    Awww I just found your channel- spotted your colour craze shawl and the colours are so pretty!!! And then you used one of my yarns in it!! What a nice lovely surprise!! Absolutely gorgeous!! I’d definitely consider knitting another one too :) ♥️ Happy knitting my friend!

    Amber, I absolutely love recently discovering your podcast. You are such a relaxing person to watch. I have really gotten into Natural Dyeing myself this past summer. I've experimented dyeing with onion skins, avocado, Queen Anne's Lace, yarrow, black beans, acorns, etc. I also knit, spin and weave. Your projects are so appealing. I have subscribed and already told my knitting and spinning friends about your podcast. Thanks so much. Can't wait for Episode 24! Your recently completed shawl is so lovely.

    Thanks for the tip on alkalinity making avocado dye baths more pink. I hadn't heard that before and haven't been impressed with the two avocado dye baths I've tried. I've known I wanted to try again though, and this may be the inspiration!

    Thanks for another lovely podcast - love the subtle colours in your Color Craze shawl! A friend recently introduced me to Tamy Gore's patterns and I've made Kira Cove but not happy with my colour choices - too bright, will be making another in a more subdued tonal palette.

    I have so many Tammy Gore patterns in my favorites. I really ought to cast one on soon. Your shawl is lovely. Hers and Elizabeth Smith's I click on because their aesthetics please me over and over.

    This is my first time "here" and I am so so happy I stopped and watched! Another like-minded person and that makes me so happy We garden, spin, weave, homeschooling, are Believers and love all the fibery-things-and-animals. We only have a about 1 1/4 acres but hope in the future to move onto a larger place to do so much more of what we are feeling lead to do for our family and community's future.

      Nitter Pub Thank you so much! I’m pretty sure I mixed up he order of your TH-cam name. I’m so sorry! I was going to check but then I remembered that my phone might interfere with the microphone. It’s a new microphone so I wasn’t sure. My old mic always made really loud noises if I set my cell phone too close.

    All your projects are beautiful! I love the shawl, the sweaters, socks! Wow! Your knitting skills are top notch, you find the most beautiful patterns to challenge yourself, and you finish them so quickly vis-a-vis homeschooling, housework, vacationing, and filming too! You accomplished so many great projects in such a short amount of time! Amazing!!!
    Have fun in Maine! I love Maine, too! Thinking about relocating there one of these days, hopefully! We don’t always get to go. This year we went as a family vacation. We stayed in an Airbnb in Porter! I never been to Bar Harbour! Maybe in one of these days! Enjoy your getaway Amber!

      A Lovely Yarn Porter is an hour away from Portland. We rented the second floor of a small house. It was quiet, stress free, a shared pool, and grill. Nice deck! I got my knitting mojo back in Porter. I went into the pool for the first time in my life. It was a very nice, necessary getaway. It was a cozy place, cheaper than staying in a hotel and much more relaxing. My daughter found it on Airbnb’s website.

      Yes! I agree. Is very relaxing, like living in nature, fresh air, less humid than NY, less rush, less people smoking, people are nicer, and wonderful food! With the exception of being colder in the winter months than NY, is a win-win place to live!

    Love to see you again! Thanks for taking the time to record another podcast - I was so excited to sit down and listen to you again! We are going to Bar Harbor next summer - my job is taking us on a cruise of the East coast. I am SO excited!! It is a "work" trip - when we are at sea I will be having meetings and working, but when we have port stops we are free to go! So - just a day in Bar Harbor, but I can't wait! I will have to get some ideas for must-dos in a day from you.

    • @alovelyyarn
      @alovelyyarn  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Beth Dekoster Hello Beth! Bar Harbor is an extremely popular port for cruise ships. I will be mindful of some suggestions that you could fit into a day. Do you enjoy hiking at all? There is, of course, a ton of that to do, but there are other things to do as well. Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to say hello!

    • @bethdekoster2434
      @bethdekoster2434 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alovelyyarn Amber - we do like to hike, but we only have a day. So, just not sure - I will make sure to touch bases with you before we go, too. We have a lot of time - it was just super fun to find out that is one of your fave places. I have family in NY and PA (one of my sisters lives fairly close to you - in Glenshaw) but none of them have been up to Bar Harbor! Their loss, it sounds like! Have a great time!!

    • @alovelyyarn
      @alovelyyarn  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Beth Dekoster Yep. Glenshaw isn’t too far from me. 😊 I’ve hiked up Cadillac Mountain with some “cruisers” during past vacations. It’s doable, but you’d probably spend the whole time hiking and not have any time to explore the town or do anything else.

    The little bag is English Paper Pieced and the bit of pattern is from Grandmothers Flower Garden. It is lovely. Here it is still 90+ during the day so fall has not hit. As for the sleeves on the sweater, my daughter loves hers long enough to pull over her hands. The shawl is pretty, good choice of colors. Hope life slows down with the cooler weather. Enjoy the trip!

    I love your shawl! The soft peach and cream colors are very easy on the eyes and I think it really portrays your personality too. I remember the little birds you made in previous episodes. They're so cute! I love listening to you talk about natural dyeing. Reminds me of pioneering women like Caroline Ingalls LOL I would totally watch a drama about pioneering women doing this stuff. It is true that just because it is natural, it doesn't mean it is safe. That's how concubines induce miscarriages in other concubines back in the days...it's like an invisible cause of death. Are you burning something on the mantle? I see a wave of smoke lol My husband was like, "why do you bother commenting? Do these ppl even read or reply?" And I'm like, "Yep, Amber does." LOL
