  • Pain is Inevitable, But Suffering is Optional | Buddhist story.
    Dive into the profound Buddhist story of "The Two Arrows" that illuminates the nature of suffering and offers insights on how to transcend it through mindfulness and wisdom. As the Buddha sat with his disciples, a man approached and questioned the reasons behind human suffering. The Buddha responded with a poignant analogy involving a man shot by an arrow. While the initial pain of the arrow hitting him was inevitable, the man added unnecessary suffering by worrying about its consequences. The Buddha explained that life presents two arrows: the first arrow signifies unavoidable pain that comes with existence, while the second arrow represents the suffering we add through our thoughts and fears. By cultivating mindfulness and wisdom, we can choose how we respond to the first arrow and avoid adding unnecessary suffering. Through acceptance, presence, and a deep understanding of our experiences, we can reduce our suffering and discover profound peace and happiness. Join us on this enlightening journey as we explore the transformative power of mindfulness and learn to transcend suffering in our lives.

    In February 2005 while driving my truck, i was hit with the cosmic 2x4. I got the cosmic joke. The end of suffering is the realization the one who is suffering is an illusion.

      What led up to that, if you don't mind me asking? Spend much time in meditation and reflection beforehand, or was it more like a revelation that happened out of the blue?

    Pain is pain, here, gone, here, gone...
    'Suffering' is what you think about pain. Simple.
    No thoughts = no suffering; Zen.
    There is also no suffering in Salvation!;
    Anyone can be 'Saved'!;
    "Born again" into the state of Unconditional Love = Salvation = Enlightenment = Heaven = Immortality
    True, Unconditional Love is ALWAYS Known by It's Unconditional Virtues;
    Compassion, Empathy, Sympathy, Gratitude, Humility, Charity (Charity is never taking more than your share of anything, ever!), Honesty, Happiness, Faith...
    ALWAYS!
