When going down the stairs to go to the witches roads the rotes were blue which is billy/Wiccan power colour when he use magic I think he's been in charge all this time but he needs witch to go as he wants to get his family back, his mum,dad and his twin Tommy back.

The road was blue because the first trial was Jen's trial. So far the colour scheme of the road has followed exactly the trial denoted per the witch.

I think at the end, Billy basically felt that they all had failed the coven; He's constantly from the beginning been trying to get them to work together, to support each other, and to trust, but every time they make some sort of mistake that sets them against each other and he has to call them out. I don't even think it's because they are bad, they're just each wrapped up in their own issues to care about others. Alice seemed to the closest to getting it, and when she died trying to help Agatha, he reached his limit. He basically said, nope, you all are not deserving of being here, and threw them out.
“For ages 3 and up.” I’m betting Billy M hopped into Billy K’s body when the hex collapsed and Billy K had a “near death experience” per newspaper in the credits. Agatha sees it now piecing together the various clues AND the Wanda style hypocrisy.
I have a theory that goes back to when Agatha revealed her true self in Wandavision. She told Wanda that she came to Westview because she sensed ‘the afterglow of so many spells cast all at once’. I think when she has magical power flowing through her veins she can sense the ambient mystical aura of magic users and their spells - as soon as she absorbed Alice’s power she got that aura sense back. She sensed Teen’s aura and immediately recognised it as similar to Wanda’s Chaos Magic. Despite the sigil spell (that an interview with a showrunner alludes) he placed on himself.
Agatha found out who Teen was because he shouted Nicholas Scratch's name out loud and as we know Agatha thought Teen was her son so she only connected the dots when Teen said a name and the sigil didn't silence him.
Maybe, I don't think there were any dots to connect, though. She's shown herself to have two modes, the "I couldn't control it" mode that was upset at Teen/Billy getting stabbed in the last episode and was concerned for Alice, and the "Are you sure? You're so much like your mother" mode that wants to absorb other people's power. I wonder if she might be possessed and the other entity was able to hear Teen when he said his name in episode 2.
I wonder if Nicholas Scratch died because Agatha drained him. That could even be why Evanora tried to execute her. When we hear Nicholas he says “Momma stop.” I wonder if those were his last words.
Im sure Rio (lady death) collected nicholas scratch’s body as her job, thats why Agatha hates her , and rio also said she had to do it even if she didnt want to. So thats maybe why Agatha lowkey tries to hold herself and calm down with Rio??
I think so. Specifically I suspect Agatha cannot control (or at least has great difficulties with) her drain, and perhaps she accidentally drained her son when he used magic on her, thus pushing her against Death and to find the Darkhold.
@@friendlyfiddler5727 yeah and to build on top of that, i think she sought out the darkhold to try to bring her son back but it just corrupted her like it did with Wanda and she has been trying for centuries up until she lost the book to Wanda and the look of regret on her face after she drains Alice is probably the first time she has felt regret over killing another witch in a long ass time. she finally isnt corrupted by the darkhold but shes an evil person who can sometimes have feelings for others (motherly instincts towards Teen and genuine remorse for Jen (Ep. 3 trial) and for Alice after draining her

It's so good! 😁🧙♀ Important distinction: when the Ouija board answered "death", Agatha hadn't asked "who are you?" nor "who are we talking to?" She asked, "who is with us?" And then Rio laughed. Lilia's vision from the Alewive's Revenge looked like it was her sister and her mother. And I'm guessing from the way they were dressed and speaking Italian, that they died in the Black Death.
I have to say you guys are probably the best reactors to this show. You have probably the most intelligent, sensitive takes. The way you recognise that the ambiguity of whether Agatha really had control is more interesting and important. Magic power as an allegory to addiction. All witches in this show seem to be some kind of messed up and morally ambiguous, especially the older ones. It's the two youngest members who have held onto their ideals, but also the ones who have experienced the world the least. A world who hasn't been kind to witches over the centuries. Also there are a number of clues that this trial may not be not what it seems, not a legit trial of the Road -- it may have been a manipulation by the Salem Seven: - No screen aspect ratio change like we had for the 2 previous trials when they entered the cabin. - No moon phase symbol at the entrance to the cabin (we see it prominently in the 2 trials before and from promos, one trial entrance later) - No corresponding element: water and fire were central to the previous two, in terms of how they could all die from drowning and burning. From promos we also see air and earth as dangers in later trials. And there are only 4 elements mentioned in the Ballad. - The exit heads up, not down. Previous ones lead downwards to the next level, which gels with the Ballad of doing down down down the Witches' Road. - Only Agatha seemed in any true danger and was specifically targeted. There was no testing of a witches' craft and previous trials had the entire coven in danger e.g. everyone had to drink the poison.
I was thinking of the metaphor of addiction for the show and wondered if I was off base - but I think that’s definitely a great way to view Agatha in a multi-faceted way. Showing the light and shade of these characters really allowed the show to live up to the potential of its premise. Great reactions! Big love from the UK! X

My Theory is that was actually Wiccan's trial and unlocking his power broke the sigil on him, which allowed Agatha to recognize him. Second slightly less confident prediction Wiccan cast the sigil on himself.
the name of the ep said a lot "darkest hour wake thy power" he lost the only friend he had there and the rest were indifferent, thats when he let loose, similar to Agatha her fear of her mother im guessing is the reason she took Alices power without fear of backlash from the coven.I think the sigil broke when she realised it was billy so the sigil was no longer needed and he remembered what she did to his family
I don’t think so. I think this was Agatha’s trial and she failed. She only figured out Teen’s identity by stealing his spellbook. He is part of the road or is partly controlling their journey on the road so he is punishing them for failing.
i don’t think this was a genuine trial. the previous two trials, jen’s/water and alice’s/fire, as soon as they were in the house and the door closed, the aspect ratio changed, and then it would return to how it was before once they completed the trial and exited back onto the road. that did not happen here, the aspect ratio remained consistent the whole episode. i think from the moment lilia wakes up we’re either in a prolonged “vision” of hers and/or it’s something the salem 7 are doing - either just to lilia, or to the whole group (possibly using the offerings left behind when rio was summoned, the last thing we see before lilia wakes up is one of the 7 holding one of the offerings whispering over it/doing a spell?)

Agatha can’t control her magic-absorbing power; it’s like on autopilot. That’s why, in the beginning, during the Salem witch trial, she said, “I can’t control it if only you will teach me how.” She was asking her coven to help her control her power, but they think she’s breaking the natural law for magic users. That's why she sought help from the book of Cathn, but instead of showing her how to control it, the book corrupted her and made her more power hungry, and when her coven found out about her using the darkhold, her mom decided to put her on trial and kill her.
I'm not even sure it was Agatha absorbing AAlice's power. I think she went from being possessed by her mother to being possessed by Mephisto, who drained Alice, and had the conversation with Teen. Check her voice and demeanor for "Are you sure?" Very much like Regan in The Exorcist, which was homaged earlier when Agatha was doing the crab walk after dropping off the ceiling.
Yes she can. Go back and watch the scene from Wandavision where her coven tries to kill her. She doesn't kill a witch who uses some magic on her at first. She also doesn't kill her mother at first when her mother blasts her with her magic. She kills every witch but her mother. When her mother hits her with magic the second time she kills her.

Even when Agatha’s hands were tied, meaning her body does it on its own The same thing was applied to Alice. She blasted Agatha with her magic, but Agatha converted it to absorb it unconsciously. That's why if you pay attention to the emotion on her face when she snapped back to her senses, she looks sad. She even looked back sad at Alice before she left the house.
Nerdy, I think Agatha being "Evil" ( her mother's words ) was said because Evanora knew and hated her daughter was gay, which was confirmed to her when Agatha & Rio fell in Love back in the day. Sadly, Rio was the one who had to sacrifice Nicholas by taking him to Hell / the Underworld, which turned Agatha and Rio's love for one another to hate. Agatha's support of Teen aka Wiccan is because as a gay youth once she can fully relate to him is my guess.
I think he might be Captain Marvel's son... No, I feel stupid cause I watched the episode and went "that's not Wiccan's headband/crown, they redesigned it," then I rewinded and rolfed that I missed his headband in the tree house was meant to evoke the one in the comics.

I never thought of the "trauma" allegory My friends and I have been discussing the end credits, and the empty cast credit slide (they only seem to be filled if that actor appears in that episode) The map of Westview with Wanda's hex superimposed on it has never been used. My friends have suggested an Elizabeth Olsen appearance, or even Sasha Baron Cohen. I'm suspecting it's coming up soon, and my guess is a flashback episode where Teen and his origins/activities breaking Agatha free are shown. Maybe we get a scene with Julian Hilliard?
Billy saying Nicolas scratch out loud proved to agatha that he's NOT her son, because he wouldn't have been about to say it otherwise. That's probably when she started to put it all together
it’s either to revive Wanda or find his brother, Tommy. he already has powers and knows how to use them. the next episode is definitely a flashback episode for him so i guess we’ll know what he wants next week
Just gonna put this here: A lot of people thought "Spirit as our guide" meant Sharon was coming back as a ghost. The thing is that the five pointed star with a circle around it is called a pentacle. Each point in the star is an element, air, water, earth, fire, and spirit. Agatha was on Spirit during the ballad. And her trial was the one where revelations came in.
I think Jen has a good chance at surviving because she has had great self-preservation instincts at every step, and she’s not gonna let anyone else hold her back. Worried about Lilia though. I wonder whether Teen sent Jen, Lilia, and Agatha underground or was able to exile them from the Road completely. There’s been some promo footage of them back at the start of the Road looking muddy, so I think Teen might have sent them back to Westview. There’s a clip in the trailer of Jen crawling out there from underground… One thing I noticed was that the exit from Agatha’s trial was a set of steps *up*, not down (down, down the Road). I feel like they fucked up the trial and it’s going to cost them at some point.
I knew he would be Wiccan, but the reveal was so good. That's why they were so muddy in the trailer when they crawled out of the earth. I so loved the broom flying scene. It took me 7 watches to understand, he said, hexenbesen.... and I'm German. 😂😂😂 I think this was wiccans' trial.
Rio could absolutely still be death. Focused on most time when death is mentioned. 'Her mom cant have her' possibly not entirely romantic and more 'I'll have to take her'

Also, her son was named Nicholas Scratch, nicknames for the devil, and there is a tradition to name firstborn sons after the mother's father - ie Franklin Richards was named for Franklin Storm in the Fantastic Four comics (that introduced Agatha, after all), father of the Invisible Woman.
I think it was two folds when the teen yelled "Nicholas Scratch" she got both excited about her son's presence, but it also 100% confirmed for her that the teen was actually not his son because he was not getting sigil'd!
tarot cards from promo image before even the series aired could actually tell who the characters were without recent spolers and their story in the show. alice's card was Knight of Wands which being the selfless heroic figure.

The effect of the Darkhold on Agatha is clear. She has not attacked anyone outright, but the Darkhold magic immediately feeds on other's and Agatha acts out-like a drug. I believe her when she says she can't control it.
For some reason, maybe because I watch it at least once a week during October, what Agatha's mom said about her made me think of the song Eddie from Rocky Horror.
But nailed it when it comes to magic as an addiction. When an addict doesn’t have access to their drug of choice they do have to grow as a person, even temporarily bc of momentary introspection but the second they get that next dose.. they’re right back. I’ve seen people dissecting Agatha’s switch but I hope Billy is able to be the one to pull her into using her power for good.

I do think Agatha can control her powers in some ways but she just doesn't know it yet because she never had to in the past. I think after she killed her coven along with her mother she gained a reputation among her kin and so nobody trusted her and probably wants to kill her. So she only ever has to defend herself cause her power only works if she's being attacked. And yes I do think it also became like an addiction to her
When they did the Ouija board the first time, Agatha said "Mother, Maiden, Crone", intentionally in the wrong order. Thats why the first time was a fake

If marvel is going to try introducing mutants into the mcu, I’d be willing to bet maybe Agatha’s mutant ability is that uncontrollable energy absorption (unless of course the dates/timeline doesn’t match up in that case just ignore this 💀)
i doubt they’ll make her a mutant who steals peoples energy’s because that’s literally Rogues powers already and shes literally a witch so it’s not necessary to changer her origin but i mean i just hope there’s good reasoning to go with it
love the "being a witch isn't about killing people. Fine! Murder!" so true, and so much like his mother 🤣 I do like Wanda but there's a whole lot of people being all high and mighty and hating Agatha when Wanda was NOT a good person, she's a complicated person
I think her mother's "You were born evil." line was just an exaggeration, for a lack of words. Her mother was probably so dead-set on seeing Agatha in an evil light that she just had no empathy for her own daughter anymore, especially after Agatha killed her coven. After all, the message her mother sent to Agatha and the others was "punish", which showed that she still haven't forgot or forgave Agatha for what she did, nor did she find peace in death.

I think her son is the rabbit and that she knows it. She's been powerless to change him back (probably because of a choice she made with a magic too strong or a demon too powerful) but desperately wants him restored.
It’ll be very interesting to find out when/how Agatha actually realized Wiccan’s identity. It’ll also be interesting to see if this trial was real or not, cuz right now there’s a LOT of theories and a lot of weirdness that’s been pointed out. About Evanora saying Agatha was born evil, I took it as referring to her siphoning power. I think it’s something she was born with and has never been able to control and that made everyone afraid of her, and as she grew up and started developing an actual taste and ambition for power, Evanora decided she was too dangerous. But also, I think we can’t overlook the allegory for homosexuality. Especially not with her lover being pretty much the only one to try and defend her-you can tell that Rio knows exactly how much pain Evanora causes Agatha, and it’s low key fascinating to see her have such an fierce reaction when she’s usually so impartial about everything. Even physical pain, she doesn’t really care and why would she when she’s immortal and has healing powers? But Agatha’s emotional pain is something she can’t heal, and that hurts her.
I completely agree about survival chances. I love all the witches and am sad to lose Alice, like I would be sad if Lilia and Jen go, but as long as the main 3 live i'll get over it. (Mainly Agatha and Rio tbf, I'm going off Wiccan although I know he's got to make it anyway)
The fact that your review is longer than the actual episode… I really don’t like when Disney allows these 20 minute episodes to air, like within the next 4 episodes we need to learn Laila’s backstory, as well as Death’s and Jennifer’s. We could’ve had another 10 minutes where they developed the character’s backstory, but now they’re gonna rush things cause they’ll probably devote a bunch of time to a big (unnecessary) battle between Agatha and Wiccan.
Well based on the clips for future episodes Agatha and Wiccan are actually going to continue walking the road together. Unless they fight at the very end of the season
At the very least, Teen needs Lillia and Rio to complete their trials so he can reach the end of the road. And I don’t think Rio would help him if Teen killed Agatha. There is a previously released scene still of Teen crouching on a tree with a muddied Agatha behind him. I assume Teen is going to save them from the mud shortly after when episode 5 ended, before they drown/suffocate.
A short fuse is a Maximoff trait, Teen is a moody teenager, he is grieving Alice’s death, and he is mad at how callous/indifferent the coven is to Alice’s death. It’s just a little punishment and not him trying to kill them.
Have no fear for Sharon Davis aka Mrs. Hart and Alice Wu-Gulliver as I believe they will be resurrected ( along with Lilia Calderu and Jennifer Kale if they also die ) once the remaining Coven members ( or just Agatha and Wiccan ) arrive at the end of Witches Road, when Agatha realizes she wants her Coven aka Sister Witches back over power. I'm thinking by the end of "Agatha All Along" we will be seeing Agatha as a victim in many regards and she'll end up becoming an anti hero in the MCU. Going forward she'll be on a redemption arc, trying to right all of her past wrongs.

While the other two is going down like the ballad say “Down Down Down The Road” and the ballad says “through many miles of TRICKS and trial” for me that’s not Agatha real trial. Because the other two play with our emotion. Like Jen is her potion skill and Alice is about her curse and her mother. But Agatha? Hm something was off

Your take on addiction makes sense but that only applies to Agatha. Jennifer character is not addicted to magic she's trying to remember a time when she could do these spells with a wave of her hand. Now being bound she has to used replicate that magic chemically which doesn't work as well leading into her court cases. Jennifer character more like a self-harm especially if she's the one who actually bound her own powers through shame and ridicule of her supposed racist colleagues. The character of Lillian basically self-sabotage herself. Knowing how people would react to her reading temporal aura to predict future tragedy even if it was to help the community would not react well due to the fact that a individual can be smart but the populist as a whole is stupid with the overwhelming urge to go back to uncivilized means of confrontation.
I'm wondering if they're gonna make Agatha the daughter of Mephisto in the series, or something similar. It is really messed up for your mom to tell you you're born evil and she should've killed her 💔
I understand Alice’s death, but I don’t like it any less. There is a scene from the trailer that shows Jen pulling herself from the ground outside Westview. A part of me hopes that anyone that dies on the road and is buried somehow is able to escape back to the world above.
I don't think she's dead. When Teen controlled the witches to throw Agatha off the road, Rio was nowhere in sight. Maybe, for whatever reason, she's restoring Alice? Or the whole thing was an illusion from the Salem Seven?
I have an insane theory. What if Agatha's father is Mephisto? And what if Agatha has a Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde kinda situation or maybe even a curse because of her father? Her mother knows this and that's why she is so awful. Agatha doesn't seem in control at all. I don't think she gave her son away for the Darkhold. That other personality/curse made her do it. Yeah, she's not a good person, but she wasn't like that when she had no powers. Something activates when she gains power. And Rio definitely knows. Maybe she was around to keep an eye on her at first. I share my theory everywhere I can and hopefully someone joins my insanity.
I agree. I was also wondering if Agatha didn't give Nicolas away, not to get the Darkhold, but to protect him from Mephisto. And then perhaps got the Darkhold either to try to get Nicholas back, or to use it as a weapon to protect him from Mephisto. I also think Mephisto was possessing Agatha when she drained Alice, and certainly when she talked with Teen afterwards, on the road.

Lilia's vision from the Alewive's Revenge looked like it was her sister and her mother. And I'm guessing from the way they were dressed and speaking Italian, that they died in the Black Death.
I have to say you guys are probably the best reactors to this show. You have probably the most intelligent, sensitive takes. The way you recognise that the ambiguity of whether Agatha really had control is more interesting and important. Magic power as an allegory to addiction.
All witches in this show seem to be some kind of messed up and morally ambiguous, especially the older ones. It's the two youngest members who have held onto their ideals, but also the ones who have experienced the world the least. A world who hasn't been kind to witches over the centuries.
Also there are a number of clues that this trial may not be not what it seems, not a legit trial of the Road -- it may have been a manipulation by the Salem Seven:
- No screen aspect ratio change like we had for the 2 previous trials when they entered the cabin.
- No moon phase symbol at the entrance to the cabin (we see it prominently in the 2 trials before and from promos, one trial entrance later)
- No corresponding element: water and fire were central to the previous two, in terms of how they could all die from drowning and burning. From promos we also see air and earth as dangers in later trials. And there are only 4 elements mentioned in the Ballad.
- The exit heads up, not down. Previous ones lead downwards to the next level, which gels with the Ballad of doing down down down the Witches' Road.
- Only Agatha seemed in any true danger and was specifically targeted. There was no testing of a witches' craft and previous trials had the entire coven in danger e.g. everyone had to drink the poison.
So oissed about Alice dying, but remember her line from last week? "I'll see you at the end."

"Death comes for us all" but she has been avoiding it for centuries!! Maybe her curse is that she can't die?
You think she survived the plague, maybe? It ravaged Italy and Lilia was speaking Italian in her flashback.
I was thinking of the metaphor of addiction for the show and wondered if I was off base - but I think that’s definitely a great way to view Agatha in a multi-faceted way. Showing the light and shade of these characters really allowed the show to live up to the potential of its premise.

More than this, it starts with her 'waking up' after a dream, the aspect ratio doesn't change when they enter the trial to match the decade, and the other 2 get over the death insanely quickly (compare to Sharon's).

My Theory is that was actually Wiccan's trial and unlocking his power broke the sigil on him, which allowed Agatha to recognize him. Second slightly less confident prediction Wiccan cast the sigil on himself.
the name of the ep said a lot "darkest hour wake thy power" he lost the only friend he had there and the rest were indifferent, thats when he let loose, similar to Agatha her fear of her mother im guessing is the reason she took Alices power without fear of backlash from the coven.I think the sigil broke when she realised it was billy so the sigil was no longer needed and he remembered what she did to his family
I don’t think so. I think this was Agatha’s trial and she failed. She only figured out Teen’s identity by stealing his spellbook. He is part of the road or is partly controlling their journey on the road so he is punishing them for failing.
i don’t think this was a genuine trial. the previous two trials, jen’s/water and alice’s/fire, as soon as they were in the house and the door closed, the aspect ratio changed, and then it would return to how it was before once they completed the trial and exited back onto the road.
that did not happen here, the aspect ratio remained consistent the whole episode.
i think from the moment lilia wakes up we’re either in a prolonged “vision” of hers and/or it’s something the salem 7 are doing - either just to lilia, or to the whole group (possibly using the offerings left behind when rio was summoned, the last thing we see before lilia wakes up is one of the 7 holding one of the offerings whispering over it/doing a spell?)

Agatha can’t control her magic-absorbing power; it’s like on autopilot. That’s why, in the beginning, during the Salem witch trial, she said, “I can’t control it if only you will teach me how.” She was asking her coven to help her control her power, but they think she’s breaking the natural law for magic users. That's why she sought help from the book of Cathn, but instead of showing her how to control it, the book corrupted her and made her more power hungry, and when her coven found out about her using the darkhold, her mom decided to put her on trial and kill her.
I'm not even sure it was Agatha absorbing AAlice's power. I think she went from being possessed by her mother to being possessed by Mephisto, who drained Alice, and had the conversation with Teen. Check her voice and demeanor for "Are you sure?" Very much like Regan in The Exorcist, which was homaged earlier when Agatha was doing the crab walk after dropping off the ceiling.
Yes she can. Go back and watch the scene from Wandavision where her coven tries to kill her. She doesn't kill a witch who uses some magic on her at first. She also doesn't kill her mother at first when her mother blasts her with her magic. She kills every witch but her mother. When her mother hits her with magic the second time she kills her.

Even when Agatha’s hands were tied, meaning her body does it on its own
The same thing was applied to Alice. She blasted Agatha with her magic, but Agatha converted it to absorb it unconsciously. That's why if you pay attention to the emotion on her face when she snapped back to her senses, she looks sad. She even looked back sad at Alice before she left the house.
Nerdy, I think Agatha being "Evil" ( her mother's words ) was said because Evanora knew and hated her daughter was gay, which was confirmed to her when Agatha & Rio fell in Love back in the day.
Sadly, Rio was the one who had to sacrifice Nicholas by taking him to Hell / the Underworld, which turned Agatha and Rio's love for one another to hate.
Agatha's support of Teen aka Wiccan is because as a gay youth once she can fully relate to him is my guess.

My friends and I have been discussing the end credits, and the empty cast credit slide (they only seem to be filled if that actor appears in that episode)
The map of Westview with Wanda's hex superimposed on it has never been used. My friends have suggested an Elizabeth Olsen appearance, or even Sasha Baron Cohen. I'm suspecting it's coming up soon, and my guess is a flashback episode where Teen and his origins/activities breaking Agatha free are shown. Maybe we get a scene with Julian Hilliard?

Just gonna put this here: A lot of people thought "Spirit as our guide" meant Sharon was coming back as a ghost. The thing is that the five pointed star with a circle around it is called a pentacle.
Each point in the star is an element, air, water, earth, fire, and spirit. Agatha was on Spirit during the ballad. And her trial was the one where revelations came in.
I think Jen has a good chance at surviving because she has had great self-preservation instincts at every step, and she’s not gonna let anyone else hold her back. Worried about Lilia though.
I wonder whether Teen sent Jen, Lilia, and Agatha underground or was able to exile them from the Road completely. There’s been some promo footage of them back at the start of the Road looking muddy, so I think Teen might have sent them back to Westview. There’s a clip in the trailer of Jen crawling out there from underground…
One thing I noticed was that the exit from Agatha’s trial was a set of steps *up*, not down (down, down the Road). I feel like they fucked up the trial and it’s going to cost them at some point.

I knew he would be Wiccan, but the reveal was so good. That's why they were so muddy in the trailer when they crawled out of the earth. I so loved the broom flying scene. It took me 7 watches to understand, he said, hexenbesen.... and I'm German. 😂😂😂 I think this was wiccans' trial.

Also, her son was named Nicholas Scratch, nicknames for the devil, and there is a tradition to name firstborn sons after the mother's father - ie Franklin Richards was named for Franklin Storm in the Fantastic Four comics (that introduced Agatha, after all), father of the Invisible Woman.
Lilia's trauma comes from not being listened to when she warned people of things that they did not want to hear.
I think it was two folds when the teen yelled "Nicholas Scratch" she got both excited about her son's presence, but it also 100% confirmed for her that the teen was actually not his son because he was not getting sigil'd!
We are assuming the ground kills you, but it might just send you back to the real world and kick you off the road.
tarot cards from promo image before even the series aired could actually tell who the characters were without recent spolers and their story in the show. alice's card was Knight of Wands which being the selfless heroic figure.

The effect of the Darkhold on Agatha is clear. She has not attacked anyone outright, but the Darkhold magic immediately feeds on other's and Agatha acts out-like a drug. I believe her when she says she can't control it.

But nailed it when it comes to magic as an addiction. When an addict doesn’t have access to their drug of choice they do have to grow as a person, even temporarily bc of momentary introspection but the second they get that next dose.. they’re right back. I’ve seen people dissecting Agatha’s switch but I hope Billy is able to be the one to pull her into using her power for good.

I do think Agatha can control her powers in some ways but she just doesn't know it yet because she never had to in the past. I think after she killed her coven along with her mother she gained a reputation among her kin and so nobody trusted her and probably wants to kill her. So she only ever has to defend herself cause her power only works if she's being attacked. And yes I do think it also became like an addiction to her
When they did the Ouija board the first time, Agatha said "Mother, Maiden, Crone", intentionally in the wrong order. Thats why the first time was a fake

If marvel is going to try introducing mutants into the mcu, I’d be willing to bet maybe Agatha’s mutant ability is that uncontrollable energy absorption (unless of course the dates/timeline doesn’t match up in that case just ignore this 💀)

I think her mother's "You were born evil." line was just an exaggeration, for a lack of words. Her mother was probably so dead-set on seeing Agatha in an evil light that she just had no empathy for her own daughter anymore, especially after Agatha killed her coven. After all, the message her mother sent to Agatha and the others was "punish", which showed that she still haven't forgot or forgave Agatha for what she did, nor did she find peace in death.

I think her son is the rabbit and that she knows it. She's been powerless to change him back (probably because of a choice she made with a magic too strong or a demon too powerful) but desperately wants him restored.
Really great analysis. This show is so good. I don’t think this trial is all that it seems but I can’t wait to see how it plays out.
It’ll be very interesting to find out when/how Agatha actually realized Wiccan’s identity. It’ll also be interesting to see if this trial was real or not, cuz right now there’s a LOT of theories and a lot of weirdness that’s been pointed out.
About Evanora saying Agatha was born evil, I took it as referring to her siphoning power. I think it’s something she was born with and has never been able to control and that made everyone afraid of her, and as she grew up and started developing an actual taste and ambition for power, Evanora decided she was too dangerous. But also, I think we can’t overlook the allegory for homosexuality. Especially not with her lover being pretty much the only one to try and defend her-you can tell that Rio knows exactly how much pain Evanora causes Agatha, and it’s low key fascinating to see her have such an fierce reaction when she’s usually so impartial about everything. Even physical pain, she doesn’t really care and why would she when she’s immortal and has healing powers? But Agatha’s emotional pain is something she can’t heal, and that hurts her.
I think Agatha actually can't control it (she also mentioned she couldn't control her power in Wandavision).
Wild prediction: I think Sharon’s purse is going to help them get out of wherever they went under the mud lol.

The fact that your review is longer than the actual episode… I really don’t like when Disney allows these 20 minute episodes to air, like within the next 4 episodes we need to learn Laila’s backstory, as well as Death’s and Jennifer’s. We could’ve had another 10 minutes where they developed the character’s backstory, but now they’re gonna rush things cause they’ll probably devote a bunch of time to a big (unnecessary) battle between Agatha and Wiccan.
Well based on the clips for future episodes Agatha and Wiccan are actually going to continue walking the road together. Unless they fight at the very end of the season
Teen (Wiccan) better warp reality so Alice can come back. Poor Alice. But Teen could be antagonist though.
At the very least, Teen needs Lillia and Rio to complete their trials so he can reach the end of the road.
And I don’t think Rio would help him if Teen killed Agatha.
There is a previously released scene still of Teen crouching on a tree with a muddied Agatha behind him.
I assume Teen is going to save them from the mud shortly after when episode 5 ended, before they drown/suffocate.
A short fuse is a Maximoff trait, Teen is a moody teenager, he is grieving Alice’s death, and he is mad at how callous/indifferent the coven is to Alice’s death.
It’s just a little punishment and not him trying to kill them.
Remember this is 80s Hasbro and at the very least Hong Kong would've been independent at this time.
Have no fear for Sharon Davis aka Mrs. Hart and Alice Wu-Gulliver as I believe they will be resurrected ( along with Lilia Calderu and Jennifer Kale if they also die ) once the remaining Coven members ( or just Agatha and Wiccan ) arrive at the end of Witches Road, when Agatha realizes she wants her Coven aka Sister Witches back over power.
I'm thinking by the end of "Agatha All Along" we will be seeing Agatha as a victim in many regards and she'll end up becoming an anti hero in the MCU.
Going forward she'll be on a redemption arc, trying to right all of her past wrongs.

Your take on addiction makes sense but that only applies to Agatha. Jennifer character is not addicted to magic she's trying to remember a time when she could do these spells with a wave of her hand. Now being bound she has to used replicate that magic chemically which doesn't work as well leading into her court cases. Jennifer character more like a self-harm especially if she's the one who actually bound her own powers through shame and ridicule of her supposed racist colleagues. The character of Lillian basically self-sabotage herself. Knowing how people would react to her reading temporal aura to predict future tragedy even if it was to help the community would not react well due to the fact that a individual can be smart but the populist as a whole is stupid with the overwhelming urge to go back to uncivilized means of confrontation.
I'm wondering if they're gonna make Agatha the daughter of Mephisto in the series, or something similar. It is really messed up for your mom to tell you you're born evil and she should've killed her 💔

There is a scene from the trailer that shows Jen pulling herself from the ground outside Westview. A part of me hopes that anyone that dies on the road and is buried somehow is able to escape back to the world above.
I don't think she's dead. When Teen controlled the witches to throw Agatha off the road, Rio was nowhere in sight. Maybe, for whatever reason, she's restoring Alice? Or the whole thing was an illusion from the Salem Seven?

I have an insane theory. What if Agatha's father is Mephisto? And what if Agatha has a Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde kinda situation or maybe even a curse because of her father? Her mother knows this and that's why she is so awful. Agatha doesn't seem in control at all. I don't think she gave her son away for the Darkhold. That other personality/curse made her do it. Yeah, she's not a good person, but she wasn't like that when she had no powers. Something activates when she gains power. And Rio definitely knows. Maybe she was around to keep an eye on her at first.

I agree. I was also wondering if Agatha didn't give Nicolas away, not to get the Darkhold, but to protect him from Mephisto. And then perhaps got the Darkhold either to try to get Nicholas back, or to use it as a weapon to protect him from Mephisto. I also think Mephisto was possessing Agatha when she drained Alice, and certainly when she talked with Teen afterwards, on the road.
