This is a 1-Ton 1948 Chevrolet 3800 series stake bed truck in action. This antique truck was filmed by Samspace81. SUBSCRIBE & LIKE. thank you - daily classic car & truck videos
Wow! Nice truck.....I luv the way the interior is kept stock yet functional...the rest of the truck looks stock yet upgraded "just-right"...excellent job!
Great Restoration Does it have a dump bed? I just found one like this all orginal, it did run when parked last year. Where are you finding parts for these older chevys? Sheet metal, glass and... Thanks
I played this for the sounds. The door slamming at the end! I haven't heard that since 1977 when I left for the Army. Shifting the 4-speed. The transmission singing as it goes down the road. My "first car"/high school car was a 1950 3100 pickup in utterly original condition. Vacuum windshield wipers, 6-volt electrical, granny gear 4-speed like yours, etc. Always wished the guy who ordered it originally had checked the option for the rear cab corner windows, but otherwise, it was well laid out. Chrome rear bumper along with the gleaming 5-bar grille and front bumper yours carries. Thanks for posting this!
Boa noite ! Lindo caminhão, está perfeito, pintura e carroceria de muito bom gosto! Ao filmar poderia ser com mais calma é mais distante para que puder tirar fotos, mas valeu espetacular! Abraços!
My Granpa had a 50 Chevy car had that whine remember that well. Dad had to many trucks to count. The first thing I drove was a 41 Chevy 11/2 Ton truck had a lever on gear stick for reverse?... I think you could open windshield??..
@@packingten Yep. The older ones you could crank out the windshield for ventilation- I can't remember the last year they had it. The '41 Chevy must've been a crashbox, if I recall correctly the transmissions didn't get synchros until 1947.
What made me find this video I bought a 1948 chevy 3800 pickup truck myself paid 3500 cash for it unrestored needs alot of work. It actually got impounded a week ago August 27 and I spent over 500 getting it out 2 days ago because I had it sitting in the street luckily i have a place now to put it up so it dont happen again. But I still definitely have plans to restore it ground up and keep it for myself for my own personal use. I might do a chevy 350 or a 5.3 or 6.0 LS swap and save the original motor and tranny. Im not sure what to do for a tranny swap but if im gonna make the old truck a daily driver and a workhorse again in this era I will likely need something with plenty of horsepower.
Beautiful truck, BUT the pedals and the shifter don't have to beg you for a couple of sprays of WD40. Tiny details that take away from overall impression of a nice ride.
Concordo com o comentário do Antonio! O condutor não está dirigindo com serenidade, ao passar as marchas está sendo agressivo. Teria que ser bém mais cauteloso com certeza! Boa noite!
Nice, very nice. My dad had one of these when I was a kid. Put a canvas over the rack and made an 'RV'. Loaded my mother in the back like a hog. We took a trip from Northern Il to the Ozarks. I remember Route 66 for part of it. My dad would go through town and empty his pipe by banging it on the door...embarrassing as hell.
When I was little in the early 60's my grandfather had one like that same color and all with a little jib crane up in the front right corner of the bed. He bought a new 65 Ford to replace it and the mechanic at our township's garage bought the Chevy from us. The mechanic got some kind of government aerospace job in either Arizona or New Mexico and he packed up all his stuff on the back and drove it from suburban Philadelphia Pa all the way out west. When he left it looked like the Grapes of Wrath truck to me. We got a Christmas card from him that year and he said his wife and him made it all the way without a problem. I'll bet that was a slow ride
Had the toy model of that truck. At the end of the body snatchers movie it was full of the seed pods. I would fill mine with Brussels sprouts and make believe!
HAHA too cool Ivan, thanks for sharing. I can envision it and I love brussel sprouts! Thanks for commenting again & following the Samspace81 classic car channel
Lindo Dimas taí algo de maravilhoso que um ser humano pid fazer ! Gostei muito pena que não tenho condições de ter e recuperar um ou outro veículo antigo .Mas estou feliz por você amiho. ?
This truck has a later 235 6cylinder engine...square top valve cover side bolts...not orginal...but a good swap the old 216 splash lubed 6's only made boat anchors....
Wilbur Finnigan that is correct. The larger models like my 54 4400 has the 235.5 thriftmaster. And the larger like 5900 had the 261.5. And then in 63 the 292 came out.
