    I’ve had this problem for years. Every cold season, just the driver side window sticks when going down on the back side. I’ve pulled the panel apart and greased any movable parts, re-aligned the window into the track, but it still sticks. I’ll be doing this trick, but it is really annoying to have to grease it. I like to find the source of the issue and repair it. I heard the seal has steal components that rust and swell, but they are discontinued.

      Libricated the window guide. Been working great for almost a week. See how long this lasts. 2004 Buick park avenue

      @@iliketowatchthis how's it been holding up now that it's been a few months? I'm trying the same thing on my 92 Buick Skylark.

      I never had to lubricate the window guide for the rest of the winter. It did start to bind a bit towards the end, but never stopped. Now that it has warmed up, the problem is gone again.

      I usually have to do this once a year in spring when the cold weather is over. Cold dry weather shrinks the seals and once the humid warm weather comes they swell and begin to stick. It's always been an issue, but after the one application a year which is usually my first car wash of the season also to get the salt off immediately, I'm good till the next spring!

    Does the can say breath hazard on it ?

      It's the same as basically any other aerosol, the propellant and fumes can be an issue for inhalation, but the liquid applied to the window itself should be fine so as long as you're doing it outside and well ventilated area you're not going to have any issues.

    Is this product tints safe?

    • @seansy59
      @seansy59  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would assume so. Silicone spray is safe for metal, rubber, plastic, vinyl and more. They make food grade silicone for food manufacturing machine lubricant also. Worst case is it may smear a little if you use too much and would have to be cleaned up.

      I just used that on my hand-wind Astra windows. Ahh no more shoulder ache winding the rear dog's window; first time it's wound all the way down in I don't know how long.

      Yes but get WD40 silicone spray only.

    • @CKT1138

      Yes but it will leave some greasiness behind so you would still want to eventually put in silicone spray, which is better as a lubricant, as WD-40 wasn't designed to actually be used as one.
