that it would break Endgame's box office record.
Another thing to notice is how every Strange variant is shown with a cape except for Defender Strange, which could mean that Defender Strange has an entirely diferent set of magical item that selected him as its master.
@@lilac951 That's the thing. In main timeline the boots chose Mordo, and Chavez only knows of Mordo after she entered Earth-838, meaning in Defender Strange's Earth there may not be a Mordo there and the boots chose him instead of the cloak.
I want to make a spoof video "watching the canadian lad in 0.25x speed" and then just be like "Well, he found everything" and end the video after 30 seconds.
@@kingblueaxolotl6584 In the scene where Professor X enters Wanda’s head, when she “snaps his neck” as most assumed she actually split his head in half. Look for the scene and watch his death on a slower speed
I think the dragon that doctor strange attacks Wanda with is actually Hydra, because every time she cut off one head another appeared, so Wanda had to rewrite reality as if Hydra never existed.
@@kylegraham7363 maybe not, but is what hydra means, cut one head and more appears, I'm not good at explaining stuff at all so if you want to know more of hydra you can watch agents of shield (or even agent Carter I guess)
it wasnt that complex actually, it was just a hydra he summoned, cut its head off and 2 grow in its place, she kept cutting off the heads, realized it was a hydra, and burned the whole body at once, which is the same way its killed in the original myth, not a reference to the organization in this case, but a reference to history
At 4:19 you can see an amazing continuity detail from Black Widow. When Natasha puts her hands to her stomach, many suspected she was pregnant. Although in Black Widow we know she underwent an involuntary hysterectomy, leaving her sterile and incapable of reproducing. She was actually worried about Yelena, who gave her the vest at the end of Black Widow when Melina and Red Guardian went with Yelena and the other Widow's at the end of the movie.
Pretty sure most people assumed Widow had been injured in that scene, especially after seeing her being beat up by Proxima Midnight and then having a cage of rocks dumped on her by Thanos. We've known since Age of Ultron that Widow was sterile.
@@thembanitheone probably, prior to watching this, I had scene a lot of old theories of "Natasha might've been pregnant" despite the impossibility of that
One of my favorite details that I noticed that it seems most people didn't. Blackbolt was not killed by Wanda. Wanda made his mouth disappear and he screamed. Without having a mouth for his power to flow out it exploded his head. So Blackbolt actually killed himself.
I don't think he did. An absolutely integral aspect of Black Bolt is that he spend years training to NEVER make a sound unless he wanted to. Ever. He doesn't make any noise in his sleep, or when he's in pain, or surprised, or anything. Because if he didn't have that level of control, he'd kill everyone around him all the time.
That's the exact thing though if you remember how wanda was always ahead or her timing she knew what she was doing she knew that if she took his mouth he would screaming basically exploding his own head, she was basically ahead of the game.
@@TyrKovacs he was probably thinking it would possibly hurt a little but he would blow a hole through the covering, so tried to attack, but the covering was his own mouth, which can reflect his voice, and bounced it back into his own skull
The Theory that I have seen and is the most plausible is that Strange, having a Photographic Memory, still has all the information contained in the Darkhold in his mind. And that Information was most likely not destroyed, which is why he has that pause at the end. Wanda did destroy all the Darkholds, but he could theoretically recreate a Darkhold as he has memorized it just by looking at it.
I like when Stephen finally redeemed himself in terms of love towards Christine in front of Earth 838's Christine by saying 'I love you in every universe' & finally he changed the glass of the watch which Christine (from Earth 616) gave him as a gift which simply inicates that Stephen has no guilt in his mind anymore
There is one detail about Wanda's "death" scene you didn't mention. When Darkhold sanctuary is crumbling, there is a moment, when we can see red light flashing from under the stones. Maybe this means she somewhat teleported or shielded herself, or maybe just like with Hela death scene, where there was green flash, this just proves she realy died. Anyway I'm just pointing it out. Great video as always :)
#39 I think the "long pause" Strange takes is him remembering what he saw of the dark hold. Remember in the first Dr. Strange he says he has a photographic memory. That's how he got his doctorate. It's possible that he may not only remember how to dream walk but he may also remember what was written on the walls in the temple.
in the comcis the darkhold contains near infinite knowledge, but theres only so much space on the temple walls, so only so many spells in the mcu version, the infinite knowledge part of the books could be from them all accessing variations of the same spell from alternate realities. and if that's the case, she basically only destroyed one version of the book, and would have to destroy the temple in each reality to actually destroy them all.
This breakdown simply shows how everyone is wrong when saying it would be impossible for Captain Marvel to be killed by a statue. You, sir, needs more love just for this
but can't captain marvel absorbe eny type of energy even the infinity stones so accurately she would have just absorbed wandas attacks endlessly until somthing changed
The long brake Steven takes when Wanda destroyed the darkhold in every universe in my opinion is not because she is on hibernate. I think a part of him had the option in mind to use the darkhold to fix his love. And that desperate option is now gone forever. He is not sad because it was never really going on that thought, but he was tempted anyway.
That wouldn't have any sense though as the point of the whole movie is to stop the usage of Darkhold for personal gain in which Strange was already against with since the beginning. If that is the case, he would have traded Chavez to Wanda and not go to the whole trouble. The real reason for that could be that the destruction of all Darkhold may have caused an incursion in which Strange realized afterwards.
There's another detail in the post-credits scene: When the Pizza guy (played by Bruce Campbell) finally stops hitting himself (due to a spell that Strange said would last *three weeks* ), his injuries magically heal. The cuts and bruises rapidly fade away.
17:10 I knew that Wanda absorbed Captain Marvel's power even though everyone else was confused to why a pillar would kill her. I don't know why people were confused about this.
One of my favorite parts of the film is when Xavier quotes that line from Days of Future Past: “just because someone stumbles and loses their way, it doesn’t mean they’re lost forever.”
One detail that I found that you didn’t mention would be when the book of Versailles was destroyed, one of the pages was shown and on it was America Chavez’s star. It’s one of my favorite details from the movie and really helps to forward the plot a lot.
I think the long pause Dr Strang makes after Wonda destroys the dark hold in all realities is not so much him calculating if she is dead or not... It's him checking his memory. He has a photographic memory... He's checking to see if he can still recall the Dark Hold... and that little worried look he makes... is him knowing he CAN. That's him realising that he IS the dark hold now... But as it's only a memory of the book and not the book itself maybe it can't corrupt him... maybe this is why he has the third eye in the final teaser scene.
If it was just her shield, Peggy wouldn't be sliced into half. But if you slow it down, Wanda actually coated the side of the shield that's going towards peggy with chaos magic to really penetrate her body. Now that's detail detail 👏
@@Towkeeyoh the shield is shown to be able to slice through metal, especially in Age of Ultron where he uses it to just slice through Ultron’s robots. Maybe Captain America is just so skilled at using it that he catches it without the edge hitting his hand? It seems to have uneven power throughout marvel as sometimes it only annoys people whereas others it slices straight through strong metal. But yeh, the magic could have definitely been to make it sharper or have more speed or something like that.
17:44 ish was a great time to point out 1 thing about the Wanda under the rubble. If you really slow it down when Wanda pulls her hand back right before Wanda's true form kills Prof X, you can see that her fingertips turned dark right before she fully puts her hand back into the darkness. Also, if you have the brightness up or you watched this on a big screen, you can see Wanda under the rubble after she pulled all the way back...she didn't disappear. This could suggest why Prof X was acting strange or seemingly confused. Maybe he thought he breached her mind when in actuality he never did. Maybe Wanda's spell tricked him? Thus, why he looked like "oh sh*t, something is up with this." I liked how it was pointed out her true form was showing during the limping chase sequence.
i thought it was the darkhold version of wanda. Didn't know it was her true form after being corrupted. And I thought Wanda tranced charles inside her mind so he cant move so the witch wanda form can snap his head
YES! THANK YOU! I rewatched Wanda squashing quite a few times already as well and I noticed her siphoning Captain Marvels energy as well! That's why her yellow photon aura was disappearing and her mask. In Captain Marvel's movie, when Carol decides to shed her Kree inspired flightsuit, she decides on new colors and then the suit is transformed by the suit itself using her energy. So it made sense that when Wanda absorbed Maria Rambeaus energy, that her mask would disappear. Plus, when she absorbed her energy, she seemed to mix it with her own Chaos magic, which was why the explosion was orange. Wanda knows how powerful Captain Marvel is, so she knew she needed to weaken her by absorbing her energy first, then hit her with an energy signature that is similar to it's own, which she learned from Vision. Which is why she had to destroy the Mind Stone herself, because her powers were enhanced by the Mind Stone, so she was the only one in the MCU who could have destroyed the Mind Stone. And since Captain Marvel got her powers from the Space Stone, Wanda knew that Maria had to be hit by a similar energy. With a mixture of photon energy and chaos magic, it's no wonder Captain Marvel died so easily, Wanda is just so overpowered. When she was fighting Peggy, she knew exactly how to counter her super soldier abilities and the Vibranium shield. She instantaneously waited for Peggy to throw it at her, which she was ready for and never taking her eyes off of Peggy, then as soon as she had the chance, she made sure it was out of play when she stuck it into the structure of the wall. This way she could deal with Captain Marvel firsthand, then she took Maria out of action for just the right amount of time to kill Peggy. The only heroes that Wanda didnt have any information on were Reed Richards and Black Bolt. Black Bolt was the bigger threat, so as soon as Reed told her Black Bolts power, she took care of the biggest threat. And Reed already showed his hand when he arrived. He came in stretching, so Wanda could visually see his power. So Wanda instantly restrained his limbs, while turning him into play dough spaghetti. You can see Reed trying to move his arms, but Wanda had restrained them and started slicing him from the bottom up, which would be most practical. Wanda basically took care of the 2 unknown threats as quickly as possible, then slowly started working on the threats that she knew how to handle. People were mad when MoM was released, but it just shows how much of a threat Wanda is. It shows exactly how powerful she is, and how fast she is able to think while fighting.
mad? lol. more like disappointed for lazy writing. makes sense why marvel hired the writer of rick and morty, rather than a writer who know comics. such a waste.
Amazing analysis. The Scarlet Witch is such an all-rounder when it comes to combat; an expert marksman, a durable tank, a proficient fighter, and much more wtf, like, she's got it all (except a happy family, apparently)
I didn't think this movie was the best the marvel crew had put together, my biggest take away was how they created a villain out of someone with all the perfect power, but imperfect/broken in every respect as a human. It made it completely relatable, and the absolute power corrupts absolutely trope didn't feel like a trope.
The editing, the script, the way of conveying the information ... No one does it as good as you ... Even if we knew some details, yet it seems new and more attractive when you explain that ... Great work Canadian Lad...
lol nah it's just the magic red smoke covering his face that makes it look like she's ripping his jaw out or something. I mean they made the breaking sound effect and showed Charles snap his head sideways in real life afterward.
@@Magneticitist nah, bc if you look, shes holding the lower half in one and charles' top half is like facing sideways, she did indeed rip it in the mind area
i don't hate it and i saw it in the cinema but there a glaring inconsistencies that if you think more and more about it, well it makes less and less sense, Wong's girlfriend chose to destroy the darkhold when Wanda was clearly vulnerable while dream walking, Reed's idiotic mistake that got blackbolt killed, Wanda flying to the illuminaty hq but then limping after strange and the crew after killing the illuminaty and not even using her power to pull chavez towards her as she does literally 1 min later, i liked the movie when i watched it in the theater but i can't watch it again without feeling like it's just kind of dumb ...
No one really hates the movie itself, they (me included) hated on the ridiculous writing on some part, but of course some people used it to blame the entire movie.
@@evilbrox1801 I feels like they gave away too much inconsistencies just so Raimi can add some horror element here and there, which was fun to watch at first but is bullshit when you think about it.

I watched the movie in theatre but didn't feel that well, but after ur breakdown I realised such a great movie it was, I am big fan of horror genre, MCU + HORROR great combo and oslen nailed it...tq lad
Exactly though MoM might not be a "full horror" it's still great but I do want the Scarlet Witch solo films (if ever that's true cause they said there'll be a standalone Scarlet Witch trilogy) and I want it to be a full horror thriller bloody....aaaa enough for the comedy tbh.
It had great horror elements. The scariest scene imo was when Wanda directly looked into the camera after possessing her alternate version. Gave me chills
When I watched the scene where they travel the multiverse in the theater, I was like damn, I'll have to wait for the Canadian Lad to explain those universes. Such a great detailed video!
same, it happened so fast that i needed someone like Lad to address everything (also dont listen to that scammer, same response but similiar alt account name)
not sure if anyone caught it, but when wanda is using the darkhold to show strange, wong, and america a variant of wanda and her kids the variant actually senses wanda and looks at the direction we’re viewing them from
Every analysis that I watch of this movie makes me appreciate it even more. Sadly it's only appreciable to us nerds that dig deeper into these movies and actually understand the 252542 references and easter eggs, thanks to channels like yours. Now You, YOU Canadian Lad! You've given awesome details! Heck, the very first detail, the opening note in the opening sequence, that itself blew my mind. The other details, about how Captain Marvel died under some rocks, were much needed because there are so many people who ate Waldron up for not writing well. This movie has its flaws but not everything was poorly-written as the haters say. And I was waiting for you to break down the music battle scene. Right in the moment I watched it in the theatre. You're awesome Canadian Lad! Thank you for helping us appreciate this film even more.
Now if only the quality of the writing of this mess of a movie would match up with the quality and attention to detail of the easter eggs and references... yeah, the details were amazing, but sadly the movie is still shit.
That's why strong writing and explanation matters. All the things you said about Wanda being too strong were true but we still find it difficult to take the illuminati seriously. People will always doubt how those idiots were a bigger threat to Thanos than the 616 Avengers.
I think having Captain Marvel AND Black Bolt there on Titan would have made ALL the difference.... and technically they could have beat Thanos in Infinity War if not for stupid Starlord.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I understand, the whole point was that the Illuminati weren't a bigger threat to Thanos than the 616 Avengers. 616 Avengers were strong and coordinated enough to beat Thanos the "right" way while the Illuminati didn't stand a chance against Thanos and cheated by letting their Dr. Strange do the dirty work of defeating Thanos by any means necessary. Then the Illuminati turned around and killed Strange for using the Dark Hold. All the hailing of Illuminati-verse Strange as a hero with statues made of him reeks of the Illuminati's guilt for killing the guy who saved them.
I also noticed that in the scene where Dr. Strange meets 838 Mordo, in the background, there are some windows that have some writing on them. In one of the windows it says "Maps and travel guides" which I find quite interesting seeing that Dr. Strange begins to understand the multiverse more when he enters the sanctorium. So it's basically like the map for him
Thanks Lad, now that was a great breakdown. Didn't think that I've missed so much from Multiverse of Madness and I'm way more excited to see Wanda's return next year 😍😊
The few moments I didn't like in this movie are fixed in my eyes thanks to your breakdown. I didn't realize Wanda took Captain Marvel's power, and was bothered when the "defender of the cosmos" meets her match in a falling statue. Thanks Lad!
I LOVED this video! You pointed out so many details I never would have noticed on my own. Knowing every little detail, things make more sense. I also like how you mentioned that during Wanda’s(Sw) fight with the Illuminati how she’s an excellent fighter because of her Avenger training. I never would have thought about that. But I have to disagree with you about her being afraid or worried about Peggy’s shield. Yes, she was keeping a close eye on her but I dont think it was in fear of the shield. (She was just fighting) She got hit with that Cannon during her battle at Kamar Taj and all it did was push her back. Also on Wanda Vison Monica shoots her clothes from the hex and it does nothing because they were protected by her magic. So thats why i dont think she was worried about the shield, even if Peggy would have hit her with it, I doubt it would have did any damage because Wanda has some kind of force field at all times protecting her from taking any damage. All it would have done was knock her back or down if she was hit with it.
This movie made me fall into love with Marvel after having grown up watching most of the movies in theater, but never truly loving them. This breakdown was such a joy to watch. Thank you for the work you put into it!
Seeing ALL of these neat easter eggs and attentions to detail just frustrates me even more that the writing wasn't on par with it. Once Wanda is fully allowed to be The Scarlet Witch, fighting her way into The Illuminati Headquarters, she becomes something threatening and sinister we've yet to see and I thought it was AWESOME. I would have liked it if the story with America Chavez did more to develop her into a likeable character and focused more so on the relationship Wanda and Steven have as the two foremost individuals in their universe when it comes to directly interacting with the multiverse. I'm hoping, now that this movie has been released and tripped, we'll see both of them given a much more deserving role in future films. Thanks again for your wonderful work!
MCU cannot have time to do that, Chavez was supposed to be in Spidey NWH inb4 MCU swapped release dates. She was supposed to bring Andrew and Tobey in MCU universe instead of Ned. So she would be already Stephen's apprentice in NWH and actually help Peter/MJ/Ned. Dr Strange sequel was supposed to open idea about Multiverse and then NWH was supposed to be "Endgame" of that.
@@mr.iiconic I’m not sure how they know it but it makes sense, Loki was originally one of the main characters of Multiverse of Madness and they had to scrap that because of how much was happening in the movie
This movie wasted Mordo, Black Bolt, Mr Fantastic and Professor X because of the meh writing and plot. Don't get me started on the build up to get the Book of Vishanti, the so called powerful book that will grant powers to sorcerer when needed to, were destroy in a matter of seconds and it's the only one in a multiverse but not the Darkhold that exist in many universe. This movie feels more like the sequel to Wanda Vision rather Dr Strange. Marvel and Disney just slap Dr Strange movie for the name to bait the audience. The big issue here is why Wanda just so hell bent to get his son back without any strong compelling reason like other evil person did? The movie try to paint her as a tragic villian and make audience sympathy to her like f off movie. In one scene Wong asked Wanda, "but I do wonder when you could force America to send you to any universe you want, why take her power for your own? You know it would kill her". And Wanda simply replied "for Billy and Tommy, to protect them. What if they get sick?" The hell, movie just casually ignored it's biggest weakness that responsible for driving the entire plot.
13:26 Thanos has the Power, Soul, Space and Reality Stone so he still encountered Thor and most likely killed loki for the Space Stone, he still managed to kill the Collector, and he sacrificed Gamora to get the Soul Stone, it's safe to say he was completely obliterated at Titan so Vision still lives and Steven never gave him the Time Stone
Be honest I watch ecah details in two or three times and each time i thought about this man, that how passionate and the level of craziness he has about @marvel. This man literally show us how @marvel put it's hardwork for each and every single scenes of movie....! 🙌🙌
If you look closely at the bees, you could notice them looking sad. This is because one of their friends got stepped on by a dog. Jokes aside, you missed the fact that Wanda actually didnt snap professor x’s neck, she split his head into two
One thing I noticed about Xavier is that when he faces off against Wanda, not only does he do the pose, he also has psychic rings emanate from him just like in the cartoon. Wicked cool detail IMO!

I really liked when you pointed out the Dominos falling when Wanda was dreamwalking. I was looking forward for one more detail - The Dominos were white on one side and black on the other. This is a silent visual nod to how a good Wanda is going to be possessed by an evil one.
I always feel like Peggy's death at 16:41 was a gone wrong version of when steve is able to take back the shield then the winter soldier throws it back at him in the movie tws
Hey lad, I noticed something my self too. Defender strange says to chavez "Putting the grand calculus of the multiverse, your sacrifice is worth more than your life" Also in spiderman no way home, our strange says to peter the same line, about the sinister six villians.
I'm glad you gave a quick recap; I've seen so many people gloss over the significance of the movie for Strange's character; it's not the greatest movie, but it was some Raimi fun and it did have a point that it communicated, I think, quite well.
I also like how she healed herself after escaping the mirror dimension/prison/trap; while she was coming out, her head was also twisted in a way that a normal person would have died from, her instantly healing herself proves she is more durable than before.
Elizabeth Olsen portrays Scarlet Witch so well, she was so scary in this movie, especially when she BROKE THE FOURTH WALL! That scene gave me chills. 20:24
A detail you missed. When scarlet witch stepped on the button and when the glass appeared she got scared and then went into a block pose flinching so this means she actually got scared when he trapped her in the glass dimension which proves there’s a part of her that’s still human and that’s still young.
Dude! How much patient you are... like literally you watched it for 3 days.. i mean for sure you would not watched it for 3 days continuously , but still... hats off
The reason why it didn't or as bloody was because his skin is immune to his powers so in other words it wouldn't have worked and that's how accurate his death is.
4:36 Wouldn't it make more sense that the sorcerers on the ground were creating the mirror dimension trap because it seems all of the other sorcerers were generating the shield, not the ones on the floor
You know what- our Stephen's cloak having a piece of 838's cloak actually makes a lot of sense. I wondered why they drew attention to his cloak getting a hole in it and then being patched up, it never goes anywhere or is even really mentioned. So it's either a very subtle detail just for eagle eyed fans or it was going to be more significant but got cut in all the rewrites.
its going to be the reason for an incursion, they said when pieces of one reality go to another it will end up causing an incursion if they remain, and he took it back home, but its just a little piece of fabric, so it'll take time for it to actually have an affect
I really love all of the details in this movie that you pointed out for us. This makes me understand the movie much better and I want to wish you a good luck to anything else that your gonna do in the future…WE LOVE YOU LAD
3:28 i love that detail because of 1 reason. A lot of people says she "learned touse her power out of nowhere" but as Strange said, she always knew how to control it, she always sent them to the right places in the multiverse
In the starting scene of the movie when Wong, Doctor Strange and the Girl was having breakfast Stephen said, “....There was this one incident with SPIDER - MAN”. This shows that even after wiping the memory of Peter Parker aka Spider-Man Dovctor Strange still rememberers Peter in somewhat way...
Professor X: “Just because someone stumbles and loses their way doesn’t mean they’re lost forever” Also Professor X: Had an alternate version of Strange be killed because he lost his way
I watched the movie thrice, expecting to find even a minor disappointment (because a lot of people didn't like it for some reason(s)) but upon every rewatch I found it made even more sense.
if you have to watch it thrice in order to fully understand it, then its not a great movie. one of the things that i didnt like about the movie is how Dr. strange was nerfed badly. he was so strong in the infinity war, yet here he gets tossed around and got his ass handed to him multiple times.
@@kenzacharyrodriguez2591 I didn't watch it thrice to 'fully understand' it. 😅 It's not that complicated. I re-watched expecting to find plot holes and unexplained things and couldn't find any significant ones. Also, if I do need to rewatch a film to fully understand it, it IS a great film. Comic books and movies are filled with scenarios that turn out against what we previously know. Thor beats hulk, Hulk beats Thor, Thanos beats Hulk, Thor and Loki. Thanos beats Wanda with one hand, Wanda beats Thanos. Hawkeye beats Black Widow, Black Widow beats Hawkeye. It would just be pokemon without these turnarounds. 😅
12:02 makes even more sense considering 2021 is 4 years ahead of 2025, and 2012 is 4 ahead of 2016. 2016 is when Strange suffered his injuries in 616, but 838 Strange was injured in 2012. Parallel timelines with events happening simultaneously, just with offset timing designations.
Another detail that you’ve missed and in this is actually when Charles enters Wanda’s mind, the scarlet witch came behind him and ripped his face in half, and didn’t snap his neck
Just found this channel like that you pay so much attention to the small details that people undoubtedly put a lot of work into. People are quick to badmouth a movie without noticing these things. 👍🏾
One thing I noticed when watching this was when America, Strange and Christine found the book of vishanti, before it got destroyed you could see a star on the page indicating that the thing needed to defeat Wanda was America all along, and I noticed that without 0.25x speed
At 4:38, they’re not making a shield, they are creating the glass trap for Wanda that you mention after as that’s the exact spot that she steps on to activate the trap
@@michaelrichards5340 What other MoM should strange be in other than Wanda/Scarlet Witch? Plus, in this movie, two mothers lost their single child to which the single child is searching for her two mothers. In perfect opposition to a single mother losing her two children and is searching for them. Both are the cause of their own loss and determination of reconciliation. Seems like a sound place to put Dr. Strange considering he’s really the only person that can deal with it. He quelled the whole situation by using the power of music and his mind. Damn he’s so OP without even using real powers other than his intellect. People need to relax and put more thought into the lore of the film other than a clear bias for a character.

Ok
hi
First comment
Ok
Nice.. appreciate
In the first Doctor Strange movie, we’re told that he has a photographic memory, and that’s how he was able to memorise the Ancient One’s spells. This means that our Doctor Strange still remembers the Darkhold even tho it’s been destroyed
Yoo this is underrated
it affected him too
@@Arandomperson675 how is that not the darkhold affecting him...
@@Arandomperson675 The darkhold is in his brain (memory) corrupting him like it did Strange Supreme, who had the third eye
If we add those 5 years to the age of his injury, it would go from 2021 to 2016, which was the correct year he sustained the injury.
i think you might be right mate

So u r saying 838 universe is in 2026 era?
@@universalallrounder yes
Bingo
I found it interesting that when Strange said "she destroyed the Darkhold in *every* universe", he put special emphasis on the word "every"
This implies to me that Strange was either shocked by her immense power in being able to do that
OR that the Darkhold was needed for something, and Wanda messed something up by destroying it
@Ryan Byrd tbh there is one dark hold left in strange,s mind bc he has a photographic memory
@@ld_rey Tell that to Spiderman...
@@joeyblowinski6116 NO LMAO strange was affected to the spell too I thino
That’s kinda scary when you think about it

That was actually an impressive move to be honest. She knows Cpt. Marvel is able to overpower her so she absorbed the blast and threw it back at her

The Close up of her face before the shield hits her is the same as Osborn's before he gets stabbed by his glider, I half expected her to say "oh"
This is a clear reference to Rami's other films
“Oh”
It's a saim raimi style for closeup to the face or eyes u can spot that in every saim raimi movies
3:33 notice how the room in Wanda's dream sequence is actually mirror image of the room in WandaVision.
The lamp between Tommy and Billy's bed and other things placed there indicates that.
Maybe it hinted towards 838 being reverse of our universe. They go on red and stop on green.
That really is a nice catch
Also, the WandaVision scene was was *cool toned* because it was a sad part in the series, having to let go of her children.
And in MoM, the 838 scene was *warm toned* as it was a pleasant place that 616 Wanda could only wish she was in.
@@mav572 👍👌👍
Another thing I noticed about 838 is the colors. On 616, people wear colorful clothes and live in a gray concrete urban jungle. In 838, the buildings are covered in vibrant colors and all the people wear gray clothes. I just thought that reverse on the colors was neat
I would have expected 838's vehicle brake lights to be green. They were not.

The reason I think Iron man was not around is because "Ultron" the peacekeeping initiative worked in this universe, Tony's reasoning in Avengers: Age of Ultron was that he wanted to make Ultron so that he could rest and not worry about future threats that faced earth. Hence in this universe it worked so he could retire and not worry about putting himself out there to fight threats.
i thought it was heavily implied the ultron program was done by Reed and thus why it was likely successful
then how is vision divorced from wanda ultron went bad and created vision but then it got fused with jarvis
In the original comic series, Ultron is made by Hank Pym (Ant Man), so in that universe it was probably made by someone like Reed Richards.
@@Lightninzx I think her husband in this universe was probably Simon Williams (Wonder Man), who had a relationship with her in the comics and brainwaves were used for vision similar to how Banner, Stark and Jarvis were used in the MCU in AoU.
More likely marvel don't want to introduce another iron man due to iron man's impact on endgame
The VFX teams, editors and animators (and many others) probably love people like you for noticing such small and interesting details that nobody else really notices
The level of detail is incredible!
Actually the shield could have sliced her partially, not completely in half, in fact it gives that impression.
@@cayden2744 yes, exactly! If we look at the shield closely, only one side of it has blood on it. Insinuating that only a part of the shield actually "went through" her. If it sliced her in half, the entire shield would be covered in red substance!

@@tommyboof1455 the shield spins in the air though and only the front half (that hits her at the time) would have the blood on it.
There's another hidden detail. When Professor X said "Just because someone stumbles and loses their path, doesn't mean they're lost forever" to Mordo, it's a reference to X-Men Days of Future Past. He also said the same line to young Charles Xavier. It's so amazing.

The Theory that I have seen and is the most plausible is that Strange, having a Photographic Memory, still has all the information contained in the Darkhold in his mind.

The red light flashing happened because she destroyed all the darkholds and the castle is the main darkhold so when castle down main darkhold down
I hope i'm not the only one who noticed but when the wadugore tower is introduced,it was already crumbling.

@@uchiha203 I think that a part of Strange might still have wanted to use the Darkhold, making him pause to think for a moment.
There's another detail in the post-credits scene: When the Pizza guy (played by Bruce Campbell) finally stops hitting himself (due to a spell that Strange said would last *three weeks* ), his injuries magically heal.
The cuts and bruises rapidly fade away.
Maybe because he is mysterio in that universe and tricked dr strange that he is hitting his head but it’s really a hologram only.
@@olidave5522 wtf is wrong with you lmao
They don't. You should watch more carefully
That was the reference of Sam Raimi movie "Evil Dead"
17:10 I knew that Wanda absorbed Captain Marvel's power even though everyone else was confused to why a pillar would kill her. I don't know why people were confused about this.
@won343fake
One of my favorite parts of the film is when Xavier quotes that line from Days of Future Past: “just because someone stumbles and loses their way, it doesn’t mean they’re lost forever.”
That part made me smile :)
I loved that part as well as “ We will see what kind of Doctor strange you are “.
14:52 “just some bots releasing fluids”
Good thing Vision wasn’t in this film
Oh no...
Lol
One detail that I found that you didn’t mention would be when the book of Versailles was destroyed, one of the pages was shown and on it was America Chavez’s star. It’s one of my favorite details from the movie and really helps to forward the plot a lot.
Yes and Doctor Strange see it for a second before it burns. That's how he knows that America Chaves is the perfect antidote for Wanda's madness.
It's the book of vishantee
@@lukedovzik pretty sure they know 🤣 its just autocorrect
I think even if it was just the shield, it would still slice her in half
@@NaThingSerious well, that would make it impossible to catch, but all the caps can still catch it. But with magic, this makes sense.
@@NaThingSerious The shield being or not being able to do this, Marvel would still find a way to make this reference to what if ☺️
Yes she did, but even if she didnt, its a thin Vibranium shield thrown by the Scarlet Witch, it wouldve cut her in half either way
17:44 ish was a great time to point out 1 thing about the Wanda under the rubble.
Thus, why he looked like "oh sh*t, something is up with this."
I liked how it was pointed out her true form was showing during the limping chase sequence.
i thought it was the darkhold version of wanda. Didn't know it was her true form after being corrupted.
And I thought Wanda tranced charles inside her mind so he cant move so the witch wanda form can snap his head
That proves that reality warping is stronger than mind control
@@justinherrera3722 duh?
When I watched the movie I thought that Wanda was the one that got possessed because Wanda needed her own physical form to be able to kill everyone.
he heard the Scarlet Witch whispering from afar saying "I am not locked in here with you, you are locked in here with me".
YES!
Damn, that’s a lotta writing
Also “fun” fact: Wanda doesn’t snap Xavier’s neck, she tears his face apart. Watch it in slow mo to see it
I thought iam only one who saw it
Lol
Oh my... that's horrible.
lol nah it's just the magic red smoke covering his face that makes it look like she's ripping his jaw out or something. I mean they made the breaking sound effect and showed Charles snap his head sideways in real life afterward.
@@Magneticitist nah, bc if you look, shes holding the lower half in one and charles' top half is like facing sideways, she did indeed rip it in the mind area
it's unfortunate that so many people dislike this movie, but thank you for making this video! I love the movie even more now!!
Hatter’s gonna hate I loved it the scarlet witch and dr strange are my favorite and Elizabeth Olsen did fantastic as the scarlet witch.
The majority doesn’t hate it. So it’s okay
i don't hate it and i saw it in the cinema but there a glaring inconsistencies that if you think more and more about it, well it makes less and less sense, Wong's girlfriend chose to destroy the darkhold when Wanda was clearly vulnerable while dream walking, Reed's idiotic mistake that got blackbolt killed, Wanda flying to the illuminaty hq but then limping after strange and the crew after killing the illuminaty and not even using her power to pull chavez towards her as she does literally 1 min later, i liked the movie when i watched it in the theater but i can't watch it again without feeling like it's just kind of dumb ...

Dude.... marvel should have to be gratefull for that canadian lad exists in our universe...
If not there no one to show us how marvel team and vfx team done their job amazingly.......
Great job budd and keep it up
Just realised, there's a universe out there with no canadian lad....... now that's one to avoid.
Exactly both Strange & Wanda are the highlights of the movie 🎥. 8/10 for me.
It had great horror elements. The scariest scene imo was when Wanda directly looked into the camera after possessing her alternate version. Gave me chills
When I watched the scene where they travel the multiverse in the theater, I was like damn, I'll have to wait for the Canadian Lad to explain those universes. Such a great detailed video!
same, it happened so fast that i needed someone like Lad to address everything (also dont listen to that scammer, same response but similiar alt account name)
not sure if anyone caught it, but when wanda is using the darkhold to show strange, wong, and america a variant of wanda and her kids the variant actually senses wanda and looks at the direction we’re viewing them from
That detail about all those universes shown in that scene and the detail that shows the various POVs of the bots were the most mind-boggling for sure.
Amazing details! Please make more videos on Ms. Marvel too 😀
Every analysis that I watch of this movie makes me appreciate it even more.
In the Illuminati comic series, every proactive decision decision they ever made totally backfired
I think having Captain Marvel AND Black Bolt there on Titan would have made ALL the difference.... and technically they could have beat Thanos in Infinity War if not for stupid Starlord.
Also Xavier is a threat to to everyone. He could have just put him on pause while the rest of them messed him up.
All the hailing of Illuminati-verse Strange as a hero with statues made of him reeks of the Illuminati's guilt for killing the guy who saved them.
who's we? also Thanos is different in every universe, he might be weak in their universe, just use your brain more
I also noticed that in the scene where Dr.
Thanks Lad!
Me neither, that’s why I was so confused when CM was killed so easily.
Ya, that was something that had me thinking, "But Peter has survived worse." 🤣

My exact thoughts throughout this entire video.. oh my god, how better this movie could have been...
@@alensmit3664 how do you know this
@@mr.iiconic I’m not sure how they know it but it makes sense, Loki was originally one of the main characters of Multiverse of Madness and they had to scrap that because of how much was happening in the movie
Incredible eye to detail. Fantastic job. Love how your breakdown is different from everyone's. Can't wait for love and thunder

Defender strange says to chavez "Putting the grand calculus of the multiverse, your sacrifice is worth more than your life"
Also in spiderman no way home, our strange says to peter the same line, about the sinister six villians.
17:00 ah, so this explains why Captain Marvel was killed by the falling statue - her powers were absorbed away so she was defenseless
yea, make's alot more sense
Elizabeth Olsen portrays Scarlet Witch so well, she was so scary in this movie, especially when she BROKE THE FOURTH WALL! That scene gave me chills. 20:24
A detail you missed.
When scarlet witch stepped on the button and when the glass appeared she got scared and then went into a block pose flinching so this means she actually got scared when he trapped her in the glass dimension which proves there’s a part of her that’s still human and that’s still young.

It might just popup in another movie
its going to be the reason for an incursion, they said when pieces of one reality go to another it will end up causing an incursion if they remain, and he took it back home, but its just a little piece of fabric, so it'll take time for it to actually have an affect
I am impressed!! Especially the details on the Wanda and the dark hold' s hold on her as the Scarlett Witch, impressive. I really enjoyed this movie.
Pretty obvious after watching no way home. Everyone forgot Peter but everyone remembers spider man
Professor X: “Just because someone stumbles and loses their way doesn’t mean they’re lost forever”
Also Professor X: Had an alternate version of Strange be killed because he lost his way
I think professor x probably regretted what happened to alternate strange which probably is why he trusts 616 strange
I think 838 Strange requested for death after defeating Thanos as he knew he was such a threat.
.... that's probably why he said that line in the first place.
I think that was Reed Richards' idea. He's a fatalist in the comics.
That's likely a reference to The Illuminati voting on sending Hulk into space.

17:45 she really ripped charles's face brutally in that scene and don't worry about thumbs up, we are always with you lad ❤️❤️🔥
At 4:38, they’re not making a shield, they are creating the glass trap for Wanda that you mention after as that’s the exact spot that she steps on to activate the trap
It’s like they knew she’d be able to get through the shield
Haven't seen this detail in other videos but maybe i'm wrong, but the first letters of "Multiverse of Madness" spells MOM, in reference to Wanda? :)
