Thanks, Garry! And you're absolutely right. I had it in my notes to mention various other things, like an alignment stick, you can use but somehow left it out. Great catch.
Thanks those are some good ideas i have everything but the chip stick i have those same exact discs too def gonna try this out once i get my simulator setup complete WNY winters are long and cold so i wont be getting out until about may late April if im lucky but ill have my sim setup and def gonna try this out
Hey Ian, you can also use a alignment rod instead of a chip stick. I've even seen people use a screwdriver, believe it or not. Anything you can use to extend the club. But I'm telling you it really works. When I was playing in a golf this this past week my swing was totally off for the first four or five holes, then I imagined having that chip stick connected and it really helped me turn through the shot vs. using just my arms. Shot 2 over from there on out.
I have the tourstick as well, it is really well done. There are cheaper ones out there but I got this Callaway thing as well and it is really solid. One thing to note though - disclaimer, I am not a pro or something I just noted something maybe worth taking another thought or two: I don't think the idea with placing a ball on the disc is the right way to do it. Compression is increased when the ball is "trapped" as long as possible, usually when the ball is hit on a downward trajectory (and in the sweetspot) - the pros achieve that, by having the lowest point of the arc in front of the golf ball (2 to 4 inch). With this disc, you are intending to hit shots where the low point of your arc is indeed exactly where the ball is which wouldn't achieve the conditions you are trying to achieve. I may have a wrong understanding so this is not a "stop what you are doing" post, it is just me noticing something, you might want to think about. Much success on your journey and soon some better weather in Colorado, in Berlin it is getting better already! Have a nice weekend
Hey Matt, thanks so much for your comments! I think the disc is helpful for me in that it helps me come down at a steeper angle in order to move both the disc and the ball. I have a tendency to swing my irons too shallow and often am coming up on my iron shots. But for sure the biggest help for me has been the chipstick. That really helps me turn through the shot and keep the hands ahead. Since working on this my iron game has improved drastically, so much so that the other day I had numerous divots that were in front of the ball. It was something I haven't seen in awhile:) Anyhow, keep the comments coming and God willing I can get to Berlin at some point. Definitely on my bucket list. And keep an eye on this channel, for if you ever get to Colorado there's many beautiful courses I can't wait to share this spring and summer.
Chip stick is great , you can also use an alignment stick! Or even cheaper a garden cane.
Nice video
