I have a mazda 3 2017 in thailand. I can see the mirrors can move automatically but can not find any buttons at all to fold them. I can see the are capable of moving. I will try this.
My mazda 3, 2015 won't close side mirrors automactly. When I close them manualy (by my hands) thay opening. I don't have button for side mirrors inside my car. Any suggestion?
Hi does this work on a 2008 Mazda ATENZA ? I can push a button to fold them in and out when I park but was wanting them to do it on their own when I lock and unlock the car
According to the owner's manual for the process, you just reverse the steps. If that doesn't work..... With the car off. Press the trip reset stick by your speedometer. Hold the press. While holding press the start button twice. Wait 5 seconds and you should be good.
Hi Dave; 2016 sport nav 2.2 here, manual electric fold mirrors (they don’t fold when you lock the car, you have to turn drivers door panel rotary dial to 6pm to get them to fold in). Is there a way to make them fold when you lock the car ? Many thanks 🙏
Canadian versions do not have the power mirror feature in the 2016 cx-5. if the feature is available in your country the programing may be deferent from what is shown here and you should consult your local Mazda sales professional for assistance.
Hi David, thank you for your question, Some features require some instruction because the owner's manual sometimes needs to be interpreted. and lots of people will be apprehensive about asking questions in one way or another, so that's why I make these videos.
this process is incorrect. you must hold front passengers window switch and BOTH rear switches with window lock on. Your way only worked because you were sitting in the seat so they mirrors won't fold while in the vehicle.
My 2017 Mazda 3 has a switch on the drivers door that can disable the folding action. Has Mazda gone backwards by having to go through this complicated procedure?
@@DaveHallock Thanks for the reply...Just to clarify. If you disable the automatic fold, you can still use the knob to fold them from inside whenever you need to? Thanks!
Why do they switch from pressing drivers side to passenger side? This is the most complicated that I’d do unnecessary procedure. Why don’t they have that option on/off in the setting? Other cars do.
likely there is a patent on the on off of the feature so this is a way to do it that gets around it. would be nice to see the upgrade in future versions.
Hi Dave, can I use this this technique on my Mazda 2? It has electric folding mirrors which is operated from the inside of the car, but I want it opening and closing automatically when I unlock and lock respectively. Thanks
th-cam.com/video/9TaOXbyuMlw/w-d-xo.html this video better explains how to do it. the process is the same to enable and disable. always make sure the car is on , the window lock button is in the lock position and the parking brake is on.
You can turn the mirrors in just by twisting the mirror adjustment knob all the war to the right and that will fold them in or out. This video is to show how to disable them from moving in the winter to prevent damage.
@@DaveHallock Hi yes I know that, but there was on TH-cam but cannot find it, where it showed when you walk away and shut the door the mirrors automatically close, and when you open the door the wing mirrors open that's what I am looking for.
@@Anna-zx6lp this version might make more sence. Note if you do not have the feature ....it will not do anything. but you can manually turn the mirrors in if you are in a tight space. th-cam.com/video/9TaOXbyuMlw/w-d-xo.html
Hi Dave, Thanks for the amazing video on showing us disabling the Auto Folding mirrors for CX-5’s! 😄 I was wondering If this will work on my 2019 Mazda CX-5 GT? And I’m from Winnipeg.
If the car has the power folding feature it should. just remember to put on the parking brake and then at the end, get out of the car to get it to sync properly when you lock the door.
Hi DAve. I have a Mazda CX9 Signature and want to make sure that my mirrors are folding when parking because the neighbors in my basement are always giving scrathces. I tried to follow the procedure but it is not working. Is it the exact same process to make sure that the mirrors are folded in while locking the car? Thanks in advance.
@@DaveHallock Hi Dave I have the same concern like @syed713 has. In order to set an automatic folded mirrors when I hit the lock key in the remote, Please correct me if I am wrong. you should consult the owners manual and your sales person. the Canadian version of the CX-30 dose not have power fould mirrors so not sure if the programing sequence would be different.
On my Mazda 3, 2020 model bought in Europe - I do this procedure easily from the settings menue in the display

why is this a thing? my 2017 mazda 3 has a button on the window switch panel that disables the mirrors, or allows you to operate them manualy

Can you still manually fold the mirrors with the knob on the door or the fob?
you can always fold the mirrors manually or if they have the power fold, then just use the mirror control to do it.

yes the mirrors should be able to flex forward and back in case of getting bumped in tight spaces, just grab the mirror and manually move it
