    Looks like you had a fun ride on the tms silex!
    Almost as much fun as you were having building it!
    Stoked to see that new torque wrench getting a workout.

      That was a fun (and easy!) one to build, for sure! Glad to finally have my hands on a proper torque wrench - no bar slips on the first ride!

    Still looking forward to the full riding review on this. I'm still waiting for mine to arrive so I can get back into trials after about 15 years away from it, fingers crossed it'll be here this week, if not, next week. Please take it to a pile of rocks as I'd like to try a comp at some point on mine as not really in a position to own multiple bikes. Keep it up, thanks.

      The pull bolts for the chain tensioners weren't in the box. I can't lock the rear wheel in place.

      @@deostryker8383 Strange - I'll look in the warehouse. They should still be on the axle bolts (they are pretty small) - but I'll look again to see if they dropped out somehow.

    This is also a great explanation for beginners for how a lot of parts on the bike work. I’m very interested in seeing a long term review of these steel bikes, especially how strong the components are. Any chance you’d bring them to Bentonville?

    • @SuperRiderTV
      @SuperRiderTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! Not sure I'd bring this one to Bentonville...but it's possible? Ideally I'll have a TMS comp bike for that trip...fingers crossed!

    Love the clear black finish. Looks short like a bmx, I'd need a 200mm stem :)

    • @SuperRiderTV
      @SuperRiderTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Spot on - it feels like a BMX in many ways, but somehow slightly more stable. Anxious to get some more time riding it!

    Wow this is cool. Last time it was carbon and this time steel. The color could be a little bit louder, though. Can't wait to hear the impression.

    It would be cool to see a longer term review. I had one as my first bike and the paint started flaking really quick. Id like to know whether this is a normal issue or just me. Other than that it served me well for 2 years.

    • @SuperRiderTV
      @SuperRiderTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For sure - anxious to properly ride this bike and get comfortable on it. I'll keep an eye on the paint, although this bike is just clear coated, so it may not happen at all. Will keep you posted!

    I’m tempted to get the 26” Silex or the Hex for trials and some mtb technique stuff. Thoughts? The Silex looks sooo good and as an old (OLD) skool freestyle bmx guy the crmo frame gives me a fuzzy feeling 😊

    • @SuperRiderTV
      @SuperRiderTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great call for sure! Especially with that BMX background, I think you’ll feel surprisingly comfortable on the Silex!

  • @schildster
    @schildster 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    As a brand you can pretty much spec your components from the supplier with logo or decals and it’s all made in the same factory in Taiwan

    • @SuperRiderTV
      @SuperRiderTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True - but when your name is on it, you're extra responsible for how well it works. I think it's a bold move, it means that you trust the quality of that part more than just spec. What do you think?

    • @schildster
      @schildster 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SuperRiderTV quite often the spec you want isn’t available or in the configuration appropriate for the complete build (from talking to a friend with an mtb co.). The logos are a bit distracting when the backbone of the industry is reliable manufacturers overseas. I prefer matching components but that gave me reservations about something as practical as swapping a carbon bar for lowering my stem and substituting a different alloy riser.

    • @SuperRiderTV

    One year later what are your thoughts? I'm curious bcz in France there are a lot of criticism about TMS bike... thanks a lot

    • @SuperRiderTV
      @SuperRiderTV  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Honestly, someone bought this bike two weeks after I posted this video. I only got to ride it for a little while. It's hard to have a trials bike company, anywhere in the world, so I have a lot of respect for the effort.

    • @jeanguy977
      @jeanguy977 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@SuperRiderTV by chance do you remember having the same feeling as the arcade? I'm looking for a steel street and the silex is much cheaper than the arcade so I wonder if I should buy the silex. If you remember the feeling between those 2 steel bike or if you hear anything I'd be happy. Thx a lot

    • @SuperRiderTV
      @SuperRiderTV  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jeanguy977 Very similar. The spec on the TMS was slightly different, and I think it felt a little bit shorter and steeper. I still had a great time on the bike, though. I don't think it was too noticeable of a difference.

    Great choice, TMS bikes are way better than overrated Inspired.

    • @cascaderetriever7618
      @cascaderetriever7618 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Inspired makes a great bike, but I agree that they are overhyped and overpriced. They spend a lot of $$ on marketing. This TMS is a bit heavier than the Aluminum 4play. I love the TMS he just got.

      Bit harsh?

    • @SuperRiderTV
      @SuperRiderTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm pumped on this bike, for sure. I think Inspired deserves the credit for blazing a trail for other trials manufacturers to follow - especially for street trials. That said, I'm happy to see other brands coming in to the space, with legit offerings that are on the same level as Inspired. The more, the merrier!

    Did you break in freewheel before pedal kicks?

    • @SuperRiderTV
      @SuperRiderTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much! I did roll around on it for a while before the pedal kicks began - but didn't want to push it too hard on the first ride. After rolling on it, I don't know how many pedal kicks I'll do - it seems like rolling moves will be the best way to utilize this bike/geometry.
