      So you just sit on your keister and wait for "actions" from the speaker. Did he bring you into this world, or are you still a baby that has to be spoon-fed?
      The speaker's purpose is to ginger you into taking the "action" as a responsible adult, a rational human being.
      The job of a leader is to SHOW THE WAY, not to sweep your front yard for you or otherwise do for you those things you ought to do for yourself.,'nuff said.

      So what action did you want him to take, is he a government or public official? His was a motivational talk to have your likes "get with it" and elect credible leaders, instead of rulers whose only interest is to get their hands on the public till.
      He claimed Awolowo was not a Yoruba but a "Nigerian" (first). Well that's quite debatable as a sampling of the concerted opinions of non-Yorubas, particularly Igbos, might be able to attest to. There's absolutely no doubt that he was great for the Yorubas, and I'm not stating this as a minus on his character and legacy. 'nuff said.

      @aneke68 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      What do you mean talk is cheap? Talk is not cheap but senseless comment is cheap. If what he's saying is of no value he won't be invited to speak and this video is not a campaign speech so understand and focus on his message. There are lots of people who gained insight at that moment and more people will still watch him, you don't have to understand him but be respectful of people who may need that information or who can connect with what he's saying. Why do people derive joy in putting others down? Even if you don't like him make a reasonable comment. People that says that talk is cheap most of the time has nothing meaningful to say than to make nonsense of what someone is saying. Next time give reasons when you make statement like "talk is cheap" because it is a cheap comment anybody can make.

      He made this speech in 2014 and this has nothing to do with his political ambition. I am sorry for your poor empty mind! you can listen to learn something but bitterness will not let you to understand the simple message he shared. Your comment is thoughtless and not quite responsive, as this is a persuasive speech based on good values he want people to embrace.

      @mrbennett 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Only a naive, ineffective person thinks talk is so cheap that anyone who has the power to move people with his words into right action should remain quiet. This kind of talk is not cheap. Some people are just too intellectually bankrupt to afford understanding.

    • @aneke68
      @aneke68 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mrbennett well said! They're too big to learn and appreciate anything of value. Proud people will always complain about everything and criticize others in order to feel good. One may not like or know him but if the message is of a good purpose one need to respect that. It's not cheap because it has values. I hope we will start to value good information, this can help anyone at anytime. Stay blessed Emmanuel ✌

    Please my people let's be honest and sincere with ourselve .
    Because there is no harm in choosing of role model or a figure mentor if yes ???? all the insults on Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
    And to does people saying that awolowo killed igbo's children they should have a rethink, in anything suchlike war anything can happen just to save and win the war , that doesn't mean you are a criminal.
    Secondly Awolowo will not wait until BIAFRA army enter into YORUBA territories before looking for solutions.
    However, and how come my igbo bro 's calling Awolowo a traitor after many of them had already enjoyed free education that was created by Awolowo's party 'AG, in western region.
    More so he also created first Television station in Nigeria and first in Africa.and so many more things that non of his contemporary premier of any other three regions in Nigeria can't achieved.
    It's a pity that many of us failed to be a good student of history yet many of us refused to search for piece, love and unity of this country.
    Late chief senator Emeka Ojukwu said and I quote, Chief Obafemi Awolowo was the best president Nigeria never had. Precisely in 1987 in ikene in Nigeria, home town of Awolowo
    And Chief Ninamdi Azikiwe was very very alive by that time, and my question is why Ojukwu not decided to say that in honour of his late bro from same Igbo land .

    • @ukoparah
      @ukoparah 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ojukwu's epitaph on Awolowo: "The best president Nigeria never had" is not a compliment. It is a two-edged word. It is more of an indictment than a compliment. You need to interrogate why Awolowo became the best president Nigeria never had.

      Yes, because he was the Premier of Western Region. When he campaigned in the East to be President, they said No, the prefer Shagari. So you are right, he can only govern the interests of where he has political power.

      @@Foresythe I think you're being a bit intellectually mischievous, and I'm sure you knew better!
      @Uche Opara was not indicting Mr Awolowo's tenure as Western Region premiere, but his actions and/or inactions when he had national constituency (as Federal Commissioner for Finance) lent credence to Mr Opara's view.
      As I wont to say, if I were Yoruba I would also worship Awolowo as he almost singlehandedly put them at the economic commanding heights of the geographical space called "Nigeria".
      I'm curious, by the way, as to the correlation of your name with that of the great Biafra lover the British journalist Frederick Forsyth. Are you for real, or was that an expensive prank by you? 'nuff said.

      @Foresythe 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@emekaezeokoli1287 No pranks here. I am sure you can relate to my comment. He lost elections in the Eastern region and states. The SE’s preference for Northern coalition and candidates remains a topic for extensive research. You are right about Awolowo who believe the Yorubas as a nation and should be governed as such with its interests at the fore. It is where you have and hold political power that you can position it for development.

      @oladman9058 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What’s wrong with that. He was Premier of Western Region and not any other region or Nigeria at large. If every leader loved their people as Awolowo loved his people, Nigeria would be a better nation today. Don’t berate Awolowo for loving his people. Your attack should be at those who failed their people.

By aligning with the Arewa North in the Nigeria-Baifra War and providing the intellectual and brainpower in the prosecution of the northern-led war.Awolowo constructed, politically, the foundation of Hausa/Fulani political domination of Nigeria and enslavement of the non-Hausa-Fulani ethnic nationalities.
