Liz saying “He’s a liar” could also be referring to Mysterio lying about the drone attack. Yes, she probably blames Peter for throwing her dad in jail, but he also saved her life and her dad’s life and knows he’s a hero.
The fact that Toomes itself didn't want to reveal Peter identity shows that he doesn't blame him, so i think his daughter is also on Peter's side. Besides, Liz could actually blame Peter for the fact she has to move with her family at the end of Homecoming.
I noticed another one that a lot of people seemed to miss. When may was telling peter that he needed to help Norman, peter said "it's not my problem." That phrase is used before ben's death in almost every piece of spider man media.
Here are 2 details I found from this movie 1) A parallel that made us sad: Both Peter and Strange's first and last conversations were about their names. In IW Peter had the exchange of "made up" names with Strange. In NWH, they both exchanged their real names. Really heartbreaking 2) In the mid credits Tom Hardy only speaks about Iron man, hulk and Thanos. These 3 were the only ones who had snapped with the gauntlet.
The detail about Tobey feeling Electro’s attack more is also a nod to how Andrew has faced Electro before, and potentially upgraded his suit to resist electric current. That may have even happened in Amazing Spiderman 2, I can’t recall.
I think he upgraded it either toward the end or inbetween TASM 1 & 2 because in TASM 1 he got shot by some electric tazer thing when he was getting hunted by Captain Stacey.
It's more viable compared to Tobey's Spiderman "getting old". Green Goblin was squaring off against late-teens Toby and Tom's Spiderman in his mid-40s with no issues; and was even inflicting major damage to the two in their fisticuffs. Furthermore, this is a comic universe - where humans are physically superior to humans IRL, and where it appears as if old age isn't a significant variable to performance, up to a certain point. Also, given how Andrew's Spiderman was more likely to have sunk into the dark side after everything he's suffered, and identified more with being Spiderman than Peter Parker, and Toby's Peter Parker had his life in order, it stands to reason his Spiderman may not be as physically active and/or frequently indulging intensive bouts in comparison to Andrew's Spiderman. Lastly, Tobey's Spiderman seems to physically be the most physically capable, given how he easily and quickly he walked off from Sandman's city-block shaking punches back in Spiderman 3, and how he was able to stop a bloodlusted Tom Holland Spiderman from killing Goblin with his glider from a kneeling position. P.S. Men in their mid-40s are physically comparable to late-teens in terms of physical strength, assuming no significant ailments, illnesses, higher-than-normal testosterone loss-over-time, no significant toxic buildup in their body from crap nutrition over time, etc.
He realised he could get electrocuted in TASM1 when George Stacy electrocuted him so that’s why he upgraded his suit which meant he could resist Electro
In TASM2, He also looked to create webs that resist electric current, so he could beat Electro. I assume that he must've also upgraded his suit while doing so.
When Andrew Garfield’s Spider-man saved MJ it legitimately made me cry, even seeing it again in this video made me tear up. It was such a short but infinitely important scene, I’m so happy they included it in the movie.
I was afraid MJ was gonna die in that scene, but then Andrew jumped down, and I thought he was gonna die. I was thinking, because of how different the Amazing Spider-Man 2 was, that they would keep up that formula when Andrew’s Spider-Man is around. I too felt so relieved and I also teared up during their little conversation.
Until you pointed it out, I never thought of how Tom’s pose is literally a combination of both Andrew’s and Toby’s poses, with the half crouch and half open. That’s such a neat detail! (And -while going with the theme of open and closed-) I feel like it’s both showing his desire to not have his identity out there, while it already being out there.
You missed one: doc ock was the only one who could grab electro because back in spiderman 2: he said the arms were designed to touch pure energy for his experiment. No one could get close enough except for otto. Love the content man!
@@iamnotthewerewolf212 my best guess has two possibilities. (1.) when he fell in the water, it could have damaged the arms functionality from the inside making him able to get electrocuted. I don’t know everything about his arms but like he stated in the movie, his arms are specifically impervious to heat and magnetism. He didn’t say anything about water. Unless it just wasn’t mentioned then I don’t about that. (2.) it could also be the fact that when he got soaked in water, the electricity could have traveled through the water itself from the arms to Octavius’s body electrocuting him specifically instead of the arms which may actually not have been taking any damage.
@@iamnotthewerewolf212 he turned away from the machine. The power spiked and affected the chip on his brain stem. It’s an Achilles heel type of incident.
Andrew got less affected by the electricity cause his suit and webs are specifically made to resist electric shocks in tasm movies. While Tobey's suit isn't that much resistant.
And because Toby’s Spider-Man is getting old as well, but I didn’t even think of that back when Andrews Spider-Man made his webs electro proof back in TASM 2.
@@abirambinu2613 i remember the fact that tasm 2 suit is a gift from gwen and gwen also help built the electric proof web shooter for him which is so sweet, i think out of all spiderman girlfriends i love gwen the most and that ending is really heartbreaking for me
Detail that I think might be worthwhile, at 17:27 its stated that Andrew took more hits from Electro but Tobey is more worn out. I think it helps that Andrew has experience dealing with Electro and might have some lining inside his suit to better deal with his attacks, but Tobey has never dealt with Electro before so he wouldnt have it thus getting hurt more from less attacks.
With the electro bit, the reason Andrews peter didn't seem as hurt is coz his suit is more resistant to electricity, which is why he was able to fight electro jn 2014 or whenever TASM2 was out
@@RepeatedAxe no, he designed his suit to be against electricity because of how police shot him with electric projectile right before Gwens father unmasked him in TASM 1
17:20 I actually think that the reason that Andrew isn’t as hurt by the lightning is because in AS2, he did a whole montage of insulating his gear. I know he insulated his webs but he probably did so to his suit as well. Since Tobey never fought electro, he never needed to make this upgrade.
@@WhoCares-dl8zr older = less stamina, less resilience. Yes, you can come to that conclusion parting from the back pain issue Tobey had in film before the big fight
But in AS2, it’s stated that he never was able to insulate his suit or webs. He was trying to make them counter electricity. That’s why Gwen had the idea of magnetizing his web shooters. All throughout the final battle, he takes the full force of electro without protection. The only difference is, he web shooters are specifically shown taking the electrical charge without exploding.
As a VFX student, I agree with the person who emailed you. Even minute details like that shadow transition from Spider-Man to Peter Parker on the bridge in part 1 would take hours to create, and most people would not even notice it.
Personally, the reason I believe Andrew was mostly wearing his spidersuit while Tobey wasn't is because of how their story in their universe is going. Tobey's Peter is making it work with MJ. Actually having a life as Peter and not just as Spiderman. Andrew's Peter is still broken about Gwen. Wondering if taking the responsibility of being Spiderman means that he can't be just Peter.
Not to mention why Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man didn't mention that he had daughter with MJ. Come on, these two married for 14 years (2007-2021) and still don't have a kid, that's lazy writing...
I still think Garfield deserves a third film where he meets his MJ....maybe played by Bryce Dallas Howard who played Gwen Stacy in Maguire's Spiderman.
I really would like to see a 3rd movie to see what happens with him after this. Tobey's Spidey seems to be okay but Andrew's is lonely and sad. He needed this little journey and I'm sure it changed him a lot
The fact that one of the team members of Marvel sent an email to him about finding small details in the movies shows that he’s dedicated to his work and he loves it. We owe you the likes and the subscriptions to your channel for all your hard work you have done in the past two videos for this movie!
And WB just sitting there chilling after firing Snyder, not gaining trust of fans ............. I really admire Marvel to the core, be it fan service/good movies/giving fans what they want and deserve............ Marvel is far far superior to DC now TBH
@@potato305 every batman movie has been pg-13 or pg since 1966, I dunno what y'all expected 🤷♂️. and even if it's not R it's still gonna be a good movie
It’s absolutely amazing how they were able to balance all the characters in the movie and not miss a single beat. I remember when I first saw it, the pacing in the beginning of the movie seemed too quick but later it allows for the movie to fall into place so much easier. They did something great by using that “classic-ness” from the raimi era and combining it with the MCU. Seeing Tobey and Andrew reprise their roles is amazing.
I've seen Andrew saving MJ dozens of times (literally, it's my favorite scene in the entire movie). His face, his voice... you can feel his pain, his fear for failing again and having another Peter go through what he went... seriously, I think I cried every time I saw it. Gwen's death is one of my favorite (and most hated) scene in cinema, Andrew's pain feel so raw and real. Him saving MJ hurts so much.
Andrew Garfield's a terrific actor where even if you didn't know nor watch TASM 2, you can piece together the pieces of how he failed to save his Gwen and how he redeemed himself in that scene.
I really like how in 13:19 he talks about Andrew being quiet and being the one who focuses the most, because If you remember- in the TASM2 time “stops” which is where Peter is analyzing electro’s attack in the square. Just shows the immense focus Andrew’s Peter can achieve.
I think my favorite detail that you missed is that when all the spidermen are swinging together, you can see the personality of each Peter in each of their swings. Andrew’s swing is very flashy, doing a lot of flips and twists while swinging. Tobey’s swing is very mundane by comparison, a sort of point A to Point B type of swing. Tom’s swing isn’t as flashy as Andrew’s but not as barebones as Tobey’s, every flip and twist he does feels as though it has purpose. And couple that with the pose thing you mentioned, it proves further that Tom is a perfect hybrid of both tobey and Andrew’s spidermen
17:30 That is also indicative of how Andrew designed his suit to handle Electro, a key detail of the ASM movies. Tobey mainly had the one suit, and did modify it for this film (or possibly over time), but Andrew was constantly working on his suit and web shooters.
I thought it was because Andrew is more used to electro’s attacks than tobey. But I think Tobey is getting old. Because he talked about how is back was killing him. So I think it means more than just a meme.
i mean you’re right and wrong. the canadian lad forgot to mention how Andrews suit is electric proof because in ASM1 he took the electric and was stun by the police. So in tasm2 when he gets electrocuted by Electro for the first time, he feels hurt but he’s not stunned. his webs shooters just couldn’t handle the electricity and plus he collided with a police car. so it’s safe to say that andrews peter upgraded his suit to be electric proof in tasm2
@@megaavonaco9954 Andrew said he had a middle back problem too so back pain is not just a Tobey issue. Andrew's suit was made to deal with electro, so were his webs and webshooters so he was not hurt by the electricity like Tobey was. The fact Tobey wasn't stopped for long after being hit by electro WITHOUT an insulated suit like Andrew proves how strong he still is.
17:30 i think this is also due to the fact that andrew's suit was insulated to avoid getting shocked like in TASM1. So it's safe to assume it helped him alot more than Tobey's suit.
@@Designation_B-127 I was referring to the fact that Andrew's Peter upgraded his suit to be insulated after he was shocked by the police in TASM1. So yeah i'm aware that his second suit is the insulated one, which is why he was able to endure all of Electro's attacks in TASM2.
@@Devonte-w8o he said that andrew's suit is able to protect him of electro bcs he upgraded his suit when he was catched by that "shcok gun" in the first movie
The scene with Andrew's Spider-Man saving MJ just made me think that he relives that moment in his head over and over again which is why he was more prepared for it. That was painful even before the "are you okay" part of the scene.
The only guy who can tell you literally in between lines , easter egg and like almost a whole another universe from something very simple. Love this Lad
Something that I think a lot of people missed is that the train Dr. Strange summons in the mirror dimension is the exact same train from Spider Man 2. A good amount of the people on that train saw Spider Man's true identity, but agreed not to tell anyone, so bringing that train in might have been a connection to Tom Holland's line of "everyone that knew I was Spider-Man should still know"
I am so glad that they let Doc Ock turn to good. I think his redemption ark was very good in the original movie. I always thought there was good there. Having him help out Spidies was amazing. I only saw this movie last night for the first time. I loved it.
The electro bit is actually wrong about Tobey being old and taking more damage, the reason Andrew is fine is because that suit can withstand electricity better
@@hottrin6103 Tobey isn't weaker, he's older if tobey was Weaker he wouldn't have beat Andrew in their web clash. Everything about the 3 Spider-Man is that they evolve around their experience with each of their enemies, with that being said Andrew has more experience with electro there for has a better prep suit then Tobey.
One detail I also really love concerning Goblin’s entrance in the Statue of Liberty fight is, after he says “Can the Spider-Man come out to play!?!”, Tobey’s reaction is shown blatantly for a few seconds and you can see how shocked and scared he was hearing his very first nemesis again.
One last thing that you may have missed is that Andrew saves Tom's MJ in the same way that Tobey saved his MJ back in the original Raimi film. So both a subtle nod to his thought put into saving Gwen but also the link in how the Peters think alike/nod to the Raimi film.
I cried with Andrews when he ask mj if she was ok, that hit hard remembering the scene and the fact that they had such a great chemistry. Thank you Lad for your efforts putting this videos together.
I think the reason The Goblin went from genuine fear to legitimately laughing when Peter starts hitting him is because he realized that Peter isn't putting his full strength into his punches. Peter is fully capable of straight up decapiting someone with one punch. Goblin's whole goal was to make Peter abandon his morals (he pulls his punches because he knows they're lethal AF.) Once Goblin realizes this, he stops being afraid and starts laughing. That's why he killed May. Even TASM said he "eventually stopped pulling his punches" (basically saying he started wrecking people.)
@@Jasdewisafarmer because after May was killed, Peter stop holding back his strength in the last fight against Norman, that is why there were almost no response from Norman, Peter knocked him out, being ready to kill him
@@Jasdewisafarmer in the superior spider-man storyline, doc ock is on the brink of death from years of fighting spider-man, so he takes over peter parker’s body to stay alive. he ends up fighting scorpion, and doesn’t realize how strong peter really is, because he knocks scorpion’s jaw clean off. no one really talks about how strong peter is
Also! The lower webbings on Tobey's mask in NWH is also rounder compared to his mask in the Raimi days. And I think Tobey's Spider-Man holding his chest after being attacked by Electro was because his suit isn't resistant to electric shocks unlike Andrew's Spider-Man suit, where Andrew improved his suit and his webs & web-shooters to be somehow resistant to electricity in TASM2. Then when Goblin threw the spinning blades to the three Spider-Man, notice that Tom Holland's Spider-Man jumps the way how Tobey jumped in Spider -Man 1 when he was tricked by Goblin in the burning apartment. But what a great videoooooo. You're always my go-to when it comes to looking for details and easter eggs! And you're right about the Marvel VFX team deserving these kinds of praise, they really really did good, even during a Pandemic!
There's one more nice detail: When Peter talks to the Women from MIT on the bridge she interrupts him and says "You didn't rehearse that, did you?" At the end of the movie, when Peter comes to see MJ, we actually see him rehearse his speech to her, which means that MJ is way more important to him than MIT
Man when they hugged each other in the end.... It brought a tear to my face. All of them respect each other, and look up to one another. Fanboys should stop comparing them, they are all unique in their own way
i think it helped with some toxicity, Andrew hate was beyond because TASM2 sucked (which is unfair because I always thought AG was 'amazing' and was sad when Tom got casted (love Toms though too)
16:33 Fun little detail in the film, when Tobey lands on the Statue of Liberty, he doesn’t make a sound, while the other two make a little bang sound when they land, furthermore proving his point.
I really appreciate the love tobey got in this movie, basically showing how he’s the strongest (tom couldnt overpower him just holding the glider) fastest (beat andrew in a web-off) and wisest (the dad of the group) I like that they gave tom the better spider-sense though
@@zacmcculloch721 In my observation, I think Tom don’t use full of his power to push back at Tobey when Peter 2 stop him, he just struggle a bit to tell Tobey to back off. I mean Peter 1 want to kill Gobby, he won’t harm another version of himself by any mean.
@@alythu6095 he tried to stab through tobey to get to goblin but ok champ. Can clearly see tom is struggling and tobey is just calmly holding the glider, not trying to overpower tom, and he just holds it until tom gave up
one thing u forgot is when Toby was pep talking or encouraging Andrew he called him AMAZING.He called the Amazing spider man Amazing. That shows that Andrew really is the amazing spider man.
The fact that you watched it in a theater 8 times without the movie pausing and observing everything is just pure dedication. You're an awesome lad. Amazing work! 👏
Another little detail I don't see many point out is when Andrew jumps towards MJ to save her, there is a blink and you miss moment where he pushes a steel beam out of the way while in the air and his head is completely focused on MJ. This shows the strength of his spider sense they displayed in ASM 2, his strength, as well as the determination he had to save her in that moment.
Andrew saving MJ was the scene that nearly made me cry. You could see that it redeemed him in his own eyes. All three of these guys really proved what amazing actors they are in this movie, with the number of scenes where they communicated so much with so little dialogue.
Nearly? Well, you fared better than me, I saw it dozens of times and probably cried every single fucking time I saw Andrew's face and heard his wobbling voice asking her if she's okay
Bedore i saw the movie my brother just got hime from seeing it and I finished the trailer and i told my brother “i bet that when mj falls tom isnt gonna catch her but Andrew will” even tho i knew that was prob gonna happen it just brought tears to my eyes
I think you were right about McGuire's spider man pose being the classic pose but I have possible reason for the other two. Garfield's pose IMHO, is an open stance and really identifies it is a Stan Lee spider man because Ditko's and Romita's spider man suits had webbing under the arms. As for Holland, this is the everso popular Marvel superhero landing that was literally picked on in the Black Widow movie. Either way, I absolutely love the shot and the movie as whole. Great job on the commentaries 👏
I would also like to add that Peter seems to be able to better focus with his eyes closed. This was touched upon in Far from Home, but Peter closed his eyes right before webbing Goblin's hand.
Yeah, he explicitly has superhuman vision in the MCU. He's even stated to have natural night-vision in the Wakanda Files. That definitely makes it harder for him ti focus on other senses.
You're right. In Civil War, when Tony was gassing Peter about his hard-to-see-through spidey goggles in his home-made suit, Peter said all his senses were dialed to an 11 and he uses the goggles to focus (or more specifically, limit) his vision. So I can imagine his visual senses can distract him so he closes his eyes to remove that distraction when he wants to really focus.
So Tom Holland would be op if he was daredevil’d? Imagine if stick taught him how to use spider sense! Cuz Spider sense is a low tier radar sense as he can sense where the danger comes from.
@@megaavonaco9954 Spider sense is way different from radar sense. Spider sense is a form of mystical future-sight whereas radar sense is simply hyperawareness
There is one more detail. When Tom removes all the cure devices at the lab, he mentions those for Sandman, Electro & Lizard but takes a pause while not taking Osborn's name. Tobey notices this & realizes Tom's intentions. After this he asks Tom - "Gotta cure all of them right?" to which Tom reluctantly nods.
I noticed a detail at 12:43 part of the movie, when tom holland's spidey telling which cures to whom, he didn't mentioned green goblin nor norman osborn bcs he wanted to kill him so badly, and the tobey's peter knowing so well then says that he could make cure for mr.osborn. what a great character development
19:33 "Andrew must've thought of a thousand different ways he Couldve saved his Gwen. So he was well prepared this time for a situation like this." Damn
The fact that you caught them swinging off of Tom's webs gave me mad chills. This is something extraordinary. I love spiderman and you pointing this out made me appreciate this movie so much more.
@@jlmurph2 and i also think that they made this because they wanted to show that tom is the strongest spiderman, like the way he kicked lizard , andrew wasn’t able to do that in his movie , and also tom’s suit is more advanced and hence the webs, stark certainly focused on his webs since its his main weapon
I love how they showed how unique each Peter Parker/Spider-Man is in this film instead of making them pretty much the same person. It was absolutely amazing
The detail about Tobey being hurt more by Electro could be because of his age, but I think it is more that Andrew had fought Electro before and likely added more electrical insulation to his suit for future enemies.
Do you think that the reason why Tobey felt better when Andrew cracked his back was because only another Spiderman would have the strength to give him the chiropractic help he needed? Just a theory
I don’t think they left Tobey in his “youth pastor outfit” because he was the best Peter but because marvel knew the excitement he was gonna create and probably wanted the audience to get two giant impact full moments .
I love the detail at 7:04, Peter closes his eyes and trusts his *tingle*, same way he did in Far From Home in the last fight against the drones. Just shows that even though he has mastered his sense throughout the years, there are still times where he has to completely shut off his other senses and just trust the *tingle*.
when he said “may?” the spider sense was subconsciously saying that something was going to happen. spider sense detects danger, so it’s foreshadowing that may is in danger
Stressing even more how amazing this film was. The money shot of all 3 spider-mans landing next to eachother also directly shows their personalities. Looking back in the films these are the poses that they all frequently use. Tom holland's peter often does that pose without the suit on. Andrew's, like you said, always has an open stance towards combat, and finally toby is often seen evaluating scenes before jumping into them, showing toby's analytical approach. They really didnt drop the ball on this one. Even though i knew that Toby and Andy were gonna be in this film before watching it, i was so insanely impressed in the way they did it.
I noticed one detail in the scene when Tom senses the goblin. He closed his eyes just right before he webbed Norman. Its like a callback when he fought mysterio where he fully depended on his peter tingle.
Excellent breakdown, as always! The scene that touched me the most was right after May's death: Happy arrives at the scene. He sees Peter mourning above May, whilst the policemen approach his car and violently apprehend him. Even at this time, having seen his love interest dead and himself being arrested, the first thing that Happy thinks and does is to protect Peter, by urging him to flee. He doesn't call to him for help, he cares not about what 'll happen to himself; he just wants Peter away from that tragic and utterly heartbreaking scenery. This reminded me of how protective everyone has been towards Peter. Despite his superpowers, despite the fact that he turns out to be one of the most competent new avengers (he even outsmarted Dr. Strange), he is still a kid, a kid from Queens. And everyone around him, feel the urge to protect him and his emotional world, regardless of the fact that he is the hero, he should be the one who saves and protects. A pretty awesome antithesis right there. Despite its flaws, this version of Spider-Man was a bliss to experience; From Iron Man's sidekick, only recruited for the Airport Battle, to becoming his own man, after having earned the utmost respect and love from the people he admired the most throughout his journey. Tony's emotional indifference towards him at first, turned into a warm, lasting hug in Endgame. Happy Hogan, from being frustrated and tired of him, grew to a loving friend who saw in Peter's eyes a new icon, a new hero to follow. Dr. Strange, who viewed Peter as a spoiled and immature kid, ended up respecting him greatly, due to the magnitude of the sacrifice that Peter asked to be bestowed upon him. Aunt May, the mother that he never had, right before she died as a consequence of his choices, assured him that he still did the right thing, that his morality is undeniable and his character sincere. And now, he lost everything and everyone. He willingly underwent the ultimate sacrifice. And that's what Spider-Man is about. Taking responsibility, no matter the cost. No Way Home was by no means a perfect movie, but it was truly, as stated by many, a love letter to the hero we grew up with.
I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this yet. When electro first shows his powerful form with the arc reactor, his face is briefly covered in electricity, which forms the shape of electro’s comic mask
8:59, it’s also worth noting that in the first Spider-Man movie back in 2002, the first thing Green Goblin did after deducing Peter Parker was Spider-Man was attack Aunt May (Rosemary Harris) because “the cunning warrior attacks neither body nor mind but the heart” and even though Marisa Tomei is a different Aunt May he just did the exact same thing again
You deserved that praise from Marvel! You're the best for finding ALL the details. I watch another channel on easter eggs too, but they don't find all of the ones you do. Mostly comic book references. You're amazing!
At first, I thought this was the Endgame of Spider-Man, but then after a while, I figured this movie was the Avengers of Spider-Man. To me, this movie was a love letter to Spider-Man fans, but it’s also a way to preserve the Spider-Man legacy that these three Ultimate Spectacularly Amazing actors and their fellow actors who made their characters memorable. Thanks to everyone who worked on all Live-action Spider-Man movies and you, The Canadian Lad, for pointing out details that fans like me can appreciate.
I'd like to point out one tiny detail. At the end of the movie, we can still see that MJ is still wearing the broken necklace that Peter got for her in Far From Home, even though she has no recollection of who he is. I just thought that was a neat detail.
One of the scenes I thought was really a testament to how much more experienced Tobey was as Spider-Man was when he and Andrew first saw each other and tested each other's abilities, Tobey instantly knew to shoot for Andrew's wrist to block his webs. It was such a subtle detail, but goes to show how smart Tobey was in a fight.
11:46-11:50 That's how I've always felt! It kind of fits their character arcs, too. In Spider-Man 2, Peter wanted a normal life with Mary Jane, whereas after losing Gwen, Andrew Garfield Spider-Man didn't really have much else. MCU Peter, on the other hand, has gone from desperately wanting to be Spider-Man, to desperately wanting to be Peter Parker, to finally being forced to choose.
I wanted to also point out that during the Lab scene, when Tom's Peter's is naming all the cures, he doesn't mention Norman's and even slams the cure down. This confirms that he had no intention of curing the goblin and Tobey's peter notices.
I think the Electro attack on Tobey and Andrew may have been to show that Tobey's suit wasn't designed to take electric attacks, but Andrew's suit was modified to fight electro, to be able to use his special webbing he made.
The fact the Tobey took more damage during the electro fight may also be due to Andrew insulating his suit during tasm2 to fight electro. Sure it hurt Andre because electro is more powerful but not nearly as much as Tobey who had no insulation
@@physical_insanity I'm sure he would have but since it didn't happen on screen they don't mention it. Also we don't know which point in time they were pulled from (When they're talking about who they fought there's no surprise mentions of fights we didn't see either)
To be fair, as another comment pointed out, Andrew's Spider-man had been taken down by a cop with a type of taser gun during The Amazing Spider-man, hence why, after that suit got destroyed, the new suit for TASM2 was already insulating Electro's blasts since they first met. The thing that got actually modified onscreen was his webshooters being magnetized thanks to Gwen.
toby is the best spiderman, he started it all, and seeing him again in 2021 literally gave me chills and I'm so grateful to watch the person who made us fall in love with spiderman back on action, much love for you toby, and thank you so much
Tobey’s Spider-Sense was actually able to detect Norman’s shifting intentions. In the Spider-Man 1 novel during the Thanksgiving scene Tobey’s danger sense actually grows more intense as Norman is putting together that he’s Spider-Man. Tobey just consciously pushes his danger sense aside because he reasons that he has no reason to perceive his best friends dad as a threat. Compare that to Tom already knowing that Norman can swap into the Goblin at anytime. Regarding Electro VS Andrew/Tobey, Andrew was screaming in pain at the onset of his enduring of the electricity (he also has electricity resistant web shooters, where some of Electro’s arcs were attacking), where as Tobey was talking with 0 strain towards the END of Electro’s attack: “Otto…No.” Not to mention that at that point in the sequence Tobey was nearly crushed by Sandman; someone who briefly knocked Tobey out in SM3, as well as Andrew’s rouges. Just wanted to point those details out since I’ve looked into the sources beyond the movies as well as comparing the strength of characters a lot more than the average viewer. ✌️✌️✌️
Was it also the reason why tobey was holding his chest while on his knees after the electro attack and andrew was just standing there and out of breath?.
@@Freakingbad89 Yeah, I’m explaining why it isn’t necessarily the directors showing that Tobey’s become weaker than Andrew as he’s aged; like the video suggests.
@@CRISIS_COMICS ow this was an extremely dumb moment for me..i thought that this was your original video, i didn't notice that i was actually commenting to Canadian lad's video. i was raising the question cause i want you to confirm it. But yeah thanks for responding regardless.
This was an amazing movie. Totally felt the emotion and was immersed at almost every scene, (I was the only one inside the theater because of location restrictions) I had the cinema all for myself and it contributed to an amazing experience watching this movie. I totally agree with you especially when Toby's Spidey caught the glider, his eyes said a thousand words. Brilliant. And Willem Dafoe, damn. Epic actng. That's the Goblin!
20:00 I wish he added the fact that when Tom’s Spider-Man went for that one slam down punch, it was so hard that the whole platform they were fighting on shook. it even looks like he made a dent on the shield when he made that punch
I imagine Lad has been watching in 0.25x speed for so long he's developed his own Spidey sense for easter eggs. I'm also so happy that Andrew is getting the recognition he deserves.
the fact that Andrews spidey is wearing his suit at all times, especially when appearing for the first time, might be a pointer to him being engulfed in the role as spider-man. Never really being peter parker at all. This Makes the line he delivers about not having time for peter parker stuff a little deeper as well
The reason why Tobey was more hurt than Andrew when they were attacked by Electro could be because Andrew has faced him before and has upgraded his suit to withstand electric shocks, whereas Tobey's version of Spider-Man has never faced Electro before. But, yeah, it could also be because he's older.
Dude you have no idea how many friends of mine whom i recommend you are loving ur videos day by day. Like start from those Peter tingle visuals to the gobin face. How could you do all this? You are the best and i really appreciate your method to improvise every movie, like the subtle details that are usually not even in the movie for a couple of frames you bring it up in the front to let us know how that one frame defines the movie. Really, I am a big fan of you. And always continue doing such work with great detail.
While Tom's Spider-Man may have started designing a new suit before hand, at the end of the movie he had to make a new one. The Stark suit, Iron Spider, and the upgraded suit all had Iron Man's facial recognition, which identifies him as Peter. It can no longer do that, so his suits became useless.
@Kurisu he is no longer iron man that is why he actually did at the end because he could of choose to live his own life with a more comic accurate suit all 3 are good by the way and I really like how this movie made home go og
17:26 I took that as the difference in their suits, as Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man has fought Electro before, he would have designed his suit with electric resistant materials as opposed to Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man having never fought an electric based villain, he never thought about doing the same for his suit's material. Thus Maguire's Spider-Man would inevitably be more damaged
I also like how Tom raised the goblin glider over his head, similar to how John Walker raised the shield over his head before killing one of the flag smashers. The scene also takes place on top of what's supposed to be Cap's shield for statue of liberty. Not a coincidence imo
I don't know how you do it, the attention to details that you put, even without watching the movie in 0.25x speed still deserves a round of applause and your title definitely deserves to have the "0.25x speed" in it, because that is how your own perception is. The love and passion that you put into your breakdowns are unlike any other videos out there. I am so happy that Marvel reached out to you and I hope to see a future collaboration between you.
This is definitely my favorite Spiderman film ever, which says a lot because I absolutely loved Raimi's Spiderman 2, Spider-Verse, and TASM1. Given the massive cast, I thought it would fall prey to SM3's issues (too many cooks in the kitchen and too many villains to properly flesh out). But not only did it not do this, but it also fixed so many issues I had with MCU's Spiderman and laid him out as the best version of live-action spiderman so far. Edit: This goes without saying but your breakdowns are easily the best. Also, another detail you might have missed (maybe you mentioned it in part 1), but there is a clearly shown difference in Tom and Tobey's physical strength. Tobey was able to do serious damage to Goblin in the first movie while Goblin laughs away at Tom's punches in their first fight. Hence why Tom stopped trying to rely on brute strength and instead made use of his webs and gravity to do extra damage. And when Tobey stopped Tom from killing Goblin, Tom was putting his all into trying to force Tobey out of the way, while Tobey held his ground without much issue.
It shows that Marvel understand that if you making a movie with a lot of character, it shouldn't be an origin movie, it should be a movie to close a chapter. Avenger, Civil War, and No Way Home works because there's no need to make a new character and everyone already expected to knew who the characters is as they already explored in previous movies (albeit decades earlier). When Thanos required expanded backstory, they create his own movie (Infinity War) and same thing can be argued why Age of Ultron is the weakest Avengers movie. This is something that many other would be cinematic universe failed to understand and just throwing a lot of characters with their own stories in a single convoluted mess. JL would never work as single movie because you can't fit the story in expected 1.5 - 2.5 hours theatre time.
Actually, Tom’s Spider-man was pulling his punches in the first fight. In the final battle, Tom beat the Goblin into a pulp mostly just with regular punches. Toby’s Spider-man ALSO used his webs and gravity to defeat the Goblin in his movie. The Goblin actually beat Toby in hand to hand combat until he used his webs as well as air attacks to beat the Goblin.
I never watch anyone else's breakdowns because CanadianLad does it best. Finds the best details that make you appreciate how much work goes into these films🙏
I think andrew did Peter really well this movie too besides spiderman. he kinda nerds out sometimes, both scenes of the webshooters, when talking about wanting tio fight aliens, talking about the avengers. he always has an expression of "holy shit, that's so cool, how does that work, I want that too". that scientist demeanor of wanting to find out about everything u don't know
You missed the one when all 3 Spider-Man were running towards the ledge to jump. The way they all jump off is a kind of reference because they all have a unique fall. When Tom jumps down, he does a frog splash pose. When Andrew jumps, he does a nose dive. When Tobey jumps, does a front flip.

Liz saying “He’s a liar” could also be referring to Mysterio lying about the drone attack. Yes, she probably blames Peter for throwing her dad in jail, but he also saved her life and her dad’s life and knows he’s a hero.
That probably true knowing how news outlets usually take things out of context

The fact that Toomes itself didn't want to reveal Peter identity shows that he doesn't blame him, so i think his daughter is also on Peter's side. Besides, Liz could actually blame Peter for the fact she has to move with her family at the end of Homecoming.
I noticed another one that a lot of people seemed to miss. When may was telling peter that he needed to help Norman, peter said "it's not my problem." That phrase is used before ben's death in almost every piece of spider man media.

Electro said the power was different in this universe maybe that resulted in the alternate Spidermen to react differently to it.
Horrible CGI spoils this scene
Until you pointed it out, I never thought of how Tom’s pose is literally a combination of both Andrew’s and Toby’s poses, with the half crouch and half open. That’s such a neat detail! (And -while going with the theme of open and closed-) I feel like it’s both showing his desire to not have his identity out there, while it already being out there.

Oh wow.
Thanks for the info mates i always wondered why Otto didn't get electrocuted when holding electro with his metal tentacle arms
Small question from me.
Then how did doc ock get electrified by the cables in spiderman 2 in fight with tobey ?
While Tobey's suit isn't that much resistant.
yea
No sirrrr
And because Toby’s Spider-Man is getting old as well, but I didn’t even think of that back when Andrews Spider-Man made his webs electro proof back in TASM 2.

@@sandal_thong8631thats insomniac spiderman this isn't

With the electro bit, the reason Andrews peter didn't seem as hurt is coz his suit is more resistant to electricity, which is why he was able to fight electro jn 2014 or whenever TASM2 was out

@@sandman_sam let me guess... You did not double check what you commented.

In you mean
@@RepeatedAxe no, he designed his suit to be against electricity because of how police shot him with electric projectile right before Gwens father unmasked him in TASM 1
17:20
I actually think that the reason that Andrew isn’t as hurt by the lightning is because in AS2, he did a whole montage of insulating his gear. I know he insulated his webs but he probably did so to his suit as well.
Since Tobey never fought electro, he never needed to make this upgrade.
that's exactly what i thought
Or maybe both, because in reality, Tobey's Peter is the oldest of the 3.
@@Lexington89 Old age= electric hurt more?
@@WhoCares-dl8zr older = less stamina, less resilience. Yes, you can come to that conclusion parting from the back pain issue Tobey had in film before the big fight
But in AS2, it’s stated that he never was able to insulate his suit or webs. He was trying to make them counter electricity. That’s why Gwen had the idea of magnetizing his web shooters. All throughout the final battle, he takes the full force of electro without protection. The only difference is, he web shooters are specifically shown taking the electrical charge without exploding.

Tobey's Peter is making it work with MJ. Actually having a life as Peter and not just as Spiderman.
Andrew's Peter is still broken about Gwen. Wondering if taking the responsibility of being Spiderman means that he can't be just Peter.

Tobey mainly had the one suit, and did modify it for this film (or possibly over time), but Andrew was constantly working on his suit and web shooters.
yeah i dont think it was the getting old tbh

The electro bit is actually wrong about Tobey being old and taking more damage, the reason Andrew is fine is because that suit can withstand electricity better
And one more reason i think about it is because Andrew has fought him before so something of an adapting factor and for Tobey it was the first time.
Oh yeah i remember from tasm 2
No it's because tobey is weaker
@@hottrin6103 Tobey isn't weaker, he's older if tobey was Weaker he wouldn't have beat Andrew in their web clash.
Everything about the 3 Spider-Man is that they evolve around their experience with each of their enemies, with that being said Andrew has more experience with electro there for has a better prep suit then Tobey.
And because he’s old.

And still better that it made the final cut
Thanks you for this
Goblin and Spider-Man relationship is like that of batman and joker in that sense.

19:39 Andrew literally had a “I’m still worthy” face when he saved MJ

I was genuinely happy to hear you say someone from Marvel reached out to you and gave you such positive and well deserved feedback. Congrats, Lad!
Loved your comment ❤️

One of the scenes I thought was really a testament to how much more experienced Tobey was as Spider-Man was when he and Andrew first saw each other and tested each other's abilities, Tobey instantly knew to shoot for Andrew's wrist to block his webs. It was such a subtle detail, but goes to show how smart Tobey was in a fight.
I wonder how many years have passed for Tobey and Andrew’s spider-man in their respective timelines since we last saw them.
11:46-11:50 That's how I've always felt! It kind of fits their character arcs, too. In Spider-Man 2, Peter wanted a normal life with Mary Jane, whereas after losing Gwen, Andrew Garfield Spider-Man didn't really have much else.

Andrew’s line about loving the other spider-men wasn’t actually in the script, he said that line because he was really feeling it
The fact the Tobey took more damage during the electro fight may also be due to Andrew insulating his suit during tasm2 to fight electro. Sure it hurt Andre because electro is more powerful but not nearly as much as Tobey who had no insulation
You'd think that after all these years, Tobey would have fought a variant of Electro at one point, wouldn't he?

Tobey got closure, Andrew got redemption, and Tom gets to continue on and has the potential for the greatest arc in the MCU.
Well, Spider-Man continues to be the face of Marvel.
I genuinely think Andrew Garfield is officially my favorite after this.
But Tom, has one hell of a character story
He’s no longer iron boy jr.

I was hoping he'd mention that too. My heart stopped when I heard the platform ringing the first time I watched it
I imagine Lad has been watching in 0.25x speed for so long he's developed his own Spidey sense for easter eggs.
I'm also so happy that Andrew is getting the recognition he deserves.
the fact that Andrews spidey is wearing his suit at all times, especially when appearing for the first time, might be a pointer to him being engulfed in the role as spider-man. Never really being peter parker at all. This Makes the line he delivers about not having time for peter parker stuff a little deeper as well
Fun fact there was a deleated scene Where there was a rematch between green goblin and tobey maguire spiderman fighting again

😦

@@themalaysiandude3903 I'm sure he doesn't even have tools to even disassemble it
@Kurisu he is no longer iron man that is why he actually did at the end because he could of choose to live his own life with a more comic accurate suit all 3 are good by the way and I really like how this movie made home go og
Thats a good detail

Because this film did not waste time on love stuff
We crave for new sensations but soon become indifferent to them. The wonders of yesterday are today common occurrences -Nikola Tesla 🕯
This is true but think of the age difference between Tom and tobey
Actually, Tom’s Spider-man was pulling his punches in the first fight. In the final battle, Tom beat the Goblin into a pulp mostly just with regular punches. Toby’s Spider-man ALSO used his webs and gravity to defeat the Goblin in his movie. The Goblin actually beat Toby in hand to hand combat until he used his webs as well as air attacks to beat the Goblin.
this guy is so dedicated and definitely deserves more subs for his dedication. Like watching it 8 times just for 2 vids, damn dude.
