A recent newspaper report on this MPs comment demonstrates the inaccuracy of such nonsense on reparations. Great Britain abolished slavery and policed the seas to implement that decision. West African states promoted slavery from within and particularly in the Bight of Biafra were, by admission, much involved and British administration did all in their power, often against the wishes of the Igbo and the middlemen, Arachuku, to prevent the horrific trade. The Portugese continued long after abolition, the Spanish and others; when have I heard any voices raised against their recorded history of slavery? The Nilotic and North African people were and in cases still are, unashamedly, brutal motivators and beneficiaries of slaving. No reparations and it would behove the black MP to turn her attention to Africa, of which I doubt she has any first-hand experience. Sunak is absolutely correct in his response.

no one is responsible for the actions of their "race" or clan. Each person is responsible for their own actions.
The action of parents, brothers, children, cousins or other members of his race is in no way legitimate for a person to apologize.
