Almost every mon definitely does not fear Lando. Lando can do a lot of things (which is why it's super popular) but it also has a lot of common weaknesses that would be common with or without its existence.
DrPumpkinz very true, usually out speeding it (which isn’t hard at all if it’s not running choice scarf) and targeting its not so stellar spdef will definitely get the job done. Even a neutral special attack can mess it up pretty hard if strong enough and many pokemon specifically gen 7 have the capability of doing so. (That or hitting it hard enough on the physical side that its intimidate won’t save it)
Dark/Steel is such a hardcore typing. Fitting for the edgelord mascot of hyper offense.

Wow, I never realized how many Bisharp placements there were in VGC until now.
I'm pretty sure we had a year in VGC where only pokemons from unova's regional dex where legal
God yes. It was everywhere because of intimidate. It discouraged the hell out of leading with it

Intimidate is a hell of a drug.
@@roccopiosaracino3681 yes, but weirdly enough Bisharp was not so great in that metagame, mainly because of the omnipresence of fighting and the almost total absence of intimidates, since only Krookodile and Stoutland got access to it back then. Se Jun was the one who showed the world what Bisharp could do, defeating Wolfe Glick in swiss (but losing to him in top cut) and since then his usage skyrocketed in vgc13 and 14 even before he got the buffed knock off (which he couldn't use until vgc15)
Update for future viewers:
After all the gen 8 DLC dropped Slowking, Slowbro, and Slowking Galar all became OU and their regenerator-teleport shenanigans ruled the tier for a while. Eventually Bisharp became OU by usage as a counter and pushed Slowking into UU. Bisharp is currently comfortable at about 8% usage in OU doing its normal Bisharp things. It hard counters the two most used mons in the tier (Lando-T and Dragapult) and can sweep teams easily with a little bit of U-turn and hazard support.

About time we saw a good Pokémon. The fact that Bisharp’s video is over 30 minutes long and Fearow’s is under 10 really shows the difference in viability
We got Keldeo two weeks ago and Keldeo is better than Bisharp.
I read ferrathorn instead of fearow and my first reaction was "wtf? Ferrathorn not good?" And then my thought was "WAIT WHAT??? WHY HAVE FERRATHORN?? HOW COULD I MISS THAT VIDEO??"

@@lyg483 Nope. Sucker Punch and Mach Punch are both +1 priority and it boils down to the user's base speed. But most mach punchers can survive a sucker punch that isn't highly boosted even if they're slower and Bisharp isn't a fan of fighting attacks due to quad weakness.
Also, sucker punch will fail if the opponent gets in their attack (via increased priority like e-speed or outspeeding + priority) before you do. Mach Punch, on the other hand, has no such problem.
You know, for a Pokémon with a not so high stat total, Bisharp is a complete and utter beast!
I think that even with a low BST, due to the nature of Pokémon (aka Specialist are usually gonna be better than generalists) as long as those stats are used correctly then a Mon can still be good while having a low BST.

Bisharp is literally the best partner for sticky web.
If the opponent magic bounces the webs, Bisharp always gets +2 on switch in. If the opponent defogs the webs, Bisharp can switch in for a free +2. If the opponent leaves the webs, Bisharp now outspeeds a lot of pokemon.
defiant does not activate if magic bounce bounces your own sticky web back, as it counts as you dropping your own speed

@@beanslinger2sticky web doesn't drop your speed immediately, it drops your speed when you switch in. and either way the game treats magic Bounce as the user using the move, that's why using parting shot on Hatterene forces it to switch, and why reversing sticky webs still boosts your attack
Can confirm. I played a ton of web hyper offense back in gen 7, it was a great time. I ended up using shuckle as my web setter.

instead of using sword dance you can just use leer lowering opponents defense then if bisharp faints your next pokemon can still take it out because of the lowered defense better than wasting a sword dance

@@charizardpropaganda no because you OHKO their pokemon then they switch so you still took down their pokemon and you could set up spikes with a sacrificial pokemon before you even use bisharp. Most likely people will use fire pokemon to try beat bisharp so then your next pokemon you switch into is the pokemon that will beat the typing that beat bisharp. So for example they use fire to beat bisharp then you switch into water etc...they beat your water with grass you match that with poison or another type

Blaster .M its mediocre, too fast for trick room, and quite slow for something thats so frail, without its strong typing and sucker punch bisharp would suck, there are pokemon with better stats who are way less competitively viable

I remember using Bisharp on my hyper offense team just to dunk on stall, excadrill would set hazards against magic bouncers, and when they brought their defogger I would bring Bisharp to receive a boost.

The fact triple STAB + coverage sets exist for this thing just shows how good of a typing Dark is. Similar to Yveltal
Dark types are good. Why is else is Weavile good when other Ice types suck, other than being fast like an Ice types have to be?
Dark is a type seldom resisted by other types, and Steel makes up for those resists very well.

This just shows that good abilties, movepool, set up moves and typing could push a pokemon forward much more than stats.
It's why I hate the phrase: "Power creep." It's a fib.

With Kingambit now available in Gen 9, Bisharp can now have an Eviolite (not so sure it will see much use though).

@OP Ground Zero 2.0 it has 125 attack, which is more than suitable for UU, with the extra bulk it can afford to get 2 hit KOs instead of OHKOs
With Eviolit it can have the Sp. Def boost like Assault Vest _and_ is able to use Swords Dance, it's certainly usable~

Seeing all of these VGC trainer’s elite teams looks so cool. Like these trainers were all the mythical Pokémon Champions we grew up dreaming of going up against.
I always hear about placements in my home town from years ago but when I was actively looking for it I couldnt find it to compete for nationals. I wish this info was shared more effectively by the pokemon company so that it's easier for everyone to find the proper venue.

As OP as Bisharp is, I’ve always thought it’d be freaking cool if it got 2 evolutions. Based on Chess pieces too, of course.
Being the queen if it were a female and the king if it were male.
Giving the Queen crazy offensive stats and the King defensive stats and great utility.
