    Also worth mentioning Murray plays with a very soft synthetic base grip made by Karakal. Most older pros prefer leather as base grip. Very comfortable setup... ;)

    Oh man, terrific videos. Is there any chance to have Wawrinka´s pro stock racquet on a test?

    Got to hit with Murray’s frame a couple months ago with the Graphene Touch PJ, very plush frame yet packs a punch.

    You absolutely read my mind about top pro players swapping racquets. Rafa swinging a Pro Staff RF 97 would be something to see. I’d also love to see them using the old wooden Dunlop Fort Maxply, although they’d probably end up injuring themselves.

      Just in a practice up and down Rafa with an RF97 would look like Rafa. For match play it would take time to get used to it but he would get used to it. But there's no doubt that the qualities of the Aero perfectly align with Nadals ahead of his time modern approach to tennis and his unique take on that as well. So he's not only going to play better with it because of familiarity but also because it just suits him better. Same in reverse with Federer. It's not even just the racket as Nadals spec and string setup is also very different. Nadal had a very light setup years back that actually wasn't that forgiving timing wise but nowadays he's swinging a 360 or so swing weight. Also full bed of poly. Not gut and poly. Nadal strings higher tension. Just very different setups for different players. Nadals racket then and now would be harder to use for many, but not for nadal himself.
      I've seen pros hit with wooden rackets and they hit extremely well. Nadal has some of the best timing on tour and no doubt he'd also adjust given a little time and strike the ball well with a wooden racket. But he's never going to be able to play his modern brand of spin tennis with it.
      I think gladiator tennis channel have a video with them using wooden rackets. I didn't see it but saw a thumbnail I think. Mentioning them as they playing low level pro tournaments. So they're good. Not Rafa good. But good.

    I hit with Berdych's YT Radical MP 16x19 and I'd guess that the swingweight is in the 390s. What's amusing is that it didn't feel as stable as my IG Prestige MPs. It's fun taking out old, heavier racquets to hit around with. I'd love to try a PT57A - it's one of the things that I'd like to try one of these days. I suspect that my IG Prestige MPs are good enough.

      My IGPMP feels like the weight is concentrated in the throat and lower parts of the hoop, yours?

    Extreme Tour w/ leather grip (+14g), lead at 10, 2 and 12 (12g total). Adds up to 359g static weight, stringed with ice code 1.30. Anything less beefy now feels like a toy. At almost 360g I can finally swing a little slower, yet the ball packs a punch still. I was usually bullied by younger, UTR 9+ players. Not anymore.
    Just focus on lowering the center of gravity and setting up with as extended a base as possible. Play like a WTA girl, with a manly racquet. That's the Secret :)

    Another interesting look and as i had heard a very heavy swinging and hard to handle racket. It's interesting what you are saying about technique and and adapting to a racket, I have been using a Prestige IGMP for many years now and have had difficulty moving over to other rackets. I feel I can hit out on it and still make the shot unlike any other racket I have tried. I have recently purchased some Head Prestige 360+ MPs but feel the racket plays very differently, I went low with the tension (46/48) but in this racket it plays very differently and I feel I have a lot less control but still not big power. Where did you add the lead on the Prestige 360+? Looking forward to seeing the Agassi test, I tried one of his head frames last year, lovely feel and hitting but a huge Head size :)

    How close is Fed’s actual racquet he plays with to the RF97 that us 3.5 players buy in the millions?

    Hey Jonas, should you choose a racquet that boosts your strengths or uplifts your weaknesses?

    • @sjjapp
      @sjjapp 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That depends. Many pros make equipment choices that enhance how they can best hurt an opponent. Sometimes it goes other way though and they make choices that iron out some of their weaknesses so to speak, as best as they can.
      A good example would be extended length rackets. Many of the world's best servers have and do use extended length rackets. Also, it's not uncommon for shorter players to use extended length rackets. The benefits for both camps are obvious.
      You have to decide for yourself.

    • @Tennisnerd
      @Tennisnerd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends what you want to achieve, the answer below is good to me. If you are really frustrated about your backhand and it loses you many points, a racquet that feels most natural to that stroke might be the idea. If you have a monster serve that wins you most of your points, you should likely go for a racquet that maximizes that.

    Interesting to see one of the former Big 4's racket specs so thanks much for the post. Looks like swingweight (after acctg. for strings) approximately same as Djoker's frame around 370-ish so yeah not for the club player. Very disappointing Head didn't issue a 25th Anniversary Guga signature edition PT 630 this year to commemorate Guga's 1st Slam @ RG so not happy w/Head about that.

      @AJ XOXO Yeah, he won 3 & 8 runner-up in SLAMS & an Olympic gold medal during a period where the Big 3 were generally winning all the slams otherwise. So he was referred to as the 4th in the Big 4 when he was on his run. The comment says "former" too. Apparently you missed that timeline in tennis lol....

    hey bro great job, love your videos. I want to buy either the vcore pro 97 (310) the new one or the new blade v8 16x19, i currently play with the rf97 but i have been feeling discomfort on my shoulder so wanted to try a lighter racquet that gives me control, feel, and precision. which one would you recommend. (i dont want to try demos i just wanted asap. jajaj

    So basically its a prestige or similar to one?

  • @b.lakeberg7456
    @b.lakeberg7456 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, seeing pros play with different frames would be interesting. I ponder if Murray and Fed would struggle a lot or very little between thier frames. They could be closer in spec ranges than the other two players mentioned. I doubt Alcaraz would have fun with any of the big 4 frames.

    Somebody should pitch that idea to the TV networks; a show in a similar vein to Wife Swap. Professional tennis players swap racquets, clothing, families, lifestyle etc for a week. Then they all gather together to discuss what they learned, if anything.
