    I bought this exact bike last May and it's a really good bike to get into the world of trials. It is also true that it is exactly between street and competition trial. But I think there is a bit more Comp. I finally chose this direction. Seat removed, off-road tires, handlebars moved forward, new grips and new Hope brakes. The chain tensioners are bad, but you can live with that. Much worse is the need to check and tighten all components before each training session. It is ideal to glue all threaded connections. Including center axle, pedals, cranks, brake calipers, discs... It's a good bike for a good price and I definitely recommend this bike.

      Great call for sure! We just took the bike out for a ride this past weekend and had to tighten everything, just like you said (even the discs!) - I think once the bike has settled in, it will be a solid option for the guy who is riding it. He's coming from a 1998 GT Mod Bike, so this is a big change!

    I snagged one of these used back in December. I've only been able to get some short basement rides on it other than one 10-minute session in a parking lot. But from the inside rides, it's a great little bike. It has some similar geo to my Echo 24" Mark II comp bike, but the key differences are the 20mm lower bb and 13mm longer chainstays. As a result, it's not a much of a pogo stick like the Echo, but it is still very controllable on the rear for stationary hop and pedal kicks.
    I'm running the bars dead vertical since I aim for this to be more of my "street" 24" bike since I already have the Echo 24" comp. The Jitsie seems to manual well from the short tests and as a decent balance for me. With my basement rides, I'm doing mostly balance and precision tire placement drills, and this is a blast for that, even with the vertical bars. I suspect rolling them forward to match the stem angle will make rear wheel and front pivot move quite easy, with a sacrifice in manuals and bunny hops as you mention.
    I love the dual disc setup for quiet riding inside vs my Echo with the rear HS brake and ground rim. This sure seems like a solid "all-around" and can be tipped either way depending on rider preference. It's a safe bet as far as I can tell and I look forward to getting outside once we get some spring weather here. Can't wait to see you guys out on yours and hear your feedback too. :D

      I'm on the same page...so ready to take bikes outdoors again! Soon enough...
      Super interested to hear how you go with the bike - we just had our first session this past weekend with it (video coming out tomorrow) and it's definitely a solid option. Our buddy Travis just upgraded from a 1998 GT Mod bike, so this is a big change for him. I think he'll probably tip comp style as well...but I'm tempted to roll the bars back and attempt some bunnyhops and street stuff on it. Either way, should be fun!

    You mentioned breaking in the disc brakes. I’ve met a few beginners who had no idea that it needed doing nor what to do. Once shown (and deafened by the howling) they were surprised how much better the brakes felt. Perhaps this is worth a short video?

      Great call - I did a Short about breaking in brakes, but probably not a bad idea to do a full length at some point!

    Internets say it has Shimano MT400. I recently got Shimano MT200. I saw the similar brake levers so cheched out. And I was pretty disappointed with MT200. First of all I have to (as we say) dance with tambourine to install the front one properly. In about 2 weeks I found out it doesn't hold the wheel. At about same time I noticed the rear brake's pads touches the disc from both sides... indoors. While outdoors they went off a bit. Kinda like the fluid inside reacts to temperature (it's minus of Celcium outside). The rear one kinda holds me on jumping, but it slips a bit every now and then. It's a bit scary and (maybe more important) makes me put more force to pedal kicks. So after a month of suffering I removed them and returned back Avid BBs. Though they don't rubbed to (or on) pretty well now, I fell much more grip and confidence.

      We've been riding with it a fair bit the past month, it seems like a solid ride so far. We've made a few minor tweaks, but ultimately it's a solid all-around bike for someone getting into the sport. Definitely worth your consideration!

    I almost got a used one of these recently, it had the brake hose through the steerer tube for spins and whips and had better brakes. I ride 20" comp at the moment and I built a 26" dirtjumper with double brakes for some trial and I thought the Jitsie would be a cool compromise. But I don't think you are allowed in trial competitions with this wheel size?

      The bike's geometry a solid mix of everything and would certainly be a good progression from a dirt jumper. Most trials events aren't too strict when it comes to what bike you bring - especially if you're just getting started. Worst case, they'd have you compete against the 20" wheel riders - but I would be shocked if they didn't let you compete with 24" wheels.

      As Aaron mentions, many comps these days are more open due to very low participation numbers, so they group all "trials" bikes together regardless of wheel size. IMO, this would be great and work nearly identical to the comp 24" bikes.
      If a comp group wanted to follow the UCI rules precisely, this bike would be in the 26" wheel class per the following statement:
      - 18” to 23” nominal (overall) wheel size shall be permitted in 20” class.
      - 24” to 26” nominal (overall) wheel size shall be permitted in 26” class.

    I like the idea of these bikes. Only problem if you want to commit to comp style riding is that all 24" tyres are crap :( Fine if you just ride street but if you want to ride rocks etc. the tyres available just aren't suitable. Thin sidewalls which puncture easily when riding lower pressures and hard compound rubber. Compared with the awesome tyres available for 20 and 26 which are super grippy and don't puncture easily, this was the reason for me selling my echo 24". Otherwise the bike was great!

      I have found that the Maxxis DHF in the 3C Maxx Terra EXO casing is a great 24" rear tire. Maybe a tad heavy, but the rubber grip is outstanding and the casing bounce and resistance to pinch is much better than the stock Kenda Kinetic that my Echo 24" came with stock. The Maxxis Minion DHRII and Schwalbe Hans Dampf are also worth a look. I have a Rocket Ron on front that is also solid and improved over the stock Kenda Small Block 8 stock tire. Not a ton of options, but these are decent and worthwhile for any 24" comp riders.

      I have this bike and ride mostly competition style. The tires are. There is a narrower selection of them, but it is possible. Rear Maxxis Minion DHF 24x2.4" Kevlar, front Schwalbe Rocket Ron Performance Addix 24x2.10". Ideal combination, very functional. 👍

      @@Chader9 I had a hans dampf and to be honest I thought it was terrible! I punctured it fairly often and even in the dry it wouldn't grip to smooth rocks. On cambers the side knobbles folded and slipped. I cut them down and it improved it a fair bit but still not great. I did get lucky and find an old stock maxxis swamp thing in super tacky compound from eBay a couple of years before. It was impossible to puncture and was ok grip was ok but not even close to the grip of clean koala or jitsie tyres!

      @@cendaracing sadly the new minion tyres weren't available when I sold it. I did use the rocket ron on the front and again it was ok as a last resort but compared to the tyres I had on my 20 it wasn't great. Only if Jitsie made their tyres in 24"! If they did then the 24" comp bikes would be super popular in my opinion.

    Ok I've lost count, how many bikes are in the shred spot now?
    That certainly looks like an interesting bike, stoked to hear what you think about it after more riding, the more affordable bike models of decent quality that appear on the market, the lower the barrier of entry for the sport!
    Also, well played Jitsie on the 100mm riser bars, I could tell from the first shot of it that this bike had passed the super rider high rise test!

      Ha! One in, one out - we just shipped the TMS to its new owner!
      At first glance I think this is going to be a great option for a lot of newer riders. Remains to be seen on the brakes…but overall, you could definitely learn every trials technique relatively easy on this bike, whereas some bikes make it harder to learn specific moves (lunges on street bikes come to mind).

    I just got one of these last week! Couldn't decide between the 20",24" Street and 26" comp and got it second hand. Brakes are a bit crap and yeah first few hours the bars were in every position but removed ha ha!

    Never seen this bike a 26" would be sweet! Is it steel?
    I ride K-rads for the price point, nice tires.
    PS: The Shimano's will disappoint or snap at the caliper.

      Aluminum frame and fork. And something I have noticed already, so I would be interested to hear Aaron's thoughts...
      but I actually think this bike will accept a 26" disc brake wheelset. The fork is the same exact one on the 26" trials bike, so will clear the 26" fine. From my review of the rear end on my Varial Hybrid (notably the 370mm chainstay), I think there is enough room to slip in a 26" wheel. From what I can see, this might be convertible into a 26" setup with disc to make a 26" hybrid too.
      I just received my 26" Jitsie Varial comp bike and plan to at least slip the rear wheel into the Hybrid frame despite not being disc brake hubs. I do expect that there could be a clearance issue with the seat, so it may need an odd nose-down angle or to be removed entirely.

      You're right about the quality of the shimanos. I have this bike and the rear caliper snapped pretty quickly.
      Ended up getting a MT7 on the rear with Jitsie pads and that seems to be doing a solid job.

      Pretty good, actually...definitely need to spend a bit more time with it, but it's a healthy mix between the different riding styles.

    Interested to see how this goes! That's a bike I've been curious about for a while now, myself. Would be sweet if they built a 26" version. I'd love a Hex, but man they're spendy.

      Someone was saying in the comments that you could fit 26" wheels into this frame...we may have to test that out next time we ride! So far so good with the bike, though - today's (new) video has some actual riding footage with the bike...and plenty more to come!

      My friend has been riding this bike since we built it (here) - it’s a fun (and functional) bike to ride…he’s modified it to almost every possible setup at this point and has been having a blast with it. Great bike to have if you’re not sure what your exact riding style is going to be, you can try everything and it works well no matter how you have it set up.

    I'd argue with "affordable price". Here in my place a thousand USD (or pounds) is a pretty nice monthly salary. Which I dont' have. 8-D I got my (used) street trial Because color for about 400 dollars. And even that price isn't that anyone can pay.

      While that is true, there are really no similar spec options at lower price until you step into the used market. Then consider that higher spec bikes are often double or more compared to this (especially in the street category).
      So in that sense, this is a fair price for a new bike, even if it won't fit everyone's budget. For those with less to spend, used is the only real option.

      Just wanted to notice that economics around the world isn't the same and what's usual for a one can be out of limits for others. Let's say we have cheap food. 8-D

      @@АлександрМортис-к9п not sure what country you are in, but there are plenty of retailers in Europe that sell the Jitsie's in Euro and some other currencies too. It may be that those offer a better exchange rate if you are on something other than the Euro. Main point that despite USD mentioned in this video because of the intended audience, there are MANY options out there to review. But in the end, this is still a brand new bike and the pricing comments I made above still apply. For those people with a more limited budget, used market is still likely the best option, regardless of currency exchange rates.

    So looks like now we have different types of street trial bikes. That's confusing.

      Street Trials bikes are a category that contains bikes with a range of wheel sizes and geometry. Generally shorter wheelbase and lower bottom bracket than a typical comp bike.
      But there is a real range of geometries that feel and ride differently. So people can review that data and choose what works best for them. Add in wheel size options and you get a wide range of setups even though they are all Street Trials bikes.

      @@Chader9 Here in my place there is an important difference between "street" and "street-trial". Let's say Inspired is a street-trial. While DC Pussy (I have) or NS Capital are street ones. They have shortest stems (50 mm or even 40), may have suspension fork and have about neutral bottom bracket.

      @@АлександрМортис-к9п Well, now you are talking about street in the context of 26" wheeled mountain bikes. In the US and elsewhere, we commonly call these Dirt Jump or MTB Street bikes. Considering the context of the video and all the other stuff that the Super Rider YT channel covers, these most commonly cover TRIALS related bikes. So my comment above about "street" implies Street Trials, not Street MTB like the models you mention.
      I figured the general Trials context was a given , so didn't include that specifically, but that is what I was discussing, not MTB based models. Different bikes and use cases, even if "street" is a common term. (PS, I edited my comment above to clarify my comments with respect to Street Trials, not any other type of "Street" bike.)
