      What's the point of the huge transmission tunnel in the back seats then? Stupid.

    • @andreaswright
      @andreaswright 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How has SEAT engineers made such a "simple" mistake??? I have seen other crossover SUVs which are only front wheel drive with no transmission hump in the floor...

    • @BruceLeedar
      @BruceLeedar 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Transmission tunnel is either for other markets where AWD is available, or other related car models that share structural parts that do have a drive shaft going to the rear (i.e. manufacturer cost savings by using common parts for several vehicles), or simply that a possibility for adding AWD to the line up is considered more important than a flat floor.

      That makes sense. Thank you for a sensible answer.

    Had a 1.0 115bhp one as a hire car in Spain for the last week, done about 1,000 miles in it. Must admit I’m very impressed indeed. Pretty comfy, ergonomically spot on, can get two suitcases in the boot with room to spare, surprisingly quick, getting over 50mpg, handles really well and it’s enjoyable. Difficult to see how it could be any better really - I’d like to try the 1.5 version.

    Mine is desire red with a grey roof - technology se automatic
    It drives well is spacious and I get around 52 mpg at the min I expect more once it’s run in - I’ve only done 600 miles. Highly recommend this car - it has lots of extras you’d normally have to pay for... very happy with my new 🚘 beats my Citroen cactus hands down!!

  • @StephenButlerOne

    Took one for a drive. It was excellence Lux spec (far better than the spec you tested) . It's is a very nice car, bar one issue, the engine, I drove the 1L 3cyl, it was fine around town, and ok (at best) on the motorway. My biggest issue was Mpg, for a car with no guts, or fun, I want better than 34mpg. (the trip was showing that over 2k miles).
    You need the one with the leather dash and door cards, plus the half leather alcantara seats. Then you have a nice package, minus the engine.
    Apparently they are getting the 1.5petrol that is in the Octavia (150bhp), that should make this car a winner in its class.

    • @sbomorse
      @sbomorse 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stephen Butler he's driving an Xcellence, there's not so much difference between the two.

    • @StephenButlerOne
      @StephenButlerOne 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Samuel Brooks that was an strange Excellence model. As the stock excellence has a leather dash. This has been 'up graded' with silver!
      If you go in a store, you'll see what I mean. I took a couple o ;a test drive. There is a huge difference in 'feel' between them all. Though that's exacly how seat are marketing this. Avoid the entry edition, that is bad.

      Had the FR as a company car for just over a week now. Wasn't particularly looking for something sporty, but it's the only trim (along with the FR Sport) that comes with the 1.5 engine that we wanted. And I really like it; yes, in terms of trim quality it does suffer in comparison to the Audi A3 Sport it replaced, but it's really nice to drive (ride isn't too hard), and has a good selection of bells and whistles that I didn't have in the A3. Cheep and cheerful :)

    • @ricksanchez8469
      @ricksanchez8469 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just got this car and honestly I am in love with it, I got it in the xcellence lux spec with the 115 petrol engine, it feels plenty powerful for my liking. Couldn't be happier.

  • @creativecharacters1181
    @creativecharacters1181 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    So I recently got the Arona, FR, automatic in the deep red with the black roof/mirrors and I must say I really prefer the trim on the FR to the excellence. There's more interior leather and soft touch areas and even ambient LED lighting. The dual turbos on the FR also make it a nippy car (my last was a 1.6 diesel focus and the performance is almost identical, 0-60 is supposed 10 seconds but I clocked one run at 8) you'll never struggle to merge in traffic, and can easily beat a lot of cars at the lights and, dare I say, it even feels a bit sporty (though obviously, this isn't meant to be a fast car). In my view, other than a few bits of extra tech, there's no real reason to go above the FR model if you're considering buying (I mean no offense to anyone who has the excellence model - you still have a cracking car!). I think its literally a case of you get front parking sensors? Maybe even a rear camera? But it really isn't worth the extra cost (again in my opinion). When looking at the version Matt is driving, it has that weird fake chrome interior all over the dash, FR has a stitched leather - just a more elegant/stylish model (in my opinion). I definitely recommend the car if you're looking to buy, and being VW/Audi group means that the engine is reliable and it (should) retain a good price down the line.

    Got one rental at moment. Your right about the whistle from mirrors and bloody road noise is so bad I taught boot was open. Other than that it's fast and handles like a dream. The gear change is perfection.

      it's an american thing, not really used anymore in europe since cars are no longer always introduced in october at a motorshow.
      In this specific case it's just to distinguish reviews of older models, he doesn't say 2019 once in the video and it's not written m.y. 2019 either.

    • @londonas2
      @londonas2 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I work for one of these manufacturers and most of the time the model year will have a different software to comply with different emission standards. It will also have some bug fixes found in voice of customer fleets as well.

    • @ligregni
      @ligregni 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      My take is that it's a marketing thing. If possible, dealers would start selling "2022 models" from January 2nd, 2021.
      If you go to brand A's dealership and have the 2020 option, then go to brand B's dealership and have a comparable 2021 option (this comment is posted in Oct 2020), you would feel that you are getting a newer vehicle.

    Hired a 2021 SEAT Arona FR automatic after a day I had to check and was surprised it was a 1.0
    Moves really quick. Response is pretty quick. You can easy say as a driver it drives like a sports car. I have to say it does NOT look as fast as it drives. But driving this car you'd be confident enough to drive beside any German cars. But speeding in corners I noticed it isn't much stuck on the road as it does slide a tiny bit

    Thanks to CarWow - I've just bought a Xcellence Lux 115 psi DSG via the app. The process was so easy, I received 5 replies and bought from Seat Bury St Edmunds. Alison and Aaron were fantastic, great knowledge, great customer service and a great price, I did a PCP lease over 48 months have to wait until end of June to collect due to covid19. The best bit has to be the CarWow app, if you are looking for a car use it, its so simple to use. Thanks Matt.....

    I get this car drives nicely once it hits 2,000 revs and above, but in all the reviews I've watched none of the following is mentioned: The sound the doors make when closing is hollow, almost tinny. Not a quality build in that respect. The initial get away for the car under 2,000 revs can be quite sluggish, which is frustrating at junctions/roundabouts and can be dangerous at times. I would gladly swap the wireless charger installed for rear windows that go all the way down, folding wing mirrors or even a reversing camera (I have the SE-T spec 1.0L 115bhp DSG). Good car but not as great as being claimed in my opinion.

    Cant decide either the 1.0 ecotsi 115 or the 1.6 diesel... i mainly drive local (20-40mph) but sometimes i carry passengers (full car) and then once a month may do the odd motorway drive (leeds to manchester) not sure how the 1.0 ecotsi will cope with the weight and distance or should i get the 1.6 diesel

    Simple yet powerful little machine. Get a fully spec'd model guys, over time you'l thank yourself for doing so..the odd option here n there matters..

    i like these videos but sometimes a little generic and personal preference at the expense of information can take over..... But at 1:55 surely the jump to LED lights are worth a mention to go up a trim level. Overall I'd shortlist these videos!

    Budget brand like Seat can be a game changer for Volkswagen group in south Asia. They should have launch it instead of Skoda.

      krunal kadam budget? Lol they are just a few pennies cheaper than a vw. Even skoda that used to be the cheapest, the difference is almost non existent nowadays 😑

      It's a bit pointless what they're doing with the different brands...why bother, if you're just gonna end up pricing them near identically?!

      Sedna S few pennies ? Where I live a similar specced anything seat vs VW the VW costs a substantial 30-40% more
