You know Alice’s death hurts something fierce when Jess got more upset about that than she did about the snake. Hoo boy, that reaction to Alice’s death was striking.
Alice was the only witch that didn't seem Wicked. She was just trying to get on with her life. She finally got free from her curse that she enjoyed her freedom for all of an hour it seems like
Yes, she felt free and lighter after her test. She also jumped in to save Agatha without hesitation. I wonder if the road 'kills' the ones who are the least selfish.

Justice for Alice! I was literally listening to Lorna’s Ballad on Apple Music, trying to manifest protection for the character leading up to episode 5. I’m bummed. Having said that though, if they were trying to get to that Wiccan reveal at the end and Teen/Billy turning on Agatha, Alice is the ONLY character who could have gotten that reaction out of Teen. It had to be Alice. If you rewatch episodes 3-5 there are significant bonding moments between the two of them that he didn’t share with anyone else. They talk about going through hard times at age 13 in episode 3. In 4 Alice helps him dig Sharon’s grave and is the first to rush to his side when he is attacked by the curse and again later when he collapses. In 5 they create brooms for each other and Alice is again the first to jump to protect him. All that bonding aside Alice seems to be the only person who is genuinely a good person through and through with no big skeletons in her closet.
There’s something odd about this episode. Notice how we never saw what kind of trial it was going to be. In previous episodes, we always saw the phase of the moon on the door before each trial, and they even discussed it, which suggests it’s important to the writers, they even wrote the characters adressing the phases. But in this episode, that detail on the door and the conversation were missing. Another thing that stood out to me is the aspect ratio. In WandaVision and other MCU shows, aspect ratio shifts are very deliberate and reflect different time periods or realities. During the trials in this show, the aspect ratio changed to 16:9, signaling that we were in a different realm. However in this episode, the aspect ratio didn’t change at all, remaining in the cinematic format typical of most MCU projects. Given how carefully these shifts are used, this seems intentional. It makes me wonder could the whole episode be an illusion or a dream sequence? Maybe everyone is actually okay but trapped in some kind of dream state.
I’m wondering if something happened after they passed through the swarm the Salem seven spewed right before entering the house infected them or cursed them somehow.
My personal theory is that this is somehow Lillia's trial. She has seen the future and must now ensure a better outcome. Something like that, at least. Lillia's previous premonitions of "Alice don't!" and "Save Agatha" may have been part of this.
I didn’t see the detail on the door this time, but they did mention that it’s a blood moon, when the line between the living and the dead is the thinnest.

The MCU's version of the Salem Seven seem rather different from their counterparts in the comics, but for what it's worth, the comic book version of the snake witch is named Reptilla. (Her siblings' names aren't any better.)
I would have lost my mind if they waited any longer to be honest. It was killing me to hear some people bizarre rationalizations that he was Agatha’s son
With teens early revelation I feel like they have to bring Alice and Sharon back somehow. Bc we only have Lilia’s and Rios trial left if I’m not mistaken? Idk if teen will get one… But the rest of the episodes I’m hopeful they both come back into the story somehow
@@migwigpee0796 I think the next episode is about Billy, exploring his backstory and showing his POV of certain parts of the series, then it will be Lilia's trial, Rio's and then the finale
A lot happened in this episode, but the thing that most grabbed my attention was a background detail that nobody else would care about. In the stack of board games where they got the Ouija board there was Pente. It was invented in my hometown. I played it as a kid when it was new and it came in a tube instead of the box that they had here.
Probably the best way to view Agatha's "Mrs. Hart" impression is to view it as an I.O.U. They don't want us to forget Sharon Davis because they plan to bring her back. They'll get that jewel that the Salem Seven found, plant it in some magical garden, grow a gigantic flower from it, and the petals will open up to reveal Sharon, good as new.
And Rio… they haven’t done the earth or air trials yet. The three are now literally in the earth. I think that’s next, unless Wiccan cast them off the road completely
When Lilia said "Alice, don't" and "Try to save Agatha"...put them together and it is the warning for this episode. Also, where did Rio go at the end? She is Lady Death and perhaps was collecting Alice's body.
First Wanda almost tore the multiverse apart trying to get her sons back. Now - according to my best guess - Billy is walking the perilous Road trying to get his mom back. Never underestimate the bond between mother and son.

Once the road is started, it won't rest until at least 1 Coven member makes it to the end....Unfortunately.
Such a great episode! I never really look at the runtimes, and this had so much happen that it didn't feel any shorter. I kind of knew going into this who 'The Teen' was, but I thought we'd have a longer wait for that reveal. I loved the whole 'cabin in the woods', 80's teen slasher mixed with some 'Evil Dead" feel. NOW I have a thought- - - will the last episode be 'Wizard of Oz'ish?
Alice did her job she pushed the spirit out it didn’t drain her until Agatha reached in and invited her power in and crazy thing is she didn’t even inherit her gift it burnt out as soon as she stepped back on the road
Agatha was moving gesturing and talking like Rio. I’m thinking possessed, her demeanor changed when they took a hold of her, and yes, that is Billy Maximoff or Billy Kaplan, but clearly Wiccan

The fact some people try to say Agatha didn’t take her powers on purpose is comical.. like the ghost left and she reached her hands out happily and snatched all her powers.. she knew what she was doing
So I have a theory about how Teen was able to control Lilia & Jen but not Agatha. Remembering episode 2, Teen gave Lilia & Jen directions to Agatha’s house? There might’ve been a spell in that paper since both witches hated and mistrusted Agatha but joined her coven anyway. Also Alice was the only one Teen didn’t give directions to, he even seemed upset when he forgot to do that.
I thought it was just because if he used his magic on her she would have just absorbed it all so he took control of the other 2 so they could do it without the direct use of magic
Billy can mind control the same way Wanda could, he controlled the two because Agatha was actually expecting for Billy to blast her so she could absorb his.
Could be, although it may not be that he can't do much as he won't. If he attacks Agatha directly she can drain his power, so he uses his magic on other people to make them attack her
Yeah he mind controlled them because Agatha would’ve absorbed him but that doesn’t mean he didn’t hex them before they got to the road. My theory makes Teen seem more cunning and deceitful like Wanda was.
I was wondering if Rio (who isn't in scene) was pretending to be Agatha, her behavior and walk was very Rio in my opinion but maybe it was the rush of the new magic. Or they could be the Sinister Sisters messing with him to out him, I LOVE seeing him as Wiccan for sure, but I don't think he would have attacked the other two if it was really them? Can't wait to see what happens next, love Joe so much, between this and Season 3 of Heartstopper I'm a very happy girl.
Still on fence about this show but they did do a good job setting up Teen & Alice friendship as the two always had each others back. It makes sense that with her dead he’d turn in the rest of the coven
@@DarkDevilMasonFor what it’s worth Agatha was looking out for teen, even after knowing he wasn’t her son because you can see her face when one of Salem 7 attack him she looks terrified only Agatha will never let you see that side of her. Even when she said the last straw by calling him “Pet”, remember she named her pet bunny after he son, so I think Agatha actually fully intended to keep looking after Teen.
I'm subscribed to the theory that Agatha can't control it, but people don't believe her, they just paint her as the bad guy so she leans into it and thinks might as well be what they think I am because nothing I do or say matters bc they'll always see me as this. I also am in agreeance with some others that point out something is off with this trial. The aspect ratio doesn't change, which is definitely a conscious choice. Also people have pointed out that in other trials there exit went down (down, down, down the witches road) with the oven and the piano but in this one it went up. Also I haven't heard anyone else mention this, but my best friend and I noticed that in the scene with Billy and Agatha it looks like wavy which was weird. This all might be pointing to the fact that this was not a true trial or this trial is not over yet, or even that things that happened that we saw didn't actually happen. I don't know. However, I was curious so I went digging into the cast list in imdb and found some interesting things. could be spoilers so beware. Kathryn and Joe are credited for 9 episodes (makes sense), Aubrey is credited for 7 episodes (also makes sense because Rio wasn't in ep 2 or 3), Debra Jo Rupp is credited for 4 episodes (Mrs. Hart/Sharon was in eps 1, 2 and died in 3, so there's hope we'll see her again) and Ali, Patti and Sasheer are credited for 8 episodes (we met Alice, Lilia, and Jen in ep 2, so they are all supposedly in the remainder or the series) so there is hope Alice is not dead! Could mean nothing, but I think it means something
No because I damn near cried after what happened. There is no way that couldn't hurt after everything that went down in episode 4. I liked her character since she was introduced and i got so attached like whyyy 😢
I wonder if maybe Agatha and the witches were all possessed by the original coven. Maybe even when Agatha said "You're so like your mother", maybe that was her mom thinking that teen was her child. idk Otherwise I sort of have no idea what happened.
I very much think Agatha isn't exactly Lying when she says she couldn't stop herself from taking Alice's powers, but I think it's the same way that an addict isn't at fault when they choose to go back to drugs. Yes, it was a "choice" (tho how much was also an instinctual defense mechanism from being attacked by her mother, I can't say), but how much choice does an addict really have until they're finally in a place where they're able to see and choose a better path for themselves? Agatha needs magic at this point because it's an addiction, so when it's in front of her (or rather inside of her), she's going to take it whether she feels bad about it or not later
I think it’s pretty apparent that her coven turned on her. She said to Sharon she can only take powers from people attacking her first. And In doing so “killed them” though they aren’t dead if there still hunting witches . And that makes me think alice and Sharon will be back in creepy form. I think Agatha is a succubus and actually can’t stop herself from absorbing power. But again she only can when attacked first . Her mom said she was evil from the moment she was born . And my knowledge of witch lore reminds me there is usually a sacrifice. To gain something, you must lose something. I think her mom sacrificed Agatha before she was even born for her own magic. But Agatha’s ability is survival. She survived her mother . Who ngl seems like a total nah 😂
Your comment about a pterodactyl is possible now that Marvel has the rights to X-Men back. Sauron (not the Lord of the Rings character) would be an awesome pull from the comics.
There is a thin slice of me that thinks Sharon never came on the road with them. It was always Rio, just with a glamour to change her appearance. Could easily not be that and it really was Sharon Davis but I think it works even when you know who Rio is.
I have a theory that goes back to when Agatha revealed her true self in Wandavision. She told Wanda that she came to Westview because she sensed ‘the afterglow of so many spells cast all at once’. I think when she has magical power flowing through her veins she can sense the ambient mystical aura of magic users and their spells - as soon as she absorbed Alice’s power she got that aura sense back. She sensed Teen’s aura and immediately recognised it as similar to Wanda’s Chaos Magic. Despite the sigil spell (that an interview with a showrunner alludes) he placed on himself.
If it hasn't happened yet in the show, don't mention things showrunners have said in interviews. If that's significant to the plot of a future episode you may have just spoiled Sesska's next reaction for her and all of her viewers.
@@bobblebardsley Don’t worry, it was an interview with Jac where she basically doubled down on what the witches said in one of the previous episodes regarding sigil spells - that they’re quite ‘clumsy and basic’ enchantments, cast for example by an amateur. Nothing definitive, of course
Said nicely: it's not "Wiccan-ism". The religion is simply called Wicca. The Divine Mother is a concept in Wicca as in Maiden, Mother, Crone. However, we don't say "divine". By being an aspect of the Goddess, it's assumed you're divine. Redundant. Knight of Wands represents a person who meets a challenge head on, who follows their passion/talents but they can be foolhardy and prideful which goes before the fall, after all.

-Alice don’t save Agatha
~Lilia 💛
I was wondering if Rio (who isn't in scene) was pretending to be Agatha, her behavior and walk was very Rio in my opinion but maybe it was the rush of the new magic. Or they could be the Sinister Sisters messing with him to out him, I LOVE seeing him as Wiccan for sure, but I don't think he would have attacked the other two if it was really them? Can't wait to see what happens next, love Joe so much, between this and Season 3 of Heartstopper I'm a very happy girl.
Bro this show is so fucking good, im in love with it
Wiccan is finally here!
No shade the SALEM 7 scared the shit outta me 😂when they be shape shifting and stuff
Alice don’t - Lilia
Still on fence about this show but they did do a good job setting up Teen & Alice friendship as the two always had each others back. It makes sense that with her dead he’d turn in the rest of the coven
I mean , she was the only one who treating as part of the coven and not a "Familiar" like Jen did this episode, whe was the one who was nice to him.
My favoirite Marvel character has arrived. Now, give me Hulkling and my Young Avengers.
You know pterodactyl are sneaky because they start with a silent letter.
Where is join button
It could have been worse. Agatha might have channeled Mr. Shart.
Suddenly everyone is throwing magic about? I suspect a trick. May even be Teen's trial, not Agatha's. But what do I know 😁
Your comment about a pterodactyl is possible now that Marvel has the rights to X-Men back. Sauron (not the Lord of the Rings character) would be an awesome pull from the comics.
I'm so sad about Alice. She was truly my favorite
I loving this show 💯 but I need more run time 😂💯
There is a thin slice of me that thinks Sharon never came on the road with them.
Wiccan is born.
This series makes us too confused wether to feel sorry or annoyed with Agatha
That’s what I like about this show they didn’t do the obvious thing and make Agatha the good hero
