- Kansas football has been a perennial dumpster fire over the last decade, but so far in 2022, the Jayhawks are 4-0 with three good wins. They have a hot shot coach, a big time QB and a winning culture, but how did this happen? Today we are going to talk about the rise of Kansas football, enjoy!

I’ve always had love for Kansas considering I started watching college football in the historic 2007 year. I know the remaining schedule is very difficult, but no matter what I’m enthusiastic to see Kansas football have respectability again👍

The 2007 Kansas Jayhawks season is one of the best College Football stories ever. It was just special. I’ve never forgotten how exciting it was to have the Jayhawks in serious contention for the National Title. Unbelievable. I might be the only Jayhawks football fan out here in California.
If,KU can have the liberty ball officials ref all their 2023 games. They could go undefeated. Because Arkansas killed them.
I Was living in Vegas at that time. No Ku fans there and NO ONE believed in them. Worked out well though, I made SO MUCH MONEY (For a college student) betting on KU that year.😂😂 I remember Reesing in 06 and knew there was something special there. I think something special is brewing again. 😏
My (former) best friend went to Kansas for a couple years and I remember last year he kept telling me about how they're gonna be really good soon and their quarterback was the truth and we even recorded a couple podcast episodes where he talked about that and was adamant that they'd be really good when no one believed him. Damn guess he was right LOL
I said in the April Fools video on Kansas that it would've been funny if a bunch of three or four star recruits went to Kansas for the memes and be ranked Top 25. They got 2/3 boxes checked; they got some good recruits, their team has been a meme before the season, and they're on their way to a Top 25 for as long as they keep winning the next couple weeks.
This does put a smile on my face.

As a fan The way they finished the year last year, i new they were going to be much better this year, but they have far out performed what i expected this season, and figured this kind of success was at least a year away

Good to see they're no longer the "bye week" everyone use to book them as..got to do it consistently now kansas..stay on the grind.
Small correction: Charlie Weiss was fired mid season after losing to Texas in 2014. Clint Bowen was the interim head coach for the rest of that season. With Bowen as the coach, they came very close to having the upset of the year against TCU; who had playoff aspirations.
I feel like every 10 years or so Kansas ends up having a great season, then we forget about them until the next time.

We will be undefeated this year and defeat Alabama by 70 points, thats how good we are, heck we could even beat the Cheifs right now
I was at Arrowhead for the KU vs. Mizzou game in 2007. If you were there, you can probably remember how cold and miserable that day was for KU fan but it all worked out great for us that year. Best year ever.

Expectations for the year for me were 3 wins and 4 was more than I could ask for. At this point as long as they are competitive then I’m happy as a fan. Rock Chalk

What Leipold has done at Kansas is nothing short of incredible! Not just on the field but in recruiting as well! Cannot be easy getting into battles against teams like Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, etc...
After just week 3 I had Kansas ranked I’ve believed in this team from the start and now me and my dad want them to do super good, Rock Chalk, Jayhawk!

I’m a KU grad. I realize they are 4-0 and have some very good talent on the team this year... but can we not jump the gun until they have made it at least halfway through conference play. If they win 7 games this year I will be very surprised and if/when they do I’ll eat my words 🤷🏼♂️. The sunflower showdown should at least be competitive this year 🤘🏽.

Rock Chalk! I’m already so happy with this season. I know they have a shot to win any game if they play well. A bowl game is almost certain and who knows what else could happen if the chips fall just right. Lance has these boys cookin and the teamwork and love for each other is sure to mean good things for the future.

I had no idea they hired Lance from Buffalo. Goes to show how much I been paying attention to Kansas football. But I’m very excited for them, I cheer for all the Midwest schools. I remember that 2007 season that was my Sr Year in High School. Far as them being rank. They’re probably not worried about it. All they have to do is keep winning

This was not impossible and many consider this to be expected! Your right about Leipold. Kansas fans believe he’s the guy. Kansas has an underrated offense with Daniels, Neal, and Arnold. The defense isn’t bad either and safety Kenny Logan is a projected 1-2nd round draft pick.

I remember playing NCAA Football 05 Dynasty with my cousins and we all decided to pick either a 2 or 3 star team in which 15yr old me chose Kansas only because I wanted to try to get the football team on the same level as Kansas basketball team but my dream never came true 🤣🤦♂️😂 we played on Heisman which had schools like Southeast Missouri state State playing like a power 5
I am originally from Jefferson, Wi, hometown of Lance. I am a bit older than Lance. His father was one of my high school coaches and teachers. Lance has been successful at all levels. His father was an excellent coach, person, and teacher.

Kansas, like many of the better G5s, is benefiting from the free covid year that’s allowing fringe players that one extra year to gel. P5 powerhouses are on the 3 year cycle of recruiting because they have to be due to NFL draft rules, while the Kansas’ of the world are on a 5 year right now. It is great to see.

Lance made it possible to Believe again. I'm so glad the players buy in. The best part of having week 2 and 3 on the road is it gave time for the fans to buy in to. We want a bowl so bad.
Also, the way Daniels talks about playing "Kansas" football... we never talk like that. That's a basketball phrase. The expectation of excellence for the team on the hardwood. I'm so glad our football team is turning "kansas" style football into a winning style.

I like the look of Kansas’s offense a lot and I love watching them play. My only worry is that their defense gives up a lot of points and doesn’t have many big play makers. Regardless, with that beast of a QB as a Freshman they have a bright future and a big year will definitely help stars want to sign with them. If they aren’t a Top 10 team this year then I think they definitely will be next year.

If I was a KU fan I wouldn’t want another Border War game. Why do anything to help Mizzou? Let them deal with the rigors of the SEC on their own. Focus on KState and other rivals that didn’t completely turn their back on KU.

The head coaching hires weren’t all meant to work. Mangino and our AD did not get along together, and the AD wanted any reason to get rid of him, and wheb he poked a player, that was all he needed. We had Jim Harbaugh locked up but our AD told him he wasn’t allowed to coach his bowl game, so he didn’t take the KU job. I forgot who it was, but I’m pretty sure Beaty was a purposeful fail hire, because our AD knew he was going to be out pretty soon.
No matter how suck our football I am still loyal to Kansas. Hopefully will see a better in the future so we can give a middle finger those who doubts the future of the big 12 football program.
Lance Leipold is the truth. Absolutely had Buffalo firing on all cylinders. Follow that guys history as a coach and this is no wonder.

KU isn’t my favorite football team. I can’t deny though, that the way KU football has played through their first 4 games, I was not expecting the Jayhawks to be 4-0. I’m happy for KU football. What is it about that coach and his scheme that has turned around a team that in my 47 years I can't remember when they had a good team. I'm sure they had a couple but I only think of them as a basketball school. But this coach and QB combination seems like lightning in a bottle. A perfect combination of coach and athlete like Belichek and Brady.

The truth is Jalon Daniels is crazy good at college ball. This reminds me of Johnny Manziel and his effect on TAMU.
Lance is a great coach, but you don't turn around Kansas without a ridiculous player at QB. I usually don't judge coaches until they can do something like this without the ridiculous QB factor.

I grew up a huge Kansas State fan and went to school there, played in the marching band. It seems like my whole life KUs been garbage at football. Unlike most KSU fans, I am extremely happy to see KU having success in football. I rly like Lawrence and have a cousin who goes to KU, hope they have a successful season (but I hope KSU wins the sunflower showdown lol). Just so happy to see Kansas teams at the top of the big 12 and OU and Texas at the bottom 😌. Lot of season left though, big 12 is going to be so competitive.
