- This 1949 Chevrolet 2 door Suburban has been given a complete late model upgrade. Starting with the 454 c.i. V-8 and turbo transmission, the interior has been updated with a late model Suburban interior which includes and electric driver's seat, removal rear bench seat. Vintage air has also been added with both heat and air for the rear passengers.
This SUV gives you the great look of a 1949 but drives like a modern Suburban. Set up with a custom 2 way tailgate and tow package with tow brakes. Beautiful white paint, grey cloth interior, tinted windows, Sony stereo and Chevrolet chrome wheels rounds out the sleeper look of this modern 1949 Suburban.
You will not find any rust anywhere on the Suburban. This Chevy is ready for a cross country cruise or use it as a daily driver.

Well done restoration especially retention of the metal instrument panel. It would have been nice to have kept the hood emblem/ornamentation but that's a minor issue. Obviously more than a passing resemblance to the recent Chevrolet HHR. Modern updates are inconspicuously blended in and don't detract at all from the intent of the original design.

My best friend in high school's parents gave him an ancient one of these for his 16th birthday and needless to say, he was mortified and considered it to be the quintessential personification of un-cool. However, over time after the shock wore off and the laughter died down another side of it began to be revealed when he realized how perfect it was for dating, if he could get a girl in it - there was plenty of room to indulge in whatever activity that was at hand, if you know what I mean.
