This is so beautiful and why people shouldn’t give up on animals when they are babies. They need help and for people to just try. Also, I have a similar problem from a neck injury from abuse from when I was a child. If I bend my head back too far it can just get stuck because I dont have the strength in my muscles I should to lift it up. It definitely has gotten better as I’ve gotten older, but it still happens. So beautiful to see a bird like a duck overcome it.
I had a bird but he didn’t make it he had a neck injury too and we tried everything but he was just in to much pain and we couldn’t help him so the animal rescue we took him too put him down
You should look up the youtube channel "A Chick Named Albert". That guy does a ton of work with birds that you'd never think would make it, he even made a device so he could incubate a duck egg with his own body heat.

Dear crazy bird lady, when I first realized I had clicked onto a video that was about a bird, it was honestly by mistake… It’s in the middle of the night I was trying to download my typical go back to sleep meditation music video but tonight since I don’t have electricity and it’s 30° I’m snuggled up with three cats and I was going to play the live no music fireplace video which I’m about to start but I have to say… When I got near the end and that bird was snuggling up on you all grown up not ever really knowing anything about birds or imagining they would snuggle I realized what a special gift you are and here I am crying. When you realise that being a "crazy animal lady" is everything you ever wanted anyway. I love the idea that you can be so surrounded by such immense love, and yet still be perceived as pathetic and alone... being a crazy old animal lady is a choice some people make because they want to and it is a perfectly reasonable choice to make.

I dont know if I’ll ever share my life with another person, but I will never be alone as long as I have my cats 💞 Nothing wrong with not wanting to have to answer to anyone or fight with someone. After a very bad (abusive) relationship that I wasted 17 of the best years of my life on, I just can’t bring myself to even try it again. My cats are what kept me sane and alive even during all that, with their unconditional love. That’s all I need.

I am unable to create meaningful relationships anymore due to my EDD an it also made me lose many memories as they are attached to emotions which I can no longer express. I use to have 7 dogs. Now I live alone. No animals and no relationships or friendships. I say to each their own

Birds are swarm animals. I would NEVER ever consider to "Just want a goose or a duck ~for me and my momentary badly-developped needs~". Always think in terms of: WHAT ARE THE NEEDS of the animal(s)! I myself daily meet a couple of geese that just runs to me when I come to the shore. In summer they had a kiddy, two other pairs were there with 4 resp. 6 kiddies. All of them (only one pair at time at one place, they just chased away the others) always ran to me when I arrived. I give them food and name them and several actions "Egon, Karla my buddy, my girl, soon you will get F_OOOOO_D... ! They respond so well. I love it. Perhaps you can find a similar joy that leaves he animals still free and within THEIR prefered surrounding!
And I thought I was persistent with my rescues and I see this. It gives me courage to continue even when others think it’s impossible. I am so happy to know there is still people like this in the world and animals being helped
