A Lovely Yarn I live in a little remote town (Port Hardy) situated on the northern tip of Vancouver Island just off the coast of British Columbia Canada. While there are many talented artists living in my area, your videos give me so much inspiration.
What I love about the fall is watching cloud formations because the skies are the most dramatic and perfect to paint in landscapes.
What I like about the fall.....it is a reprieve for me from the sweltering heat of summer on the one side , and then from the freezing cold of winter on the other. I love to take walks with my dogs in the coolness of fall, to look at the golds, oranges and browns of the trees and flora
I am living in Western Canada and it is harvest time...being in the field all day and being able to watch the wildlife is the best

I'm in London Ontario Canada. My favourite thing about the Fall is getting to wear my hand knit socks again! Today will be a high of 64F and rainy. It's gone down the mid 40s at night. I am cozied up with my coffee, woolly socks, and my knitting. 💗💗💗

Hi there, I’m from the West Midlands in the U.K. I love Autumn, the cosy evenings, a candle lit with my knitting by my side. Weekends I enjoy visiting National Trust properties with my family where we’ll walk through the woods, kicking, throwing and collecting the fallen autumn leaves. My young grandchildren love this and a fun way to get them playing outdoors in the fresh air.
Hi from Austria. As a child I used to collect horse chestnuts with my mum on our autumn walks and make little animals. Now my daughter is 1,5 and this autumn we already made a little chestnut caterpillar for her to drag around the house :)
I am in Ontario, Canada, and love the color of the Autumn leaves, pumkins, gourds and enjoying fresh vegetables from the fall harvest. There seems to be such a cozy comfort in making soups & stews when the weather changes to cooler temperatures and nightfall comes early. Of course sitting by a fire and knitting makes all that even better.

I love fall, it's my favourite time of the year. I can break out my cozy fall sweaters and cardigans again, enjoy pumpkin spice lattes and pumpkin spice teas, and I love seeing the leaves change colour. The beauty of knitting or hand crafting garments is you can alter them in many ways. If it is too big for a sweater, steek the front and turn it into a cardigan, place darts or side seams, or pass it along. There are so many options. I love the shawl colors and yarn you talked about.! I am in Texas and my favorite thing about fall is being able to open the windows and let fresh air into my home.
I live in Utah. Right now the canyons and mountains are all ablaze with color! Gold, red and orange. It’s so beautiful! It may seem boring but it’s soooooo lovely! We drive the “loop”. It goes from one canyon on my side of the mountain and goes up and over to the other side. It is breathtaking and always spectacular!!! For sure that’s my favorite thing to do. Fall is too short! I love it so much!!!!

My favorite season is summer, but there are many enjoyable things about fall too - apple crisp, wearing boots and sweaters with my favorite down vest, long walks enjoying the changing colors, the crisp morning air, sleeping with the windows open, flannel sheets, homemade soups and applesauce, backyard campfires, and all things pumpkin!

I live in east Texas and my favorite things about fall are the leaves changing and pumpkin! Pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, pumpkin rolls, pumpkin cookies.. pretty much anything pumpkin lol. And it never seems to get cold enough in the fall but I also love when the weather is cool enough to start a fire. Sitting inside by the fire or outside by a bonfire with a hot cup of something and the current WIP is always great. ☺️🎃🍁🍂☕️🔥🧶

I am in New Zealand and my favourite thing about autumn is that Scottish Country Dancing starts up again after having a break over the heat of summer.
I enjoyed your podcast as always. I live in Southern California. I have fond memories of taking my Grandmother on drives to see the fall colors. As a child I loved raking leaves into a big pile only to jump into them making a huge mess. I taught my son to do the same. Great memories, thank you for reminding me.
Love hearing about what you make for your daughter because I have the same problem. I'm in MO and it is in the 40's and the leaves are changing and falling. My favorite memory of fall is when our children were little and we'd rake leaves and they and the dog would jump into the piles. I remember doing that as a kid too. It made raking the leaves more fun.
I love the cooler weather and the beautiful colors of the trees. A couple of years ago we took my daughter and her friend to a very clever corn maze. It was set up with a map and there were stations within the maze to get ur map validated. It was like an adventure and a race between my husband and I and my daughter and her friend. Of course, the younger minds prevailed!

I'm in Manhattan. We are car-less and walk everywhere. The city is so dynamic that shop windows are always changing. This time of year, they're gearing up for Halloween and orange and black and cats and witches and candy are everywhere. It's especially fun to see the city at night when shops are illuminated from within. I'm a first-time viewer of your podcast. Nice work!

Hi Amber, I am from the south of Germany and love your podcast! I am a fall girl, born in October and love the season although the windy grey rainy weather will also wear me out after 3 weeks... I love to light a fire, drink tea, knit of course and go for long walks if I have the time. Coming home a bit frozen and warm up inside makes me feel really alive.
Hello from Northwest Arkansas. Both of my daughters were in marching band in high school and my older daughter went on to participate in marching band in college. For me, fall means high school football with marching bands and marching band contests. I love watching these kids who have spent so much time and effort practicing their music and their drills and performing amazing halftime shows.

What a lovely giveaway. I live in Arkansas. It’s supposed to be fall, but it’s 93!😖 When fall gets here, my favorite things are bread baking, hiking, and planting bulbs for the spring. I also struggle with fall because I mourn the long days, but I’m also trying to focus on the beauty of the season.

Toronto! My family and I used to go hiking in the fall and enjoy the beautiful colours. Now that my grandparents cannot go, my favourite fall thing to do is to plan ahead for Christmas gift knitting, using the crispness of the air and the wonderful feeling of anticipation as inspiring factors. And of course the colours from nature!
I'm in southern Maine. I really enjoy fall because it gets cooler and the colors of the leaves begin to change. What I really enjoy is going to all of the fairs. Obviously, I like to look in the craft barns and fiber sheds but also love looking at all of the animals. I'm so glad that you had a wonderful time up in Bar Harbor. It is a beautiful place to visit.
I'm in Hendersonville, NC (just outside of Asheville) and one of my favorite fall activities is hiking/camping in the mountains while the leaves are changing, knitting around the campfire, just being outside and soaking up all the beauty before winter. Love your podcast as always, Amber!

I love preparing for fall! In the fall I sit down and plan out my knitting, buy fall teas, and go to fall markets. There are special places in New England we love to visit and I capture the season by photographing our outings. My knit group plans field trips to fiber festivals.

But I love it; the colors, the crisp air, good light, great clouds, the smells; I always welcome fall. The preparation for winter; freezing, canning, pickeling, drying fruit en vegetables. I must have been a squirrel or a hamster in previous life.

I’m from Maine. The town you were mentioning is Belfast. I go there often. My favorite fall activity is walking through the woods with my granddaughter, Olivia, and gathering leaves. We take them home and press them between 2 pieces of waxed paper with some shaved crayons. It is something my family has done since I was a child. We learn all the different trees in our area through identifying the leaves. Beautiful weather and the color is just coming in. Love your podcast. Thanks for sharing

Watching from Scotland, UK. Fall/ autumn is most definitely here. The leaves are beautiful on the trees at the end of my road. My favourite thing to do is to go for walks in forests as the leaves are changing. And I cant wait til my daughter is old enough to make collages with the fallen leaves!

I live in the Bavarian Forest in Germany. In the fall I love to go in the forest and pick mushrooms. My daughter, her horse and our dogs are always with me. We dry the mushrooms by our fireplace and our hole house smells like a big mushroom. Love your podcast.

I am from Malaysia but stay with my children in US for many months a year. My last trip to the US, I was asked by the immigration to not stay too long and not come to the US too many times. I told them I have been going to the US much more recently to help my single mom daughter with 2 kids. I have a valid visa and never overstay. How phobic! This present administration has gone crazy!

Oh my, my favourite things about fall. Well, first of all I live in Southern Ontario so we are well into fall. The leaves are turning colour so it’s a special time to go more North and check that out. We now have a trailer so hopefully we can get to head up there one of these weekends to enjoy the colours, the sounds of crunching leaves on a hike or just sitting by the fire on a cool evening. Another thing is Thanksgiving which is mid October in Canada... time for pumpkin pie, squash soup and turkey dinner with family. And of course Halloween! so many things to love; that’s why it’s my favourite season.

I am in Massachusetts and I'm pretty basic. In fall my favorite things are to help my friends with apple picking, doing bonfire nights, hiking and crunching the leaves, and doing the fall activities at our church. We are planning for our trunk-or-treat on the 27th and I am super excited to be involved. Plus my favorite yarn festival happens at the beginning of November. Not too small and not too big. It's just right. I love going and seeing Spunky Eclectic, Oink Pigments, Once Upon a Corgi, and more. Plus maple cotton candy. Just yum.

We live right in the middle of Tennessee. That means we can get to the mountains pretty easily. When October arrives, my husband and I hike and hammock camp as often as we can. Fall in Tennessee is sublime for both beauty and weather.
Hi, I live in New Brunswick, Canada. I love seeing and taking photos of all the glorious colors of fall, listening to the honking of the geese as they fly overhead in their perfectly formed V on their journey South. I love canning, baking pumpkin muffins, apple pies, and knitting some cozy winter sweathers, shawls, mittens, socks......I absolutely love the fall as our summers here are so humid and hot. Autumn is my favourite time of year because my husband and I celebrate our wedding anniversary every Thanksgiving! We live in British Columbia , Canada. It’s very beautiful this time of year. There are lots of fall colours in the mountains and it’s the perfect time to see the trees fall splendour if your driving up country to our interior or going over to Vancouver Island. Also the surrounding lakes and ocean is very cold, so it becomes more clear and can reflect the surrounding countryside.
Hi, Amber! I'm in Oregon and we have the most beautiful fall season. There are so many great things about fall to me, but one fun thing we do is drive what is known as the "fruit loop". A big loop that takes you up around the beautiful Mt. Hood through the Hood River Valley where there are many apple orchards. You can stop at different farm stands and buy or pick apples. If it is a clear fall day, it is beautiful!
I enjoy your podcasts, and was so happy to see a new one tonight. I am also from Western Pa, so I am ready for some cooler weather. I understand that Friday should bring a change to a more autumnal pattern. After I retired from teaching, I discovered the wonder and beauty of fall. The crisp, cool mornings with the vivid blue sky was a delight for me. When I taught, fall was hectic with new routines to be taught, children to get to know, and my own home routine in the mix. So fall meant more of a frustration time, than the serene time I now find it to be. Apples, gorgeous colors, and fall festivals, such as Ohio’s Christmas in the Woods, highlight my fall loves. Oh, and pumpkin everything...and candles and sweaters, and cozy socks, and fires...I could go on and on. Yes, I love fall. What a beautiful sweater your color work is! Your daughter wore it well! And the No Frills sweater does look soft and cozy. I wish yarn that is soft and gorgeous was more affordable. As a newer knitter, it just seems dangerous for me to spend that much on something I might mess up. I really, really want to make the Farm House shawl. I have mentioned that to you previously, but am putting it on my to do list within a few weeks. I adore yours. All of your knits are so lovely. It's funny, we're very different in many many ways, but there's still something that draws me to you again and again. It's fun to ponder that.
I'm in Utah and we're headed into our first hard freeze of the season tonight. So I've been taking advantage of having the morning off work to run around the garden and harvest all the tomatoes, raspberries, pears, marigolds, potatoes, and corn. Harvest time is such a great part of fall that brings natural decorations with it.
Last weekend was another fall favorite. My husband and I did a beautiful hike and camp out in the mountains near us. The fall colors this time of year are just stunning!
I’m in Broken Arrow Oklahoma where it’s really hot in the summer! Just being outside in the fall is a treat since in summer we run from air conditioner to air conditioner. Fall is antiquing, sweater knitting, football and bowls of chili! My favorite season.

I live in Kentucky. We like to rake up leaves and then play in them. There are many local craft shows and bazaars that are fun to attend with my daughters in law.

I live in Tustin, California. The fall isn’t very obvious here as far as the colors are concerned, although the days get darker sooner and the weather cools down at night. My way of celebrating fall is to decorate my house full of all things fall......leaves, pumpkins, straw/hay, cornucopias, pillows, fall quilts and table runners quilted by myself

I live in Norway and we are definitely in the fall. I love to go for walks in the forest watching the nature changing in to all the beautiful fall-colours. The air is clear and crisp.
I also love cozy knittingevenings inside planning christmaspresents for family and friends.
I live in Northwest Arkansas. Fall is the time for the Lincoln Applefest Craft Fair and two weeks later War Eagle Arts and Crafts Festival along with 5 or 6 other craft fairs the same weekend. Kettle Corn, homemade chili, and hot apple cider are favorite foods in Fall. Last year my husband and I went to a corn maze and pumpkin patch. Loved seeing your beautiful projects and fiber finds!

Finally fall arived in Romania - in 24 hours the temperature droped 20 deg.C, making the weather more bearable. We love going to the mountains, to see the forests in fall colors... Thank you for the giveaway, beautiful yarn!
Wonderful episode! Lucky daughter with that beautiful sweater...hope you get one soon! I have mixed feelings about fall, as I love summer so much. However, some things I do appreciate are the beauty of the woods and that earthy smell of leaves making a carpet on the path, not to mention the gorgeous colors. I like to decorate for fall as the colors are ones that I like. I love the autumn candles too! Thanks for sharing!

I live in California a half hour south of the state capital near a town called Lodi. It's not very cold here so I don't get to wear knits much, but I so enjoy knitting! I'm thinking about taking my grandkids to Apple Hill in the foothills. We took our kids there when they were young and it's very enjoyable. The apple cider donuts are so delish! Toronto Canada. Fall is my favourite season I love going to the farm with the kids and apple pick and taking hay rides and picking up pumpkins and gourds to decorate my home.
I am in Vancouver British Columbia, Canada. When I was growing up, our favourite fall activity was to clean up the yard before the first snowfall. We would rake the leaves, give the grass some final cuts, turn up the soil...stuff like that. Sadly I don't have a yard that would require this, but I still clean up the leaves from our magnolia tree out back. Just being outside and close to the earth was the best! I am definitely a fall/spring girl!
Lori Dupuis My kids used to love taking the leaves and jumping in them. They’re older now so that’s not as appealing anymore. Lol. I have younger nephews and nieces though who still enjoy it!

It's so nice to look forward to Fall. Our temps here in the Kansas City, Missouri area have been very hot all through September. We're getting a thunderstorm right now and hoping the temps will drop into the 60's tomorrow as they say. I've always wanted to go to Maine, your shots of your vacationthere were so relaxing to watch. I love your podcast, it relaxes me. I'm normally more of a "bright color" knitter, spinner and weaver, but I think your subtle, sophisicated colors are starting to really appeal to me. Edited to add: I LOVE Fall. I enjoy apple picking, putting out some autumn-colored Mums on the front porch, drinking spicy hot tea, making butternut squash soup for my family. And most of all, sitting in front of the fireplace with my knitting and/or a good novel.
