This was a great piece. Kansas is the best storyline to the season so far IMO. Whatever happens the rest of the season, I'm happy KU has a football program they can be proud of.

They played Iowa State pretty tough, obviously caught some breaks (ISU's kicker missing 3 of 4 FG) and their defense rose to the occasion several key times during that game. TCU has a powerful offense, no doubt, but their defense isn't as strong as ISU's. I say it's another close game and 50/50 on the result.
They really are everyone’s team. I don’t think anyone outside the big 12 has negative feelings towards Kansas. We are rooting for you!

Literally had tears in my eyes when KU blocked a kick and returned it for a TD against Tennessee Tech. I have watched so many KU teams struggle to lose by 30 or less. At the moment that kick was blocked, I knew this team was not one of those teams.
As an Oklahoma State fan, I like Kansas! I hope they continue to do really good in the Big 12!
Been a KU fan my whole life. Never thought I would be able to witness some wins again. Last time our team was this good I was 12. RCJH!!

I think I am like Parker. I am a KU fan first, but a Big XII fan after that. I want strength in the conference for football and basketball so when a team in the conference has a great year there aren't people saying, "yeah but the Big XII sucks as a whole".

@@brycelandon6387 NOW...the Jayhawks REALLY have to prove their worth in college football. 5 & 0 is an excellent start, but the true test of the schedule is dead-ahead. TCU toyed with Oklahoma on Saturday and they're coming into Lawrence for a showdown with KU. ESPN will be there for College Football Saturday and it will be a National show, which will help KU's football program in just about every possible way. So with the National spotlight on them, they'll need to play one of their best games of the season vs the Horned Frogs. I LOVED the fact that Scott Van Pelt was wrong in predicting that KU would lose to Iowa State. I think he'll think things through a bit more before he says anything like that again. Keep it up Jayhawks! R-C-J-H-KU!

I know that we, Kansas fans, truly appreciate all of the non-Kansas fans' well wishes...not for the sympathy it my imply...but because of the strength it reveals, in those we compete against. Those with the strongest, most serious competitive spirit, who are the most secure in themselves, have the capacity to wish good things to those they are in competition with, without being diminished themselves. Ultimate competitiveness includes a proportionate understanding that your rivals have similar goals as you have. If you can't see the capability in someone else, it's because you, yourself, don't have it. God Bless You All.

They remind me of Indiana from a couple years ago. Both are historic basketball schools with struggling football programs. Maybe Kansas can keep it rolling unlike Indiana.

They are top in scoring because they are playing the bottom for defense. Let’s see what happens today and that is a reality check for if this is a legit team. If the team they play sucks, why should we care about them winning.

Ehh...while yes, you're right, I agree with you (and being a Kansas fan, humble is the name of the game)...It's more of the eye test; the way they've played, how they look doing it is what people are impressed by, and not just by comparison, or "for a Kansas team". How the athletes look, themselves, individually, then their execution, collectively, is very strong, on its own. But, anyone getting ahead of themselves is foolish, at the very least.
Miles' team only won 3 that season. And they weren't consecutive wins.

C'mon KU.....you've played a B team schedule who have a combined record of 12-12. Play a real schedule. Cupcakes Tennessee Tech and Duke. Get real. Iowa State is 3-2. And WVU is way down. 3 of KUs wins are against teams with losing records.
And guess what? We would’ve lost all those games last year. We have not had more than 3 wins the entire season since 2010. Were 5 - 0 now. No one is saying we’re unstoppable, but we’ve caught fire like we never have before. Rock Chalk!
This is more about Kansas just winning in general, last year they would have been 1-4 or maybe even 0-5. Being 5-0 and even going 5-7 is a great thing for the program and that’s what this is all about.

Well, regardless of what happens from here on in, they've got the 5 part of that equation now. But somehow I just can't see them losing 7 in a row.
So, ku is 5-0 and 2-0 in conference play. Ku still has to play out, Texas, Baylor, ok state, and big brother ksu. Lol. Enjoy being 5-0 bandwagon fans. Bandwagon fans probably never knew where the ku football stadium was or the name of the football stadium that ku plays in until this season. Congrats on moving up from the fcs level talent that ku had for almost last 27years or so lol.

A local high school who’s notoriously trash started 3-0 and finish 4-6. The same will happen to Kansas.
