@@jimclawley7503 it's not a prestige, the mold originally was used for the radical tour (bumblebee then the Zebra and finally the candycane) and also the Pro Tour 630.
It's a Head pro stock known as the PT57A. Head produced the original Head Pro Tour 630 (or Trisys 280) off the same mold in an 18x20 string pattern. Andy uses the 16x19 version.
I'm a high level junior from Scotland, so thought this was a cool video! Grew up supporting and watching Andy Murray for as long as I can remember. I use to Wake up during the middle of the night to watch him play(normally at the Australian). I also use to pretend I was sick the days he was playing, so that I could go home from school and watch him. Suffice to say however my Mum soon caught on!! Great video found it really interesting.
How could you be such a fan of rackets as this guy but not know about PT57A?? 😳 He redeems himself at the end... someone get him a Tennisnerd subscription lol!
Somewhere about this time in his career , Andy began having wrist issues. He then lowered the static weight to 345 grams and moved some of the weight toward the middle of the frame. Not sure about his swing weight now. Head's string patterns and their cap grommets are interchangeable for the most part on most of their racquets.
Great video as always! I believe Andy Murray uses a Karakal PU foam based base grip for his racquets. I think one of the guys at P1 once mentioned this a while back.
The 134 might be the Racquet Vibration Frequency whereby lower numbers in the low 100’s eg : 130-140 indicate that it’s a softer racquet & higher frequency eg : 160 & above is a stiffer racquet to play with. I might be wrong but the number roughly matches for the racquet spec that Andy uses.
Andy’s uses the PT57E 16/19. You’re looking to spend big bucks if you want to buy one. If you really want a racket that’s as close to Andy’s, the Head Pro Tour 630/280 PT57A mold is as close you can get. Head has just recently re released the Pro Tour 2.0. Looking forward to the reviews.
134 is the racket count that he has per Nate Ferguson at P1. P1 labels his racquets apparently of the PT57A hairpins that indeed have lead tape as you indicated, and indeed has silicone under handle.
Head has cap grommets for several racquets. That’s a pt57a with cap grommets. GrapheneXT and 360 had cap grommets for radical, instinct and prestige. I have orange caps for my 19 radical pros. It gets you that high 330/340 swingweight without all the tape. Those gens even had alternate string patterns. You could change from 16/19 to 16/16

ppm120667 so I’ve heard. Some say it’s the last decent Radical made, because of the soft flex and nice plow thru. Is this true? I’ve not played with that one. I do own the original Radical 260 Trisys Bumblebee in both the OS version and the mid plus. Midplus is very head heavy.
ppm120667 so I’ve heard. I recently purchased three of the Head Graphene Touch Prestige Tour. 65 flex and 325 SW. It was too light though. I added 2 grams lead at 12 and 14 grams of silicone in the handle. Static weight is 343 and it plays like butter. Plays very similar to the original Radical.
@ppm120667 absolutely! I've tried a few of the newer frames and most I didn't enjoy at all. No feel. I prefer Head racquets, but the graphene thing has me baffled. Yeah it's pretty tricky marketing and due to some lawsuit that's why now they say that the racket is "endorsed" by the pro instead of the pro "playing with" or "using". I believe most pros used the same racket for 10+ years because it would be huge adjustment if they change to new model every 2-3 years, so they just change the paint job.
Yucel Guldali: It just means that more weight (racquet + lead tape) is in the head vs the handle. Quite easy to get to a swingweight of >370 if you do that. Makes sense too that the racquet is not very headlight. Must be a beast of a stick to swing, imagine for 5 sets in the heat! Sorta sounds like a Blade 16x19 with a ton of lead tape in the hoop.
