🤔 In this thought-provoking video, we delve into the wisdom of Gautam Buddha, who emphasized the extraordinary power of our words. Our tongue, often likened to the sharpest knife, can be a double-edged sword, capable of causing emotional wounds or fostering inner growth.
🌲 We bring you a captivating story set in ancient India, where a renowned Buddhist monk resides deep in a tranquil forest. This monk, known for his meditative wisdom, becomes the beacon of hope for a troubled king seeking inner peace.
👑 The king, despite his wealth and fame, grapples with a restless mind, feeling tired and unfulfilled. The monk presents him with a transformative experiment - 15 days of silence. This experiment takes the king on a journey of self-discovery, where the magic of silence begins to work its wonders.
💭 Through the king's experiences, we unravel the profound impact of silence on the human psyche. The story beautifully illustrates how silence allows us to connect with nature, appreciate the beauty of simplicity, and eventually find the inner tranquility we seek.
🧘‍♂️ As the days pass, the king's restless thoughts give way to profound meditation, leading to a deep sense of inner peace. The video explores the king's realization that excessive talking and negative thoughts had been the source of his inner turmoil all along.
📜 Gautam Buddha's teachings on silence are interwoven into the narrative, emphasizing that the first step to self-discovery and inner peace is silence. Buddha's wisdom highlights the value of staying quiet, as it reduces conflicts, restlessness, and arguments in our lives.
😊 The video goes on to explain how silence, when combined with mindfulness, can lead to greater happiness and success. It emphasizes that true intelligence lies in knowing when and what to say, as individuals who choose their words wisely tend to succeed in various endeavors.
🗣️ By contrast, those who talk excessively and spread negativity often face difficulties in relationships and personal growth. The importance of spending time in solitude and practicing daily meditation is also highlighted, offering viewers practical insights for embracing silence in their own lives.
🌟 Join us on this enlightening journey into the world of silence, self-discovery, and inner peace. Explore the transformative power of words and the profound impact of embracing silence as a means to unlock your inner strength and happiness.

What deceptive rubbish. Chronic physical and mental issues will not go away by doing meditation. Particularly ones that are chronic.
Will " being quiet" cure schizophrenia, for example ?
Will it restore a person's legs that he lost in a car accident, and that cruelly prevented him from climbing that mountain in the Himalayas ? A goal that was his life long passion, and for which he had trained for for years ?
Will it stop a chronic hoarder from endlessly collecting piles of junk ?
Or an OCD sufferer who feels compelled to perform meaningless rituals over and over ? No ! And many more examples can be found.
Meditation only conceals your underlying problems, makes you feel better about them. It will help minor challenges, but it isn't a permanent long term solution for serious issues. And if we're mini Gods ourselves, shouldn't ALL our problems be solvable with those "God like powers and abilities" we're alleged to possess ?

I’m a person who enjoys being alone. Alone is peace, because others energy disturbs mine to the point where I feel depressed, sad, angry, jealous, drained (ego driven emotions) I absorb their energy and it really takes a toll on me. Because I know I am not my thoughts, I am light, love, peace, but the mind has such momentum if you let it, it will take you over.
I also understand, I can’t avoid others, I have to learn balance and set boundaries. I have to come from a place of compassion and love in order to see that what others do/say is not about me, but it is about them. Anyways once you go down this inner path there is no going back. It’s not linear, it’s not easy, it’s not fun but it is worth it. It’s a lot of work and takes practice, but you’re not alone

Being alone does not mean not speaking; many lonely individuals are addicted to getting other people's attention, whether through controversial ideas or comments; this can lead to Social Media Anxiety Disorder, even if you do not talk. If you do not communicate, it is regarded as a scornful attitude towards others, and they will band together against you, intensely discussing you among themselves, resulting in harrassment against you.

I just refrained from speaking for 3 days even at work. I told my job it was for religious / spiritual reasons. I can attest that not speaking calms your mind. When you want to complain you can’t and then you realize some of your problems aren’t that serious. Complaining is just reacting to being uncomfortable. I encourage everyone to find times to stay silent. Even if it’s just half a day.

Wow! I was meant to listen to this!
I am one of those people who talks way too much! I always tell myself to stop talking about myself and sharing to much personal information about myself but I can’t seem to stop! And this is so correct because I can never focus on one thing very long 🙁

My beautiful mother who was a Presbyterian minister use to lead silent retreats in Lutsen, MN. She would do the meal providing, lead the nature hikes and do sand play therapy counseling in a separate little cabin once a day. That was the only talking that happened. She would work with the individuals to heal and understand spirituality in the community of silence, in the sand and with the healer Mother Nature and the great water of Superior. She was my hero. RIP Priscilla W. Braun. Cheers to Sunrises and Sunsets on Superior in Silence. ❤ love you mom. May your story inspire many souls to silence. She'd be honored to help anyone.

I've struggled with anger ever since I was a little girl. I always wanted to lash out or be right especially with disrespectful individuals. Recently I've realized that reacting is wasted energy, the more I give it attention the more drained I become.
I find that not speaking allows space for proper or no response along with energy preservation. I realized I don't always need to respond or be right.

Truth is, once you start becoming passionate about this, you will certainly find your inner self easier to connect with and certainly experience the peace of mind you constantly long for.

I meditated on and off for years but unfortunately the gross world has dragged me in once again, very subtly and imperceptibly as it does. I absolutely resonate with the meaning of this video. The power of silence and being inside of your head, and knowing that thoughts are just thoughts. But at the same time, you can be around hundreds of people and still feel alone. Even if you have so many around you, you can talk to about your thoughts and feelings. But just feeling alone in a world full of people is a tough feeling. I know what it’s like. I know there’s more who is feeling this way, and it will get better.we just have to give it time. Yea that’s the way to think but at the same time, it’s really tough atm. ❤ peace & Love🕉

One time. My step brother said this to me. He said. Gary I don't know if you know this. But, since you're so good at talking and articulate. Your WORDS CAN HURT PEOPLE. I sat there and I was speechless. I didn't know that. I thought I was just like everyone else and could speak and express my thoughts like everyone else. Apparently, the impact of my words needed to be carefully chosen. I thank my step brother for that observation. Even though he can't hear me out loud. I know he knows I heard him and still do every day. I didn't know. I really didn't know. But, now I DO. this took place 20 years ago. I'm 58 now.

Thank you for the wisdom contained in this video. I rarely get involved in online discussions because it can be so time consuming, time that I could put to much better uses. I am involved presently in an online discussion/argument where the other person is insulting and trying to score points. I have found myself able to respond to him without insults, stay on track with the points I wish to raise and inject much needed humour (he has none!) into my responses. It is great to be in a space where negative comments do not get to you and you can hold your own without responding in kind. Of course it will be better not to continue the discussion where there are little to no concessions. Be blessed everyone ❤

When growing up i was considered too quiet and that continued all my life. In work places, in school, among friends and partners. I always found that I feel better when not talking. I feel more connected to the universe and the spiritual. I like paying attention to the little things and nature. I also feel that you can get a deeper sense of people around you, even feel people thoughts. Me and my husband often hear each others thoughts and I think other people experience this too they are just to busy to pay attention. Too many distractions in everyday life.

i am learning to sit in silence and continue to just listen. i started off having a bit of a hard time doing so but because of my recent journey into the awakening process and on/off quietness, i find myself talking too much and then recognizing it, and bringing myself back tot the quietness within me. Sometimes it's hard when i have to work with my peers and students in an educational setting but i do find ways to consider my stillness and quietness from within to continue. I utilize my quiet time when i am sitting in a long line waiting to cross the us/mexican border. and i find peace this way. Thank you for sharing your knowledge as i have reckoned with it before watching this video.
