- The 2022 Bentley Bentayga S (~$341,240 CAD converted , $269,390 USD) is a mid-trim luxury vehicle equipped with a 542 horsepower twin-turbo V8 engine, and has many options for personal customization and flair. True luxury innovation! They didn't replace physical buttons with touchscreen buttons, and they didn't stick with just physical buttons-They have physical buttons that act as 𝘥𝘰𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘯 to the touchscreen buttons!

You can really see Donkerwolke's work being done here. It's no question the guy who penned these current Bentley products is the same one now behind the Genesis SUVs- the GV70 specifically. And from the interior front seat impression alone I gotta say, at a glance, I think the Genesis _appears_ more impressive.
I think that's true. It's one of those things where if you get in real close you'll notice little Bentley details like having nicer materials under the seat and around the railings and more details inside the headlights but from a few feet away that GV80 looks real high end, and not far behind the Bentley inside and out. Pretty impressive considering the price difference and that it's not the highest end GV90.
@@iSOBigD yeah. Many people are saying the GV70 punches above its weight with interior materials. They went all out for that. It's still not Bentley level of course but... it's also a $197,000 discount for a car that, on the outside, looks way better imo.

I ended up in a GV70 after driving every comparable german car in the price range... it was just obviously better.
I set out to buy an SQ5 but it wasn't at all what I dreamed of... the 3.5T has made me super happy power wise, and was ~ 10k less than the SQ5 I wanted to order... the interior is absolutely beautiful, too. It has parts that you can see in some places in various hyundais, but everyone also thinks it's either a jag or a bentley from the outside, and you can't blame them.

Finally you guys get a Bentley! Can you do the 2022 Flying Spur specifically? They hired a digital mapping company to figure out where the 2020&2021 models had unwanted vibrations and extra noise and insulated them better. Would love to hear your opinions of that against the new Maybach with E-ABC and the new Ghost. Especially over shitty roads where Benz suspensions always rattle.

Good review. I like car journalists who dare to be critical. As Aston Martin and Range Rover have stepped up their game, Bentley is being left behind in some areas. Hope they will improve with gen 2.

For a car that's almost $300K...and SUV at that, it better hit 10/10 on everything. For this price i want to feel like I am floating on clouds and there better not be any body roll.
I hope they do a more extensive review because 95% of the people who buy this live in big cities, probably take long commutes to work, they are in stop and go traffic and probably hauling their kids around.

I can't get over the visual exterior similarity to the Korean SUVs and somehow even though the materials and fit are probably better to my eye the Hyundai in particular looks better.
its almost perfect even without the extra power of the speed. The steering wheel is also kind of similar in look to the Audi Sportier steering wheel in the Current Audi cars. However I don't think part sharing does this particular car a disservice

I feel like Bentley's interiors haven't been progressing much at all, they used to have the best interiors with no plastic used in it and it just looked gorgeous, now not so much.

I’d have to disagree, older Bentley interiors have way too many VW parts, for a while the Continental GT has the same exact steering wheel and shifter as a Passat, those are things you will interact with every time you get in the car. I’d say they’re headed in the right direction

Off the bat I don’t know what’s different from the regular Bentayga (did he say REGULAR Bentayga?!) but that SUV, is beautiful. And I don’t like many SUVs. Ok I don’t like any SUVs, by way of looks. The Trackhawk I LOVE because of what it does. The Urus, which I’ve seen in person, looks much better in person, and quite honestly reminds me of what Porsche did with the Cayenne. That is, essentially took a 911, blew into the tailpipe(s), added a pair of doors, and then threw a V engine under the hood and called it an SUV. The Urus looks like the Aventador version of that, but it is really good looking. This vehicle, I guess we are calling it an SUV, blows all of that out of the water. Could you imagine what Bentley could do with a wagon/estate/shooting brake a’ la Porsche Tourismo/ Dodge Magnum? I think they could stop the planet on its axis with such a vehicle. Make it big, brawny, understated and overstated, yep, said it, give it selectable AWD/RWD, and 600+ ICE horsepower plus 400+ E horsepower, with the requisite 1200ft/lbs of combined torque, and ALL else would bow. For a few years. By 2025, the power wars will have peaked. The human body can only handle so much G- force on acceleration without prior training and conditioning. It will soon enough be the case that the uninitiated will step into a Lucid Air Sapphire+++ with 1500hp and 1700 ft/lbs and 335mm wide tires at all four corners and achieve and computer aided traction controlled 0-60 sprint in the 1.2-1.5 second range and the driver/pilot will pass out behind the wheel. And after about four seconds, and at 135mph we don’t need unconscious drivers, do we? They don’t put astronauts through that kind of training because G-forces are a joke, do they? Even top fuel dragster drivers gain that kind of resistance to those forces by experience, and those forces aren’t sustained for enough time. It takes a few seines of blood flow interruption to bring unconsciousness. Regardless, not everyone has a last name Force(a nod to the drag racing family of great fame), and not everyone has the physical ability to resist those forces. Who would ever have thought that one day our own physical limitations would become the limiting factor of sheer acceleration with street driven automobiles. To wit, I’d love to have Ashley and John Force drive one of these modern hyper accelerators and give a personal comparison to their top fuel dragsters. After all, those are still internal combustion engines, and I’ll bet the initial 0-1.2 seconds would be somewhat comparable, before those 5,000-10,000 horsepower monsters achieve full torque and the 100mph-300mph rush is the one that is truly mind boggling. I’m sure I’m off with these numbers a bit, but close enough to make my point. Our own BODIES will be the limiting factor soon enough. That is my claim. Sooooo, Bentley, have you started on my translucent black, 120” wheelbase, 1200ft/lb,0-60 in 2.5 seconds, 230mph, Empire Estate? Yep. I named it so rudely on purpose. If we’re gonna. E grotesque, let’s be politically incorrect as possible to. I could have named it something more vulgar, like the
Bentley Bollocreasewomb Wagon, evoking creation, safety, and masculinity crushing feminism which doth dominate our every whim and moment, but that would be a stark reality which most men won’t admit for decades yet witnessed. Forms of feminine beauty converge with masculine strength to elicit yearns ill acknowledged by our deepest id. Yet, plain to see for those whose eyes are wide open. Build my car please. I’ll buy it with my wit and charm, for my pennies shall n’er acquire fair barter. And I shall assume possession of said steed by sunset on the forthcoming shortest day, lest ye possess mine ire at ye own great peril. I’d like my bitchin station wagon sooner than later and you’ll issue it to me as your newest test driver and quality control advisor, of course. Thanks for the raise. Bentley, you always make good decisions. Thank you for this one.

I think Naim is pronounced like "name" as James went with, and their hi-fi systems are great (my dad is an audiophile and has mostly owned Naim speakers and amps). Would be interested to hear one of their systems in a car, though I'm unlikely to ever sit in one of these.
Feels like, for all Rolls are amazing, I can't see why someone would need any more luxury than what this offers and get the added sporty benefits.

@@-_--le3zk Fair shout on the performance. Anything below 4 seconds sounds scary to me - not sure there are really many drivers out there who can handle those sorts of speeds (beyond those who race at least semi- professionally and in a particularly high vehicle class).
Would say that I'm not sure how much it's the additional luxury offered by the Rolls as it is the bragging rights that really attract a buyer to a Rolls (as it's hardly like you can travel low-key in one of those). Guess if you're going to spend that sort of money, you want people to know.
naim uniti atom ftw.. there are higher end units from Lumin and Aurender but Naim is great stuff.
