I actually like just hearing you guys talk about cars sometimes. Going back and forth. It is great that you both have a chance to evaluate so many of the competing models that it gives you a strong base for comparison. I think that it is naturally going to be a tough position for automakers to have their "Jr." performance models. Because they always need to have enough of a performance benefit with their top model to lure buyers to pay the extra money, but they need to still make the lessor models look appealing for those that like the car, but don't want to spend that much. I do wonder how the Camaro 1LE would be with this upgraded 4 cylinder engine and a manual transmission. Of course that is the dilemma of the Camaro and CT4, because other than having more back seat room and the Magnetic ride control, the $31K (U.S.) Camaro 1LE is simply a much better performance value. And the Camaro can be had in convertible form as well.
I looked at a Camaro SS when I was car shopping a year ago.I had a 50k budget.I ended up with a 2020 AWD Kia Stinger 3.3TT--and could not be happier.I even went to the drag strip last november and was running faster 1/4 mile times then 85% of the american muscle cars--My 12.7 in the quarter also blew all the 4 cylinder cars away. The fastest 4 cylinder there--raced me--a 500 HP WRX and I beat that--the video is online. The AWD adds so much performance to a car--i will prob spring for AWD from now on. BTW my Stinger was 36k after rebates and after my trade--I paid 19k out the door--so I was way under budget and have 30k already in the bank for my net car--which in theory the cadilliac CT5-V could be considered--but it would have to have 400 plus HP and do 6o in 4 or under and the quarter in low 12s.In 2025 when I might be looking again--there will be many awsome cars--from the new stinger--to the TT6 400 HP plus acura tlx type s--to hopefully a more powerful AWD caddy cts5-V.Some folks like me do not want 20k in electronics and exotic leather--all that stuff deprciates in the first year--i just had my trade in value of my car--34,700--so at 1 year old I lost a little over 1k in deprciation--which is almost unheard of.My car stickered for 43k--and at 36k was a steal.Bought at height of covid so they were willing to do anything to get a sale--they also gave me the 10 year warranty on the whole car.I only have 5k on my car--i put only 5 to 6k yearly--so my cars tend to be at the high end for trade ins--and I maintain them at the dealer.

Here's the thing about the 2.7 L Duramax turbo 4-cylinder Cadillac uses is also in the Silverado (depending on trim) It's their new go to engine GM raves about it being durable & reliable.
I have the ATS 2.0T with a manual and a few mods making the power almost identical, and I can say YES. I also like the interior of the ATS over this in certain colors. This thing with some few mods, and high performance summer tires would be nothing but smiles, and keep up with bonafide sports cars in the canyons.
@@KCMrecordings it is how cars work actually. The ct4 is the same platform as the Camaro SS and the engine would fit. Obviously I cant change those things myself as a consumer. but if GM had decided to build this car like that it would sell far more. the CT4v and blackwing will probably flop and be cancelled within the year.

I had a 2.0L turbo ATS with a 6spd manual, Brembos and a LSD. I put 200,000 trouble free enjoyable Kms on it and very much enjoyed my experience. If this had a manual trans I would be on it...but for the price since it’s almost impossible to get a manual trans in this class of car I bought a demo 2020 Stinger GT Limited for $45k. I have to say I’m enjoying the Stinger so far but perhaps a 2nd hand CT4 black wing with a stick will be my next car...
Cadillac is putting the car in this segment based on price. And having similar rear seat leg room. Not on segment size. The tweener strategy it used with success with the prior 1 and 2nd gen CTS. Which is why it went back to it with the CT5. The 3rd gen CTS sales cratered after it was priced like it's other midsize competitors.
I’m glad you guys called Cadillac out for trying to say this is a S3/CLA competitor. This is definitely a 3 series/C-class/A4 competitor and Cadillac is trying to go down a class in order to make the produce look better because they cheaped out on a lot of the interior.
It'd be nice to see some more in-line 5's as every company starts downsizing their engines. The variety of tones and aggression from lighter, more compact cars would satisfy so many car enthusiasts.
I test drove 2016 ATSV Sedan and had horrible lag. The 16 V I bought without teat drive had zero! Whomever had it 1st tuned it and its awesome! The shifting was also tuned. Love my 16 ATSV Sedan! Fully loaded 80k got it for 42k. The balance is superb!
I have 3,000 miles on my 2021 Ti Sport Awd with adaptive suspension. The suspension on crappy roads is the best I’ve had but I’ve never had a Caddy with the magnetic suspension. I just did some Dragy runs today and my best one was 5.3 sec 0-60. Getting 26 mpg and I drive in Dynamic 100% of the time. I’ve gotten 30 mpg on the highway. The only change I’d like is 245/35 tires instead of the skinny 225/40’s. All in all, I’m extremely impressed with the dynamic performance and the comfort. The steering and brakes are awesome. Love the seats too.
@@sunnyvalentino the MSRP was $51k. It has the panoramic sunroof, adaptive suspension, and phone charging pad. I’m leasing it through my employer so I didn’t have to put any money down. Alfa does have some very good lease rates now and I heard that they’re starting a new certified pre-owned program. They depreciate pretty fast so you could get a 2017 for $25-30k but it may be out of warranty which is risky.
