They are actually from Vienna. Which is Austria. :)
+Rob Hoiting German system clarinets has nothing to do with that fact that they're in Austria, it has to do with the fact that they have German fingerings, as the traditional basset horn has keys that cover the holes instead of open holes. So yes, they are German system clarinets, although they may be in Austria at the moment. :)
The keywork and bore of the clarinets they use in Austria are actually slightly different from what one finds in Germany. One almost never finds full-Oehler systems in Austria, but a more simplified version of the German key system. There are a few makers, such as Gerold and Neureiter, who make specifically Austrian-spec clarinets.

Whatever that was just blew my mind. I just started playing clarinet about a year ago at the ripe old age of 37. I can barely do that glissando with my fingers just messing around. To do it completely with your embouchure is just phenomenal.

Kelsey Rae it's actually an alto clarinet with a wooden bell and neck
Stefan Rogers it's a basset horn. Probably one from Stephen Fox, it's the only "real" basset horn to my knowledge. Stephen Fox's basset horn has 15.5 small bore, which uses a (Bb/A) mouthpiece.

Reason why I play bass and regular clarinet,
I need help on how to hit that high E on the melody. I'm able to hit the high D with great tone. But when I play the E it either squeaks or sounds flat. Any tips?
They are using German clarinets, but everyone else I know uses French clarinets. The fingering is slightly different on the German system and there are more keys. But maybe a harder reed could be what you need.

@@rowan5118 Practice getting those top notes in tune every time without squeaking. It's a process that won't happen over night. Another thing that'll help is really nailing your technique on the lower notes so when you do go higher you're more ready for it. It's all about putting the practice in.

What’s hard for clarinet players? Like tonguing? I play trumpet and it’s range and tone for me
y33tboy faster tonguing can be a bit difficult and so can playing louder dynamics if you don't know how to keep your jaw set and support your breath properly
Finger control, embouchure, air control.
Tonguing,breathing, and moving fingers in time during fast songs
Trilling some notes, toungeing fast, changing ombuchure for certain boted
We can't do double tonguing like brass. Well, i met some players who could tongue really fast, but double tonguing is quite hard and almost impossible. In my opinion, that's it.

A clarinet quartet with an alto is just glorious. Their midtones are just stunning. Playing low with a Bb or high with a bass just doesn't sound the same.

thats a Bb soprano clarinet, it just got some weird parts it looks like.
All 4 are German style clarinets. They're a little different to your typical French style that most people are familiar with but yes it's a Bb soprano.
